Rating: Summary: VeggieTales is perfect for your 1-6 year olds! Review: I would recommend VeggieTales for all families with young children! With all the mindless entertainment for kids out there, VeggieTales is a breath of fresh air. My kids loved Lyle the kindly viking and I know yours will too!
Rating: Summary: Funniest Veggie Tales yet- even for grown-ups! Review: After watching "Lyle" with my 3 boys (ages 1, 3, and 6- they all love Veggie Tales) I find myself humming 2 of the tunes to myself- and I've never done that before with a children's song! We like most of the Veggie Tales, but I think this is funniest one yet. You have to hear the Viking wives singing- I highly recommend this video.
Rating: Summary: Best Veggie Tales Yet! Review: We've been fans of Veggie Tales since most people were still asking "Larry who?" and were thrilled to find that the first Veggie Tales program on DVD was our most favorite yet. For those that loved the compilation of the first Silly Songs video, this is a return to hilarity, with no boring spots anywhere in the program. The DVD also has excellent bonus features on the making of "Lyle", and the trailer for Jonah (due in theaters next year - Yes! on the BIG screen!) shouldn't be missed. If you love Veggie Tales and watch them as often as we do, be sure to buy them on DVD - they will last MUCH longer before starting to show the wear of having been played too much. Now we just have to wait for them to re-release the others on DVD!
Rating: Summary: Another smash hit! Review: The folks at Big Idea have done it again. This time they manage to do a Veggie spoof on Shakespeare AND Gilbert and Sullivan! Unbelievable. This video is an outrageously fun way to learn about sharing!
Rating: Summary: Classic Veggitales Review: Like a wholesome version of Monty Python, the twisted humor and excellent production values bring entertainment with a moral to kids and adults alike. My 3 year old daughter demands to watch Lyle at least 3 times a day...as a result, I walk around singing "Larry's High Silk Hat" in the most inappropriate situations. Although these videos are produced by a Christian company, I often think that they are valuable for all "people of the Book" (Christians, Muslims, and Jews) The closing Bible verse in Lyle is from the Old Testament, so it has ecumenical appeal. Veggies will help your kiddies to grow big and strong!
Rating: Summary: Veggies at their finest Review: Awesome movie. Really enjoyed it and laughed alot. One of the best one's yet!
Rating: Summary: The best yet! Review: This is, hands down, the best Veggie to boot! Archibald convinces Larry and Bob to allow him to host this episode. He then proceeds to host two segments. One is a spoof on Shakespeare's Hamlet (Omelet), and the other is loosely based on Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore. I laughed until I cried. An incredible production touting the virtues of sharing. Mr. Lunt plays a female character (Ophelia) and Junior Asparagus plays Lyle. Words cannot describe how funny this is. The best yet! I can not wait until 2002 for the movie release of "Jonah"!!!
Rating: Summary: Breaking down Scandanavian stereotypes! Review: Viking tales have always been one of my guilty pleasures, and this heartwarming video takes all the guilt away. I used to cheer as the Vikings would slowly, ominously drift ashore to raze a wearily unsuspecting village... setting fire to huts and laughing jollily as the natives headed for the hills................. but i would ask myself why? why was this all so pleasurable? thanks to this video, i've learned the answer! it's not all the violence, it's just that Vikings are fun! they travel the world! they ride in cool looking boats! they wear funny hats! they don't have to be mean, they can be absolutely adorable. just like our lovable Lyle................... i recommend this for anyone who views Scandanavians as village burning plunderers.
Rating: Summary: Lyle the Kindly Viking Review: We own all of the veggie tales and we love them all! They entertain the kids as well as the adults! I never have to worry about what they are watching when I put a veggie tales in. Or how much they are watching, when the movie is over I know that they didn't spend all day in front of the tv. They are the best inventions in kid entertainment yet! And the morals in the stroies realy rub off on my kids!
Rating: Summary: Silly & Good! Review: There is not a lot of good out there. And this is the first VeggieTales DVD out there. If you like silly kids movies with a Christian message, this is the one to buy. And if you buy this one, the publishers might release the other great VeggieTales stories on DVD as well. Go for it. Blessing for kids is in your reach!
