Rating: Summary: OK, it's bad, but is it all that bad? Review: Ok, what we have here is a continuation of a trend that has been with us sine the endless horror sequels (Did we need 9 Friday the 13ths?), make a good first film and use that to make a low budget, stink of a sequel. The trend has come to a new type of film, and has gotten even worse, when a horror sequel comes out, at least it has the same feel (Scary), but this film doesn't even come close... OK, there's the back story I'm going to give, and here's what I think.... As a kiddy filc, this isn't so bad, sit the kids and they'll like it, (See all the 5's), and for that it gets it's second star. As a sequel, NIMH film, or NIMH anything, it's a horrid thing, from the pastel colors to the fact established characters don't even act the same (Since when was Justen and especially Brutus such wimps and Aunty Shrew like rats?). I tend to think that the writer never even saw the first, or even understood that it wasn't a musical. Why couldn't they had taken the easier direction and redid a book sequel, the time restraints (Common on all book to film releases) could had taken the extra stuff that didn't fit (Like Jenner being alive in Rasco) out. To further show the writers didn't even try to make a accurate sequil, there's the lost six, now, it was a good idea, but shouldn't that be nine, Eleven mice in the experiment minus Justan and Mr. Ages is the numbers, come on people, how can you miss that? Then there's the songs, and to be honest, there passable, the average fluff for kids and a couple are nice to watch, but none hold a candle to the original's score or Flying Dreams. Then there's why make this to a musical... it just shows even more the mass marketing that they were thinking, I figure without the music the whole film would be 35 to 40 minuets... less then a two part TV show (In defense, most musicals are the same thing). This goes to show what they were thinking when they made this, "familiar name + bouncy tunes + cheep everything else = profit". On a side note, even MGM knew this film wasn't really any good, it was ready long before its release and they waited. Why? They wanted a Christmas release so that last minuet shoppers, looking about for there kids would see it and remember the first (Kids from when the first came out are parents now). O well, this film takes the direct to home market to a new low, finding a place below even The Return of Jafar as the worst sequil, but if you got toddlers, they'll like it... then go get the first for yourself
Rating: Summary: An absolute disgrace of the highest degree Review: Robert C. O'Brien would be deeply offended at such a disgusting piece of garbage. He's probably turning in his grave right now. As for Don Bluth, he probably cried when he saw it, as it trashed his legacy for the next generation. As a serious Secret of NIMH enthusiast, I find the film to be a gross manifestation of the phrase "You killed it." I watch the fisrt movie on DVD at home, praying that children who are at the age I was when i was first touched by the film aren't watching this cheap trash. How can an animated film be this bad, you ask? Read the books, Watch the first movie, and you will be as appalled as I am. What was MGM thinking? Is this how they repay the greatest feat of animation their sorry corporation has ever witnessed? By trashing it? Uh uh. I think MGM owes the NIMH community, the children whose ideas of film they just warped, and most of all, Don Bluth, a BIG apology... Nevermind the Amazon rating, I give it negative 5 stars, if that.
Rating: Summary: Colorful,Enjoyable, better than NIMH 1! Review: The best animated feature I've seen so far! A little mouse trying to live up to his father is a great plot. I loved the songs. Especially "I Will Show the World","Just Say Yes" and "Make the Most of Your Life". Evil Martin is so funny!! I loved the statue of Jonathan Brisby. GO TIMMY!
Rating: Summary: Badly conceived Review: The biggest problem with NIMH 2 is that there is absolutely no emotional connection with the first film. This movie wasn't computer animated -- it was computer written. Awful.
Rating: Summary: Pure-D Crap Review: The first movie was my favorite as a child. When I saw this sequel, I wanted to throw a shoe at through the television. Whoever decided to make this movie must have never saw the original. Simply terrible.
Rating: Summary: Trashier than a Jerry Springer Episode Review: The original 1982 film, THE SECRET OF NIMH was a masterpiece in the world of animation. It had lush colors, beautifully drawn, lovable characters and an engaging (and unique) story. This 'sequel' is a disgrace to the orignal film, and is more of the quality of a cheesy Disney afternoon cartoon. The story is choppy and it is evident that the writers did not watch the first film. I strongly advise you to see the original, but don't waste your money on this video 'sequel.'
Rating: Summary: The Secret is <....................> Review: The Secret of Nimh was a dark and creepy tale, full of adventure, excitment, and mystey. For all you fans out there looking to capture some of the magic from that first movie ....STOP!!! STOP NOW!!! Don't go here.... Don't rent this.... Don't think about this movie..... I promise disappointment......On the flip side.... If you have kids...young ones.....who haven't seen the first movie at all.... This could be a renter...... Maybe a bargain bin type purchase.... Or maybe a gift from a well meaning grandparent...... I stress young kids... Note: I so rarely don't finish a film, but this one was shut off mid viewing. It just couldn't hold anyones interest. The only reason it gets a two star rating is because the movie was entertaining enough to keep 3 out of 10 kids from running amuck during my friends babysitting job.
Rating: Summary: Secret of NIMH 2 is a disgrace! Review: The Secret of NIMH was a dark story filled with dark acts and even darker characters. Secret of NIMH 2 is a complete and utter disgrace. NIHM 2 has nothing in common with the oringal. Timmy would've been better of dead then star in this awful movie.

Rating: Summary: To those who like it, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Review: There are so many flaws that I can't rank on them all. Buy the original SECRET OF NIMH because it's everything this film isn't, besides being well written, animated, and most important of all, entertaining!!!!!!
