Summary: Awesome
Review: This DVD is one of the best I've seen in a while. The animation was great and very realistic. The storyline was very intricate and had a lot of twists and turns. I didn't expect it to end the way it did but there is no doubt that there is action in this and it starts right at the beginning.
The only thing I didn't like was the sound. It varied a lot, like the sound effects were so loud that it killed the dialoge every now and then but the animation totally made up for that. The sound wasn't too bad for the most part though, and even then, Vampire Hunter D is amazing. This is a must buy.

Summary: Great
Review: People seem to be dogging this movie here. The one about the american writers.. Well it was written by japanese writers(be it in japanese or english originally I dont know). About no japanese tracks, it was originally made for US release(as state on the webpage) and the animation was done to English(no bad correlation between the voiceactors and mouth movements). That would be why there was no japanese track.
Overall its a great movie and the first anime I've seen in a long time(since Unico when I was a kid I think).

Summary: DUB ONLY?! YOU MEAN THEY *THREW AWAY* THE ORIGINAL AUDIO?!
Review: As an a long time anime fan, I was horrified to find out that Urban Vision decided that they would not only skip making subtitles for *ANY* release of this movie (both VHS and DVD versions) but they would also be THROWING AWAY the existing audio and dialogue of the movie. The translations used in the dubbed version are much worse than the subtitled translations because they try to match up the mouth movements. Even beyond the translation differences, the voice actors really take away from the movie.

This was a horrible thing to do to one of the best anime movies of the year. The original Japanese movie is exceptional but such horrible voice acting makes it difficult to stomach many scenes, even for this die hard Vampire Hunter D fan. I will be boycotting all Urban Vision products after this appalling act of ignorance...

Summary: Just keeps getting better...
Review: The first movie was a classic, and with all second films, this one improves on it 1000 fold. I was totally blown away. I love it :) The images were sharper, more defined, and the scenerey was great. If you loved Vampire Hunter D (1985 release) You'll love Bloodlust. I know I do. :D

Summary: No Japanese
Review: It is disappointing to find that this DVD doesn't have Japanese dialogue setting. English voice actors for Anime are [bad]. I always hear similar voice like Goku(Dragon Ball)from all the animes, or either they all scream in the scene. Can't they afford much better voice actors?

Summary: Best anime to come out since Ninja Scroll
Review: This movie flat out rocks. Tons of evil characters and heroes that have their own unique special abilities. Almost identical to ninja scroll, but in the Vampire Hunter D universe. Buckets of blood to go along with stunning animation...This is what anime was made to do!

Summary: A MASTERPIECE, TRULY WORTH MY WAIT
Review: This movie is flat-out fantastic. I have no complaints. The animation is just beautiful, and the enigmatic D is very handsome. The story is very interesting. It opens with Charlotte getting kidnapped by Meier Link and her family hires D to save her. But it turns out to be much more complicated. Does this Meier Link truly care for her? Does she want to be with a vampire? Maybe he's not the stereotype vampire we think he is. I thought Meier was gorgeous! His voice was very sexy! (ooh!) The characters were so complex. Especially Leila. You'll have to definately watch her closely and how she evolves. D has some really funny moments talking to his "hand". The inner conflicts D faces are very fascinating, he is a very unusual hero. Grove was a very cool character also. I would watch this movie again and again and recommend it to all my friends, anime-friendly or not. Don't miss it! A truly treasured part of my anime collection. Much better than the first Vampire Hunter D 80's movie. Also don't miss the extras! The trailers and the top 10 are awesome!!

Summary: 2 stars for graphics, 1 star for plot.
Review: I have to say that the graphics were extreme! I loved watching D's entrance! However, I am not so easy to please. I need a plot as well. Here I was disappointed. You can tell americans wrote this story. The plot was very weak and did not even come close to doing justice to 'Vampire Hunter D'. Hey, but the graphics were good...right?

Summary: No japanese audio track!!!
Review: D is a great film, with superb artwork, animation, and action scenes - but i'm here to talk about the DVD itself.
Im assuming it was originally made in the japanese language, but the disc contains no dual audio track, and no subtitles. The dub itself is fine, but its always nice to see the original version, plus, the music and FX take prescedence over the voices, which can be very annoying and hard to hear at times.
If you want more insight to the film itself, i suggest you read the other reviews, but i thought i'd just warn some people about the lack of a subbed version on the disc.

Summary: Fantastic animation
Review: The first VHD movie tried to stay true to the source manga but failed due to budget constraints. This movie however is as good as it gets, the characters appear in the correct lineup this time, and the voice acting is much better as it was originally created for english speaking dialogue (the japanese had subtitles this time). There is significant use of CG (computer Graphics) but this is totally un-noticeable and helps create perhaps the best looking anime ever made, even surpassing Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell. MADHOUSE STUDIOS is my favorite animation studio, the did Ninja Scroll, X, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, a few spots in PetShop of Horrors, etc. Always top notch work from those guys.
