Rating: Summary: A Saturday Morning Classic Comes to DVD! Review: I remember when I was a kid in the 70's, I would hop out of bed on saturday mornings and run to the TV with wide-eyed anticipation---looking forward to watching all of my favorite cartoon shows. I would tune in to the classic humor of Bugs Bunny, the future-iffic comedy of the Jetsons, and the trippy-cool live action adventures of Marshall, Will, and Holly in the Land of the Lost---just to name a few. But of all of the great shows I remember watching through the years, none could compare to the awesome adventures of Jonny Quest! Now, that I'm a father of two kids myself, its such a joy to know that I'll finally be able to share some of that magic with them on DVD! Simply put, they just don't make em like these anymore. Many thanks to the late, great Doug Wildey for creating such an entertaining and smartly-written series that will live on in the hearts of Quest fans everywhere! --- Jim Scott
Rating: Summary: DESERVES MORE THAN FIVE STARS!!! Review: Just found out that this SUPER series is finally coming to DVD, ...Santa got my letter. This show along with "The Flintstones" is truly a favorite of mine. It's better than the new Jonny. It only lasted one season, but was a great adventure show for the whole family. I like that phrase "For the whole family", you don't have too many shows like these anymore. This is a must for any DVD collection. Here are the air dates and the rerun dates for the season. {SEASON ONE} 9/18/1964 "Mystery of the lizard men" 9/25/1964 "Arctic splahdown" 4/8/1965 10/2/1964 "The curse of the Anibis" 6/3/1965 10/9/1964 "Pursuit of Po Ho" 4/1/1965 10/16/1964 "Riddle of gold" 4/22/1965 10/23/1964 "Treasure of the temple" 3/25/1965 10/30/1964 "Calcutta Adventure" 7/1/1965 11/6/1964 "Robot spy" 5/6/1965 11/13/1964 "Double danger" 5/27/1965 11/20/1964 "Shadow of the condor" 4/29/1965 11/27/1964 "Skull & double crossbones" 7/8/1965 12/4/1964 "The dreadful doll" 6/24/1965 12/11/1964 "A small matter of pygmies" 12/18/1964 "Dragons of ashiba" 3/18/1965 and 4/15/1965 12/25/1964 "Turu the terrible" 5/20/1965 12/31/1964 "The fraudulent valcano" 8/12/1965 1/7/1965 "Werewolf of the timberland" 7/22/1965 1/14/1965 "Pirates from below" 5/13/1965 1/21/1965 "Attack of the tree people" 6/10/1965 1/28/1965 "The invisible monster" 8/5/1965 2/4/1965 "The devil's tower" 8/19/1965 2/11/1965 "The Quetone missle mystery" 9/9/1965 2/18/1965 "The house of 7 gargoles" 2/25/1965 "Terror Island" 7/15/1965 and 7/29/1965 3/4/1965 "Monsters of the monastery" 8/26/1965 3/11/1965 "The sea hunt" 9/2/1965
Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Of The Best Review: Jonny Quest is one of the all time best animated shows ever made. It holds it up very well, forty years after its initial release. I am thrilled that Warner Home Video is releasing this title and the others in the "Hanna-Barbera Golden Collection" series. I hope that other classic H-B characters, in particular Huckleberry Hound, will get their own DVD box sets as well. I am going to enjoy this one, as well as the Flintstones, Scooby-Doo and the Jetsons. I am hoping that more of the classic Hanna-Barbera characters will show up soon on DVD. I don't want it to be another character collection set like "Cartoon Crackups;" give each character their own DVD set.
Rating: Summary: It's about time!!! Review: Just found out today about the coming arrival of Jonny Quest on DVD and I am very excited! It has been LONG overdue. Let's hope that Hanna-Barbera doesn't go cheap on the extras, perhaps brand new interviews w/ Tim Matheson & others (writers, other crew members, etc.) And now that our DVD players will finally be graced by young Master Quest's presence, can complete deluxe box sets of other HB characters be far behind, like Space Ghost, the Herculoids, Birdman & the Galaxy Trio, as well as complete collections of classic favorites such as Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Pixie & Dixie, Ruff & Reddy, Top Cat, heck, anything from before the days a certain slobbering Great Dane reared his ugly head and ruined HB. These were all cartoons which defined a genre and ushered in a Golden Age of Saturday morning TV, and, until the late '60's, nobody did it better than Hanna-Barbera. Can hardly wait to see these babies, 'cause these are some of the very best. Timeless fun for the whole family! Get them, pop them in your wayback machine/DVD player and head for Memory Lane. I know I will.
Rating: Summary: Get ready to jump for joy, after a long wait, JQ on DVD!!!!! Review: On May 11th, 2004, Jonny Quest season 1 from 1964-1965 will be released on DVD ,all 26 episodes. Other H-B cartoons due out as well are the Flintstones and The Jetsons, the first seasons respectfully there as well.
Rating: Summary: Classic Jonny Quest Review: It's great to see how much other people have also enjoyed the Johnny Quest 1960's cartoon series (boy, do I miss those days). I do not understand why Turner can miss such a jewel as this series. I have been waiting for 5+ years hoping to see a quality DVD production set, not the cheap foreign reproductions which are sometimes available. And Turner - make sure its the original series from 1964, not the "real adventures" series of the 1980's.
Rating: Summary: It's about time! Review: This is WAY overdue and should have happened years ago. I've been a loyal Jonny Quest fan since 1964 and it's always been my favorite cartoon. I've enjoyed others but Jonny Quest is the one that I've always gone back to time and time again. I am definitely going to tell all of the other Jonny Quest fans that I know about this, and also send this out to all of the Jonny Quest mailing list that are on the internet.
Rating: Summary: Just announced--to be released May 11! Review: Hanna Barbera just announced that this complete first season (26 episodes) is releasing on May 11, in addition to Jetsons and Scooby Doo box sets. Set to include featurettes and a "Jonny Quest File" to explore the characters of the series. Woo ha!
Rating: Summary: JONNY "CLASSIC" QUEST!! Review: This is one of my favorite cartoons from the 60's. "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons" are truly classics also. I remember watching "Jonny Quest" all the time back in the sixties when I was young. Truly better than the new one they have out. Which reminds me...They need to bring the "Flintstones" out on DVD, along with "Space Ghost" and a ton of other "CLASSIC" toons. Here are the air dates along with the rerun dates for that summer season of "Jonny Quest". I loved the sixties. 9/18/1964 "Mystery of the lizard men" 9/25/1964 "Arctic splahdown" 4/8/1965 10/2/1964 "The curse of the Anibis" 6/3/1965 10/9/1964 "Pursuit of Po Ho" 4/1/1965 10/16/1964 "Riddle of gold" 4/22/1965 10/23/1964 "Treasure of the temple" 3/25/1965 10/30/1964 "Calcutta Adventure" 7/1/1965 11/6/1964 "Robot spy" 5/6/1965 11/13/1964 "Double danger" 5/27/1965 11/20/1964 "Shadow of the condor" 4/29/1965 11/27/1964 "Skull & double crossbones" 7/8/1965 12/4/1964 "The dreadful doll" 6/24/1965 12/11/1964 "A small matter of pygmies" 12/18/1964 "Dragons of ashiba" 3/18/1965 and 4/15/1965 12/25/1964 "Turu the terrible" 5/20/1965 12/31/1964 "The fraudulent valcano" 8/12/1965 1/7/1965 "Werewolf of the timberland" 7/22/1965 1/14/1965 "Pirates from below" 5/13/1965 1/21/1965 "Attack of the tree people" 6/10/1965 1/28/1965 "The invisible monster" 8/5/1965 2/4/1965 "The devil's tower" 8/19/1965 2/11/1965 "The Quetone missle mystery" 9/9/1965 2/18/1965 "The house of 7 gargoles" 2/25/1965 "Terror Island" 7/15/1965 and 7/29/1965 3/4/1965 "Monsters of the monastery" 8/26/1965 3/11/1965 "The sea hunt" 9/2/1965
Rating: Summary: Losing Patience Waiting For This... Review: The original Jonny Quest series should be released as a box set on DVD. What could possibly be causing the delay releasing this? If Underdog, Speed Racer and Rocky & Bullwinkle can be released, there is no excuse for not releasing the best action cartoon ever made - Jonny Quest. Please remaster the episodes and release all 26!
