Summary: disapointing
Review: I bought the Baby Beethoven DVD for my son two months ago. I expected him to love it since he loves music and pictures or cartoons aimed for little kids. However, I found myself truly disapointed when I put the DVD and found out that my son was simply not interested in seeing it. Most of the time did not pay much attention to it or to what was going on. I put it several times and at different parts but he only pays attention to it when he sees the puppets.
I myself found it disapointing too. It is a shame to play clasical music electronically and not with an orchestra, it just does not sound as good. Also, I expected some more elaborate display of toys and things. It looks to me like a home-made poor quality experiment by someone who just bought a camera and wants to learn how to make a good movie.

Summary: FANTASTIC!!
Review: I can't believe anyone could give this video a bad review!! My twins, both teething, stop crying and start smiling the minute the video comes on! The music is beautiful and the visuals as good as those on Baby Mozart. Julie Clark is a hero in our house!

Summary: She loves it so I love it!
Review: I was introduced to the Baby Einstein collection with Baby Mozart, my 10 month old loved it, so I explored more selections including Baby Beethoven. She is now 1 year old and is still captivated by these videos! I am amazed! I had tried other videos in the past that had been recommended by parenting magazines, none of them kept her attention like the Baby Einstein videos do. My favorite feature of the DVD is the repeat option for those days when I am really needing to get something done I can loop the DVD and my daughter will watch it over not loosing any interest.

Summary: Breaks into tears???
Review: I have a one year old who LOVES the baby Einstein DVDs. We have Mozart, Bach and Newtown and he loves them all.

Then I bought Baby Beethoven.

For whatever reason my son will start crying the minute the first scene begins? I have no idea why, but for whatever reason he is frightened out of his wits when this DVD starts playing. I've tried several times to play the DVD but it always turns out the same way. Uncontrollably crying.

So just be aware when and if you purchase this DVD. It could bring you kid to tears.

Summary: Fun visuals, but...
Review: This video has fun visuals, but isn't anyone else bothered that the classical music is electronic?? Why couldn't we have had the same music but in its real form with orchestra, or piano, or whatever? I love the puppets, the images, and the general concept, but was truly disappointed with the music. Too bad.

Summary: OK video, terrible sound quality
Review: I have 8-month old triplets who love to watch Baby Mozart and Baby Bach each afternoon before bed. Thinking it would be good to expand our collection, I ordered Baby Beethoven (VHS) and was very disappointed to discover the sound quality was horrendous - very distorted, crackles, etc. The images look great ... but the whole point of the tape is the music with images. Just beware if you are considering this purchase. The Baby Einstein ads in the beginning of the tape are annoying too - very commercial.

Summary: Not as good as the others
Review: This is my most recent purchase of the Baby Einstein series, we have all of them! I must say, I was a little disappointed in the sound quality of this video. The toys are better and my son seems happy that he recognizes some of the toys that he has at home. However, if you try to turn the volume up, it sounds terrible (and I do not mean turning the volume up high). Maybe I just have a faulty tape, but I was not as happy with this one.

Summary: There is always one in the crowd...
Review: I should start by explaining that in our household have numerous Baby Einstein videos --Mozart, both Dolittle's, Shakespeare, Van Gogh-- which we adore and watch nearly every day. My 2.5 year old and 10 month old both love the music and the whimsical puppets, etc.

THAT SAID, my 10 month old (who was 7 at the original time of purchase) can not stand to watch the Baby Beethoven video. He bursts into tears every time I have tried to show it to him. (I've tried different points on the tape.)

I have no idea why this should be so (music too somber? puppets too scary?) but I thought I should warn those who were making their first purchase to try any of the other videos.

Summary: love it - love it - love it
Review: my 10 month old has been watching Baby Van Gogh since she was 4 months old, it enertained forever. Baby Beethoven compares, she could watch it all day. We have purchased others baby einstein that were not a success, but I believe that they were the earliest versions produced.
We do plan on purchasing Baby Neptune in March.
Love it
