Summary: Not great, but not bad at all
Review: This movie was very enterteining.Although I was expecting the same old science fiction movie about a group of persons beeing chased by a monster, I realized that this movie has some plot twists that makes it a little different from the rest.
Of course, not including "Aliens".

When a spaship suddenly needs to make an emergency land in a unknown planet and only a few people survive, we are telling you the begining of Pitch Black.
This group of like eight people will have to find a way to hide from this strange and powerfull aliens that live on the planet in the pitch black dark.
But why do they have to hide if this planet has 3 suns?, 'Cause ther's an eclipse coming on, and the survivers needs to get the hell out of there.

I thought that this movie had one of the most impressive, well done and original crash scene. It was so cool.
Then, when the aliens appeared, they looked like a bunch of crows flying fast. But then we could see thath they were bigger than a crow, scarier than a crow and obviously more dangerous than a crow.
This aliens were really bad.

Vin Diesel was great, he made the movie. That eyes were so cool. And the sun glases too,
Radah Mitchell was excellent, she's so beautiful and talented. It was a real shame that she...well...you know(Spoiler).
The little girl/Kid was fine, she/he knew how to act.

A lowdown of thi movie was that it started with a blast and slowdowned a lot after they investigated the planet.
But the last 30 minutes were awesome, and the end is totally unpredictable.

Pitch Black is an interesting movie for a boring day.

Summary: The best since ALIENS and PREDATOR....
Review: Before Vin Diesel soured himself in bad Rob Cohen films (like the POINT BREAK rip-off THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS), he was the coolest of the cool playing Riddick, a convict sentenced to life imprisonment on some faraway planet. When his ship crashes into a seemingly lifeless world, he and the survivors are forced to unite when darkness falls and the planet's hidden residents come out to play. PITCH BLACK doesn't break new ground because of its underwhelming beasties, but instead because it is a science fiction "creature feature" that focuses heavily on character development. You actually care for these survivors, and that makes the movie work on a level that cripples so many others in its ilk. Add some splendid performances to the mix by the gorgeous Radha Mitchell, the unpredictable Cole Hauser, and THE THING's Keith David, and you have the best interplanetary thriller since ALIENS and PREDATOR.

Summary: The bad vs. The hungry
Review: My friend hated this movie, but he was expecting a horror movie. I love it for the details. The acting isn't perfect, but hey...

Ship transporting a whole bunch of not-so-rich people, one rich preson going the scenic route, and one psycho prisoner with guard crashes on the nearest survivable planet after being holed by an asteroid. The planet was once colonized and hasn't been explored since (one gets the feeling space travel & colonization arn't really controlled or coordinated by any single government in this universe). There are aliens, and they arn't really intelligent or friendly.

Cool bits? The lighting in the movie has been altered to show that other planets probably would not have a sun with the same visable light spectrum as earth. The aliens don't look like people at all. And there's a good bit where you ... ok, I won't give all the good bits away. But it's really cool. And is has Vin Deisel, acting waaaaay better than in anything else I've seen him in... and looking yummy...

Review: This movie start well but it gets boring and uninspiring afterward. Overall: Mediocre.

Summary: want to jump on vin diesel . . . .
Review: I origionaly thought this movie about 3 and 1/2 stars, but the more I see it, the more I like it. Any girl (or guy for that matter) who thinks vin Diesel is hot will love this movie. The whole thing is him stalking around in a tight black tank top and acting like a badass. I really don't see how the other main charactor, Fry or whatever her name is, resisited the urge to jump on him and start... And further more ...But other than that, it really is a pretty good movie, and even if it had some other not so hot guy in it, probably would have enjoyed it anyway.

Summary: Damn
Review: this movie is fantastic....it gives off the look of an underbudget film (maybe it is, I dunno) but it is a damn good film. it puts vin diesel at his best. this is the pinnacle of his acting skills...you put a scarey looking guy in a murderers position, its fireworks....its like puting Hanibal in Red Dragon.....DER its a fit.

Summary: Recommendation
Review: For the most part, Pitch Black is your basic sci-fi horror movie. You've got a group of people who want to survive but are forced to learn how to do so by trial and error. It's true to the genre, in my opinion.

However, what really makes this film stand out is: 1) it doesn't show us the monsters too clearly too early, 2) the stunning photography during the first half of the film (before nightfall), and 3) fantastic character development.

The character development is the most interesting part of the film and I've watched it often just for that. Vin Diesel is spectacular in his role, as is Radha Mitchell and several others. The role reversals and character developments and humor make this film very fun.

Summary: very impressive edge of the seat film!
Review: I was told that Vin Diesal would be the next big action film star, but I was unfamiliar with him until this film and I must say based on this, he will be around and making some excellent films.

This is basically a redo of Aliens, but boy what a good one!! A spacecraft travelling along, is hit by space debris and causes the ship to crash land. The Captain is killed leaving their female pilot, a bounty hunter and his prisoner and various other travellers on a planet with three suns. The immediate danger is the need for water, so they strike out in search, but come upon an abandoned colony. But no colonists. They soon discover that 22 years ago, the people were attacked by creatures of the night, sort of a cross between a dragon and a bat that feed on human flesh. The pilot contends with the struggle between the drug addict bounty hunter and his killer prisoner (Vin) and they all fight to survive first the desert planet, then the coming of the 22 year solar eclipse that sets the monsters of the dark loose.

It is taught, edge of the seat action, with great writing, direction and super acting from the whole cast.

One very great Sci-FI film!!
