Summary: Are You Scared? Well, God is always with you.
Review: In this, the first VeggieTales video, kids meet Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, and many of their Veggie friends while learning how to handle everyday fears.

In the first tale, Bob and Larry help Junior Asparagus, who finds himself too scared to sleep after watching a "Frankencelery" movie. Will Junior really have to call the police to get the "monsters" out of his closet? Bob and Larry help Junior handle his fears by reminding him that "God is always watching out for us!" The second story shows how Larry the Cucumber handles a night with some scary lions in a wacky retelling of the classic Bible story, Daniel in the Lions' Den.

Summary: A Great Video!
Review: My two year old daughter loves this video - and so do her dad and I! The first half of the story is about Jr. Asparagus who is afraid after watching a scary movie. The Song "God is Bigger Than The Boogie Man" is one of the best of all the VeggieTales songs - and that's really saying something because there are so many great ones! The second half of the story is a great retelling of the story of Daniel, and it includes a great song from the jealous wise men as well.

This is one of the best VeggieTales videos in my opinion - the songs are top notch, the stories are very well done, and the message comes accross loud and clear in a way that is meaningful for small children and adults alike [Hey, I sing that Boogie Man song when I start worrying about the Bills - its just as relevant to me and my worries!]. One warning though - since watching this video, my two year old is fond of saying "Just four more minutes..." when she's not ready to go - just like Jr. Asparagus!

Summary: picky parent form Atlanta
Review: I really loved this video. The content was very child-friendly and child appropriate. It was very entertaining and had a good message. The characters are so cute that my son laughs and laughs at them. Vegetales as a whole are a wonderful set of videos.

Summary: A wonderful childrens' video
Review: This video is simply wonderful. My sister got this for my four year old daughter for her birthday, in particular because she was exhibiting some fears, especially at night. Believe it or not it works. My daughter is no longer afraid to go to sleep by herself at night. She sings "God is bigger than the boogie man . . ." to herself and it gives her comfort. The video also has some silly moments. She and her sister will laugh hysterically. I like it because it truly is good, clean fun and is only 30 minutes. I find it amazing that there exists a gentle video that I approve of that my daughters also like. I would recommend this video to any parent of young children who wants to sneak in some religious messages in with the inescapable videos.

Summary: VT starts its infamous series
Review: The first half of this video is mediocre at best, with the plot being way too simple and the character's voices being quite odd sounding. The music is great all throughout, especially in the story of Daniel. While I did enjoy this video, I watch it for the songs and not for the content. This one is the starting point for the series and hence is not as good as all the others. Trust me, though, they get much better than this one. And this video wasn't half bad anyways!

Summary: Veggie Tales: Where's God When I'm S-Scared?
Review: This video is so good to help children keep in mind that "monsters" are really make-believe. It is Christian-based and has some really lively music which is very catchy. Through the Veggie Tales videos, my 3-year old grandson has devotedly watched and learned several of the biblical stories for children. Very entertaining and catchy!

Summary: "VeggieTales" are the best!
Review: All the "VeggieTales" videos are wonderful! This is one of my favorites because it was the first in the series. The "Daniel and the Lions' Den" episode on this tape has an especially good musical score. My husband and I are in our mid-30's and my son is 2, and we all love "VeggieTales"!

Summary: "VeggieTales" are the best!
Review: I'm a 36-year-old mom and I adore "VeggieTales"! It's hard to pick a favorite video in the series, but "Where's God When I'm S-Scared?" is one of their most special videos, because it was the first in the series. The "Daniel and the Lion's Den" episode is especially well-made and has some beautiful music and narration. But I'd recommend ANY of the videos--you'll love 'em!

Summary: This is such a sweet story! It warmed my heart!
Review: This is a must buy! I loved this story. Asparagus Jr. is socute and adorable! My daughter and I just love the Vegi Tales! Ilove to hear Asparagus Jr. sing! This story was so cute and it helped my daughter not to be afraid of the Boogie Man. The Vegi Tales are like a breath of fresh air in todays' world. I can watch these with my daughter for fun not to censor them like other videos of today. The Vegi Tales teach children good morals and values while entertaining them.

Summary: A Christian video that a Jewish family can enjoy too
Review: We got this tape as a present, and I was interested to see how the religious message was presented, since we are an observant Jewish family. There was one truncated New Testament reference ("For G-d so loved the world..."), but otherwise the stories could be described as "Judeo-Christian" -- based on shared concepts and the Old Testament. The only thing that bothers me about these tapes is the constant use of "HE" for G-d, while we prefer to avoid assigning a gender to the Almighty.
