Summary: Clatu Verate Nicto Translates To A Very Funny Movie
Review: Army of Darkness is yet another parody of various movies spanning from the past 20 years or so. Like Spaceballs the main target seems to be Star Wars with subtle shots at Star Trek, The Neverending Story and Aliens among others included. This is a movie that I do like a lot and it's a movie that has a lot of laughs but the great majority of those laughs are limited to Ash(Bruce Campbell) until the end. Much of the other characters until the end of the movie just weren't very funny. The wiseman didn't get a laugh out of me and Sheila didn't get funny until she got ugly. Arthur never really had much personality the way he was portrayed in this. Could Arthur have said or done something funny too?(The same was true for Henry) The ending of this very short movie was a joy to watch as the Army of the Dead awoke and attacked King Arthur's castle. The person who played the leader of those deadites was indeed hilarious and that was what I was looking for earlier in the movie.("I live again!") It's great to have more than one character belching hilarious phrases like," Give me some sugar baby," or ,"You got real ugly." Army of Darkness is certainly worth its price but I think the jokes could have been spread out more uniformly among the various characters. Give Army of Darkness a chance and you just might grow to love it in a weird campy sort of way. Hail to the king, baby!

Summary: Horror and Comedy Put In A Blender on Liquify
Review: Army of Darkness is a perfect blend of comedy and horror. This is the thrid movie of the Evil Dead series which stars Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Hercules, Jack of All Trades, Maniac Cop, Down Periscope, and more) and is directed by Sam Raimi (Darkman, For Love of the Game, The Quick and the Dead, and more). Army of Darkness is a top notch film that goes from being original to genius. Bruce Campbell gets thrown back in time and the only way he can get home is by obtaining the Necronomicon (The Book of the Dead). Along his quest he encounters hilarious enemies and situations. I have not met a person yet that has not enjoyed this film thoroughly from sheer fascination, hysterical laughter, or both! Superb acting, excellent direction/producing, hysterically funny special effects. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Summary: Army of Darkness LE
Review: AB finally gives you the 2d disc of their 2 Disc set release that is now OOP. All you need to do is pick up the AB Theatrical Version and you'll essentially have both discs. This contains both the Theatrical release and the Director's release. The Director's release is the one Campbell and the Director wanted for the theatrical release! Different than S-Mart ending, you'll have to see it to believe it. This DVD also contain 15 more minutes than either release and kinda shows why they were cut, the movie would slow down too much between the action and humor. Ax says 5 Stars if you the ED Series. 3 if you don't.

Summary: Director's Cut of Cult Favorite
Review: This is the same disc as the the second disc from the 2 disc Limited Edition that was released back in November. It has the same commentary, deleted scenes (some restored some as a separate supplement), and the alternate ending (which I guess every Army of Darkness fan has seen at this point). If you missed out on the original 2 disc set get this one. The commentary is worth the price alone.

Summary: It's not Evil Dead II, but it's close
Review: In this not-quite-sequel to Evil Dead II, our hero Ash has been sent back in time. Never mind that at the end of ED2 he's being hailed as a god from the sky and at the beginning of AoD he's in chains as a slave. These continuity errors are part of the fun. And fun there is to be had in large doses. It's all there - the cheesy dialogue, the cheesy special effects, the cheesy plot.... you get the idea. And it's great fun.

But it's not quite as great fun as ED2. Campbell is a little more reserved in his haminess (is that a word?), and the climactic battle with the titular Army of Darkness drags on too long (as if Rami fell in love with his special effects budget). But, all in all, it's recommended.

As for the extras - with both letterbox and pan-and-scan on the same disc, there's not a lot of room. However, especially welcome was the alternate ending (he made the right choice in keeping the ending he did). The special effects documentary was also interesting, but, like it's incarnation in the movie itself, running on a bit too long. All in all, however, a good set of extras.

Summary: Oh Yeah This movie Rocks!
Review: Demons, explosions, and violence. Thats what makes this movie so damn awesome. Compared to its predaseccors the "Evil Dead" movies "Army of Darkness" looks like an oscar calliber movie. With great monsters and awesome fights, this movie is like watching heavy metal music. This movie is hardcore and chalk full of monsters and demons. Anyone who says this movie is corny is just scared of the fact that they know how damn good this movie is.

Summary: Army of Darkness aka evil dead 3
Review: Warning. This film comes in three parts. Evil dead 1, 2 and the Army of Darkness. Each part can be seen seperatly, but for the best effect watch together, I have also seen 2 endings to the last part of this film. If you are interested in hearing about them mail me. These films are one of my all time favourites. This is a horror, suspence, comedy, film. Lots of blood. Also lots of really violent film deletions, or should I say sensoring. If you are unlucky enough to get a sensored version, then I would be very sorry for you, but this film doesn't rely on scenes's of incredible viloence anyway. so still worth the buy.

Summary: Never has horror and comedy been combined so well
Review: The filming in each of the three Evil Dead movies is simply amazing. Some of the sequences make you wonder how in the world they ever thought up this stuff. While the first two are a little more horror and this is a little more comedy, they are all classics. Bruce Campbell is great and is also one of the only actors that can truly pull off the many one-liners that are present in these films. I have heard of a sequel coming out in the form of a computer game. This might put off some avid movie buffs, but with Bruce Campbell back in the picture you can sign me up!

Summary: It's suprising this thing ever got made!
Review: This odd one is about this misadventures of a typical male who gets sent back into the middle ages. There he meets up with a few knights and more than a few arisen dead. This movie is the third in the Evil Dead Series. A series that has scared and humored. I had the luxuary of seeing this movie in the theaters and was taken in by it. This is a great movie for any guy to rent. The movie runs like a video game, and never has a dull moment. Buy this and you will definitely get your moneys worth.
