Rating: Summary: Keeps attention but doesn't educate or stimulate at all Review: I have to say that there are some benefits to the baby einstein series. When in desperate need of a 30 minute babysitter, the vidoes generally do the trick - at least until your baby turns around 1. After that, they need a bit more to occupy them. It was always upsetting to me to see so many titles with "Einstein", "Genius", or "Smart" in the titles, when really the videos are just random images that hypnotize babies. Even the music is synthesized which hardly counts as utilizing the Mozart Effect (which really should use real instruments/orchestras). Some options are Juno Baby and, if you have the time, Fantasia - one of my favorites! Fantasia is LONG but in doses seems much more beneficial if you're after the Mozart Effect. If you're after the whole lot (shapes, counting, Mozart Effect, characters), go with Juno Baby...but they only have one video and aren't that easy to find yet. There are a few others out there that are just plain old awful...try to avoid them at all costs!Or, if you do have the time, it's better to interact with your baby, perhaps while listening to classical music. Just getting some little drums or tambourines out is cute and might even help teach a bit of rhythm and timing. Anyway, I do understand the need for some of these videos. I'd just rather choose some options that have a better chance of stimulating.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful DVD for little kids!!! Review: I bought this for my 13 month old daughter because I have heard so much about these DVD's. I was hestitant at first because I didn't think anything could hold her attention for long especially something on TV. When I first played it for her she was somewhat interested, but would wander off and do her own thing. I had her sit down with me and I pointed out things on the DVD, such as candles, fish, etc. and I acted real excited about seeing all of these colorful objects. She started to do the same and next thing I know she was watching the DVD on her own and everytime I ask her if she wants to watch her "show" she gets very excited. These DVD's are entertaining and educational. I don't feel guilty letting her watch TV when she watches this.
Rating: Summary: Still The Best! Review: I received Baby Mozart as a baby shower gift, and first tried it with my daughter when she was a couple of months old. Now, at 15-months old, this DVD is STILL her favorite! We've added to our collection with the other Baby Einstein titles, but so far, we've yet to see one that comes nearly as close to the quality of production within this feature. If you're not familiar with the Baby Einstein (BE) line, I strongly recommend this specific video as your first purchase, especially if you only plan to buy one. This is one of the rare BE productions that is exclusively music and images. What we appreciate most about Baby Mozart is that it's NOT heavy on the nature footage, computer animation, or interaction with puppets and children that you see on the other BE videos. I believe it is telling that after a solid year, Baby Mozart is still my daughter's favorite of the series, and can still hold her attention even though she has grown and changed so much since we first started watching it together. It's a shame Disney has changed this formula for success as evident in present BE videos, in that they are no longer near this high standard of quality.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Video Review: I was a nanny for a 6 month old girl and she just loved this video during her breakfast. I don't know if the two were related but we watched this video every morning for 1 year and by age 1, she knew her letters and numbers! This video just had her in a trance and I just wonder if the video added to her willingness to learn.
Rating: Summary: A Must Have Review: When my daughter was 3 months old, a woman recommended for me to buy this video. She told me her 18 month old son still loves it! I honestly thought she was too young for it, but from the moment I put it on, she was hooked. This video has helped me to get things done around the house, keeping her occupied. I now have invested in other baby einstein videos, but this one along with Baby Beethoven are her absolute favorites. I have decided this to be my new gift to new parents. It's probably one of the best essentials to have!
Rating: Summary: Yes babies really do love this... Review: Simply put, I just don't get it. It's a bunch of clips and images of ordinary toys, puppets, and objects set to simple Mozart. You'll be thinking to yourself, I could have done this. But guess what? It really works. I'm the father of a five month old baby who is mesmerized for the entire duration of this thing. We've played it about a dozen times already and we're still batting 100%. To boot, I tried to stop it early the other day and he bawled like there was no tomorrow. I put that thing back in the player so fast I almost broke it. The crying stopped immediately. Do not hesitate to buy this now! I'm already searching Amazon for all of the other Baby Einsteins...
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: This video has kept my now 2-month-old enthralled for the past month. It is well put together and has excellent music quality. It's even amusing enough for me to watch with him and not be bored. We both highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Should come home from the hospital with you! Review: Baby Mozart is amazing and wonderful! We heard about the Baby Einstein series from friends when our son was 3 months old. At first, we were a tiny bit skeptical because he didn't seem able to concentrate on anything for long. But the first time we put on this DVD, it engaged his attention completely and soon he was cooing at it! The music is lovely, and the graphics/visuals are delightful. We've bought other Baby Einstein DVDs since then and love them, but Mozart remains our favorite so far. (Note: each DVD specifies the intended age, but our now-6-month-old is already interested in Baby Van Gogh and Baby Neptune, so it's worth trying something a little early.) This is a **must-have**!
Rating: Summary: Can't get any better. Review: My family owns several of the Baby Einstein videos. Our active 1 year old boy loves to sit and watch them as well as our 4 year old who has watched them since she was a baby. I can't say enough about these videos and I give them as gifts to friends and family. The best video purchase we ever made for our family were these videos.
