Rating: Summary: Re-make needed Review: My initial reaction to this video was disappointment because of the poor video/audio quality. However, as with the other Wiggles videos, my toddler ended up liking it. There are enough songs in it that are funny/catchy. The negatives: - Poor video/audio quality - Greg's magic trick section seems to drag on too long (my son gets bored with the magic trick segments in all the Wiggles tapes anyway) Although it's interesting to see how the Wiggles evolved from a low-budget act (it's hilarious what the big red car used to be ---a cardboard prop they had to carry around), I wish they did a remake of this. But then, I'll keep it anyway.
Rating: Summary: It's hard to beat Party Time ... Review: After watching a friend's tape ("Wake Up, Jeff"?) and my own ("Party Time") I think that it's impossible to find as good a Wiggles tape as "Party Time". This tape doesn't have enough dancing (not as much as "Party Time") and the songs aren't nearly as good. Although I will say it is better than my friend's, which I couldn't sit through. I guess The Wiggles need to make some more tapes or DVDs of their more recent material.
Rating: Summary: 18 month old likes it.... Review: I wanted to plug my ears and crawl under a rock to hide from these guys. My 18 month old likes it though, and likes to dance to it. I guess that's what really counts!!
Rating: Summary: Our son is mesmerized by this one Review: Our first Wiggles tape was Wiggle Time, which is what my wife and I compared all the other tapes to. When we watched this one, we didn't think our 22-month old son would like it because of the low-budget production compared to the other Wiggles tapes we own. Boy were we wrong. He watches this one the most and doesn't want to fast-forward through any of the songs. Also, because it's not as well choreographed as the others, the Wiggles movements are simplier and more silly, and he tends to imitate their movements more. Definitely a worthly addition to your Wiggles collection. Get ready to Wiggle!
Rating: Summary: The Wiggles are a hit at our house! Review: This is our first Wiggles video, and I noticed that the sound and video quality are less than top-notch. However, my 2-year old daughter absolutely adores The Wiggles (I think she has a crush on Jeff), and that's good enough for me. The tunes are catchy, the dance moves are easy to mimic with my daughter, and it's basically benign, wholesome, campy fun. It earns my stamp of approval in that I can watch it repeatedly without gritting my teeth and thinking, "Not again!" I also appreciate the fact that the video doesn't have that commercial feel like other videos that tie in to TV shows, toys, and a multitude of other products (trying to prompt us to buy more STUFF). Thumbs up for this fun musical diversion.
Rating: Summary: Early Wiggles, but my daughter still loves it Review: I can only agree with most of the other comments here. We bought this after Wiggle Time, which is much better put together, and has a bonus at the end in the form of extracts from a concert, which is great fun. This is undoubtedly early Wiggles - the whole thing looks cheaper, and less well thought out, and the hairstyles themselves are worth the price of admission. The point is that small children don't look at the production values - my daughter enjoys this one just as much as Wiggle Time. It's the usual Wiggle mix of songs and dancing, perhaps a little more preachy than the later work, but it's not offensive, just reminders to buckle up your seatbelt, and to wear a hat when it's sunny. And after a while, I found myself enjoying it, because you can see how some ideas developed, and how some were discarded, thankfully.
Rating: Summary: Gets your kids up and wiggling!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I'm suprised by what other reviewers have said. This was the first Wiggles tape we bought and I'll tell you - my kids didn't care about funny haircuts or lackluster sets. They love this video for what it truly is - a wonderful upbeat collection of fun songs that inspires them to jump, dance and wiggle along. I love the music myself. Best of all, this video contains tons of little children dancing along with The Wiggles. We're impressed - and we just bought Toot, Toot and Wiggle Time to expand our collection. If they make my kids half as happy as this video, I'll be pleased.
Rating: Summary: wiggly fun Review: Thank goodness! Finally a video that is fun for my children and doesn't drive me nuts! These guys are infectious! My children laugh, dance and sing together like never before. And I can stand to hear them everyday. In the car and at home. In fact not a day goes by that we don't listen or watch the Wiggles. This isn't their best video but definately worth the $$. Move over Barney! The Wiggles are in town!
Rating: Summary: Don't Make A Big Production Of It! Review: This is absolutely the best kid's video out there. Sorry, but my 17 month old doesn't care about "production values" and neither do I! This video is an absolute blast. All the songs are great and the cheesey sets make it all the more fun.Sure, the newer videos may "look" better, but none of them can beat the fun and music of Dance Party!
Rating: Summary: We feel cheated! Review: Bought this video for my son who loves the Wiggles and we were both horrible disappointed. While the copyright on the back says 2001, the copyright at the end of the video is 1995--clearly the Wiggles earlier, less entertaining, lower quality work! The video is of awful quality (until the end when they advertise more recent videos), and the camera bounces around so much my 2 year old who LOVES to dance along w/ them, isnt interested.
