Summary: Better than the first?
Review: I must admit that I am a pretty big Blade fan and couldn't wait to see the sequel. Well, I can tell you that I was not let down. Guillermo gel torro(Relic)brings us Blade 2, which is packed with stunning visual effects, fantastic martial arts related sword fights with an amazing upbeat soundtrack. In this film we see Blade (Wesley Snipes), yet again hot on the tails of those blood-sucking vampires, however there is a new kind of vampire in town who goes by the name of Nomad (Luke Goss). Nomad does not only like the taste of human blood, he also likes the immortal taste aswell. In order to stop the Nomad, Blade must join forces with the Vampires!, with a little help feom an old friend.....yes you guessed it, whistler(Kris Kristofferson) is back.What a twist. So this brings us to the question, Is Blade 2 better than Blade?, Has Guillermo del torro got anything new to offer?. I think yes. Blade 2 is a darker and more scarier film than the first, which keeps you on the edge of your seats from start to finish. People will never walk the streets of Prague alone ever again, well, not without a couple of stakes, a litre of holy water and a U.V. torch anyway. One of the best films of all time!!!

Review: I had hoped Guillermo del Toro would do for the horror movie what John Woo did for the thriller in 'Mission Impossible II' - over-emphasise the source's American pop-comic-strip aesthetic, but colour it with a post-modern visual artifice unimaginable to the conservative minds usually responsible for big-budget action movies, achieving a kind of profundity through parody. And it's true that del Toro overloads each frame with more visual ideas than you normally find in a Hollywood action movie, which is as responsible for the dizzying experience of watching the film as the abbreviated narrative and relentlessly busy editing.

Although he is taking on the workmanlike role of continuing an established franchise, del Toro treats 'Blade II' like an extension of his previous work: from 'Cronos', the relish in odd, whirring contraptions, and the use of the horror movie for philosophical enquiry, not just into the usual horror ideas about vulnerable bodies, contagious diseases, the return of the repressed past, dual natures etc., but specifically into the attempts of rich old men using science to stop the aging process; from 'Mimic' the queasy mise-en-scene, with its underground caverns, squealchy gutters, phosphorescent lighting (all neon ambers, olives, reds and blues) dimly illuminating the wet gloom; from 'The Devil's Backbone' the circumscribing of the action in a kind of symbolic, interior space, in this case giving the violence, its preparation, suspense, execution and aftermath a ceremonial, ritual quality, a quality heightened by the prevalence of uniforms (as robes) and weopons as sacramental implements; here also is the theme of rebirth, and the concern with dubious fathers/mentors and children that unites the action's opposing camps.

Del Toro occasionally achieves some extraordinary effects with this over-determined staging, the dank griminess crawling with anguished, anonymous, eternally screaming sufferers evoking a kind of Dantean inferno. But only once does he achieve that heartstopping Feuillade/Franju frisson, when the signifiers of the pop serial are pushed past their limits to become pure poetry - the early swordfight between Blade and two masked intruders, its genre conventionality whirring against itself to the point where the human players reconfigure in choreography with the decor to create a huanting tableau. Unfortunately, del Toro's insistence on blurring the action, and subsitituing clarity of narrative with noise and sensual excess, means such an effect can't be repeated too often.

Summary: Easily the best action film of the year
Review: "Blade 2" is easily the best action film I have seen this year. And I'm willing to bet that by years end few films, if any will come close to having as much action as this one has. From the openiong scene on, this film is non-stop action, from shootouts to wild martial arts fights, this film never stops to take a breath and at the end you will leave and go see it again. Despite improving on the original in the action department, "Blade 2" also features a much better performance from Snipes, he looks frustrated and confused in the first one, in the film he is much more lively and has some good comedic moments. This film is an improvement on the original in every way, and I see the "Blade" franchise becoming a huge one in the future. I eagelry await "Blade 3"

Review: Snipes is cooler, faster, and he's got more moves in Blade 2!!
The fight choreographing is awesome, thanks to Donnie Yen. This movie is 100% comic book coming to life on the big screen and I'll definitely have it in my collection.

Summary: Disappointment
Review: This was a disappointment. I liked the first Blade, but in this one they substituted action with violence. The fights have no complexity it's just bam!bam!bam!...Thats what you get in this movie people fight for 5 minutes and more and no one gets hurt, it reminded me of that scene in Predator where they blast their guns non-stop and hit nothing, only minus the wit. I wanted to leave several times when I saw this in the theater. There was also an uninspiring version of the scene "Logans Sacrifice" from X-Men, most of the audience laughed or said "ew!" The chick vampire is powerful pretty at least.

Summary: Simply awful
Review: I'm a huge Blade fan. I've seen the first movie too many times to mention and have watched it frame-by-frame to catch all the special effects. That being said, I was more excited for this sequel than anything else in recent memory. Unfortunately, this movie was genuinely bad. Snipes is absent for most of the fight scenes and the ones he's in are so jazzed up with special effects that they look like cartoons. Completely gone is the awesome, elegant fighting of the first movie. The other action scenes in this film look like low budget Hong Kong kung fu. The plot is sloppy and hackneyed with holes so large you could drive Blade's kick butt car through them. Hopefully, the Blade franchise will recover from this genuinely awful movie.

Review: This is the best movie i have ever seen. The blood, the guts and other cool things. The vampires were briliant and the actors were really good.

Summary: A master in the action
Review: Although I thought the beginning action was not as impressive as in Blade 1, it surely developed afterwards. I must state that this epic elevated Blade to a whole new level ..It left the realm of intriguing action adventure and embraced the adrenaline soaked phenomema of the horror movies. I must say I was literally on the edge of my seat, the action tigher than a tong on a suma wrestler...Prost was a baby compared to the archvillian in this pic....and boy did they weaved the action. Blade altough a blood lust character still expressed diabolical persona clothed in leather and shades....is there such a thing as an upper hand on our hero. This pic is not for the romantic but those that wish to be narcisstic let Blade enlighten you. This pic will definitely occupy my DVD classic collection with its junior brother Blade 1. If action is your first name then Blade 2 is definitely your surname.

Summary: ohh so exciting
Review: much beter than the first film. more blood, vampires and a great helping of narcotics. the effect applied when the vampires are destroyed although looking like millions of marbles, you gradually warm to then. wesley snipes acts like God in this role which turns out to be a truly great film, if not a little disturbing in places.

Summary: Arguably the Best Action Movie of 2002
Review: Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristofferson return to battle the undead in what will probably be the best action movie of 2002. With a whole slew of fight scenes, great costumes, great weapons, great scenes, and great soundtrack music, Blade II rocks.

Blade (Snipes) is enlisted by the Vampires to help destroy a genetic nightmare-being called the Reapers, which even have the Vampires themselves on the run. Assisting Blade is a re-juvinated Whistler (Kristofferson) and the Bloodpack, an elite group of Vampires trained to hunt Blade led by the lovely Leonor Varela and Ron Perlman. Blade is now the leader of the Bloodpack as they must try to defeat the Reapers.

Two hours later, you're going to have to catch your breath outside of the theater. Del Toro's direction is incredible, as you are right in the thick of the action. All the stops are pulled out for this sequel. However, the only drawback is the lack of a solid plot, but you pretty much forget about that after you get taken in my all the action sequences. The computer effects are equally dazzling, and adds to the gore of the film (which is definately a factor).

Everything is just right in "Blade II". The film is casted well, everything is shiny and glossy with a kick-butt attitude towards it. Camera shots and frame rate are queued with perfection, and the fight scenes during the film are what makes this production top-notch. A must see and a definate buy when released.
