Rating: Summary: A fun filled action show with 5 great episodes on one DVD. Review: I first decided to buy this after reading many reviews on how great the action and humor is. So I bought it, popped it in the DVD, and I was treated to the "Fatest Thing Alive" theme song that everybody loves. Then, I saw four action packed episodes of Sonic and the Freedom Fighters' struggle to free the planet Mobius from Dr. Robotnik and his mindless robots. The episodes were Super Sonic, where Sonic loses his speed but still has to free the wizard's Lazar's magic computer, Sonic and Sally, where Robotnik creates a Sally robot to take her place and moniter the Freedom Fighter's every move, Sonic Racer where Sonic competes in a Robotropolis race which is really a trap from Robotnik, and Sonic Boom where Sally discovers the Dark Swamp and goes there in search of her father. All of these episodes are action packed and full of Sonic's lines like "Juice and Jam time!" and different personalities of each of the Freedom Fighters. I won't go anywhere without my SatAM DVD(as long as I have a DVD player to play it on)! The characters consist of Sonic, our speedy hero, Sally, a bright Princess, Bunnie Rabot, a half mechanical Texan rabbit, Rotor, a gentle but mechanical Walrus, Antoine, the french scardy cat that's jealous of Sonic, plus many more like Sonic's game pal, Tails. This is defenetly a must buy if you want animated entertainment. Heck, the popular Archie comic was based of this masterpeice! Also, if you beat the trivia game, you get a bonus episode, Sonic and the Secret Scrolls. Great fun.
Rating: Summary: One of the 5 Best Cartoons Ever! Review: There are certain American cartoons that proudly stand apart from all others for having brilliant writing, beautiful animation, fantastic story arcs, and loyal cult followings. They include Exo Squad, Gargoyles, War Planets, X-Men... and SONIC the Hedgehog. This DVD, my friend, is nearly TWO HOURS of one of the best cartoons ever made. Do not confuse this with "The Adventures of StH" or "Sonic has a happy christmas" or any of those other... Sonic cartoons, this is the REAL THING. Even if you're not a Sonic fan, or you're not into cartoons at all, you MUST buy his DVD. Until then, you don't know what you're missing!
Rating: Summary: Super Sonic was Super Review: I loved this so much. It was really good all action. It wasn't boring. I recommend this to ever Sonic fan out there. They will really enjoy this. especialy those die hard Sonic fans. So get it today. It's really worth it!
Rating: Summary: Support Our Sonic Review: The unfortunate result of being in the cartoon business is that shows as great as SatAM Sonic slip through the cracks of financing and airtime, never to be heard from again. This DVD corrects at least a part of the problem. Lion's Gate, coming out of nowhere, released this stellar, clean DVD of 5 of the best episodes from the first season of Sonic. Buy This Now...please. If you are a fan of decent animation that compromises very little and does not condescend to its audience, you must own this. Not to mention supporting Lion's Gate so they release another, until all eps are accounted for. To show you how much staying power this show has, I am 23 years old and have loved this show since '93 when it first aired. In this era of anime overrunning everything, rare, wonderful American shows like this are hard to find. If you are even a passing fan of Sonic, get this DVD.
Rating: Summary: It-tt-t's He--ere! Review: Sorry, i'm still in shock. This DVD has filled an 8-year hole in my life. I put in the DVD and literally dropped the remote when the intro started because my hands shook so bad. The quality's great, and has a easter egg episode in the included trivia game. I hope more are to be released. A must-buy!
Rating: Summary: Sonic ROX Review: In September 18, 1993 Dic introduced us to this wonderful show and I think it is a great compliation of Sonic. The episodes are pretty much in order. Hey, Dic make more Sonic dvds and when your done get started on Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground
Rating: Summary: He's back! And better than ever! Review: It's not often that a cartoon comes along that can be described as excellent! This is one of those cartoons. The series aired in the UK on Saturday and Sunday mornings. As an avid Sonic fan, I had to get up and watch it! Unfortunately, the series was never available on video in this country (ironically, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was), so I had to buy the VHS format from the USA. Now that we have the introduction of DVD, we have the superb picture quality, and the assurance that the disc will never snap, tear, snag or crinkle as is unfortunately common with VHS tapes. Long may this tradition continue, and hopefully we'll see more of The Blue Blur, in this guise, and with his Brother and Sister in Sonic Underground!
Rating: Summary: "Way Past Cool" Review: Honestly, I think that ABC should have never cut this cartoon off of the air. This was really a great cartoon that was well liked by Sonic fans all around,(but not Power Rangers fans; thanks alot, FOX.) Thanks to this DVD release, I can watch five total episodes all on one disc. I hope that there are more releases coming out soon, though.
Rating: Summary: Finally, SatAM fans rejoice Review: Sonic meets DVD technology! As he would say, "Way past cool!" I have not seen SatAM in so long. I have some RealPlayer and MPEG files that satisfied me for awhile, but no longer. When I popped this DVD in my player and saw the picture, I was HAPPY! Though the first season Sonic shows are not as good as the second season ones, the DVD was worth it for any fan (or any future fan). I can't wait for the second season shows to come out- which have better graphics and sound. All you SatAM fans out there, buy this DVD. Support Sonic. Show DiC and Sega you want more. Like to say more but as Sonic would say, "Gotta juice!"
Rating: Summary: Sonic in all his glory! Review: After 8 and a half years, DiC's greatest achievement finally resurfaces. "Sonic the Hedgehog" is everything a 22 minute cartoon should be. It's plots are dramatic without becoming over the top. It's characters are full of heart and soul, and it is easy to identify with any and all of them. Sonic's attitude comes across perfectly, kudos to Jaleel White for breathing life into the animation. Paired with perhaps the greatest female lead I've seen in American animation, Princess Sally Alicia Acorn, these two characters bring more chemistry to a cartoon than should be allowed, bouncing off each other perfectly. To this day, this series is what the comic book of the same name should be, yet fails to achieve, despite involving the same characters (not to mention countless new faces). Sadly, the comic book is emotionally comatose, and Sally is quickly being reduced to a damsel in distress as time marches on. For such a low price, you can't afford not to pick up this DVD. Perhaps it's too late to see more of this show, but we must do all we can to get this series out in DVD format in its entirety. Who can forget the massive story-arc of the second season, which encompassed all but two or three episodes? The wonderful buildup of suspense, only for ABC to change the series timeslot on the morning of its last first-run episode (Thank goodness I checked the program guide and noticed it had moved the night before)!!! This, folks, is what Sonic should be, you need look no further. This series sports not just Sonic with his quick wits and moves, but provides a range of emotion for the whole cast. You'll laugh, you'll cry, but most of all you'll have a great time. 5 episodes for next to nothing! Buy a copy for your friends, this one is a must have!
