Summary: Darkness arises as the 3 suns set.
Review: This is a sci-fi movie about a ship carrying a group of people and an escaped convicted murder (played by Vin Diesel). Their ship is hit by meteors and they crash land on a strange planet. This planet has 3 suns. All hell brakes lose when the 3 suns all set at once, which happens every 22 years. Total darkness, or as the total says it -Pitch Black-. This planet is over taken by these alien creatures that only come out in the darkness. Vin Diesel's charter can see in the dark luckily, and he can help them get to the new ship... or will he?
I think this is a good movie, and I would recommend this for any Vin Diesel fan, or any sci-fi fans. This movie is rated R because of the violence, gore, and language... but it's still a grate movie.

Summary: When the Suns go down
Review: What an amazing movie! A fabulous if relatively unknown cast of characters headlined by one star (Vin Diesel) brings this movie to life. The plot is simple; a marooning on an arid, seemingly deserted planet that turns into a veritable charnal house when the sun goes down. There is the docking pilot-turned-captain (Frys) who attempts to save the survivors, and working with her is a mercenary who cons his way around as a police officer (Johns) trying to bring a cold-blooded, brilliant killer (Riddick) back to civilization.

After the untimely and horrific deaths of a miner, and a child of a holy man, the survivors realize that they aren't alone. The planet is inhabited by some blood-thirsty avian/reptile beasts who only come out when the suns go down. This may sound cheesy, since most "beasts" are afraid of the dark, but in this case, the sun never comes back up...the world goes dark in a total solar eclipse that is supposed to last 22 years.

Human nature comes into play as the survivors must fight through the dark to survive. Their only weapon is light, and the only ticket off the dark planet is an old abandoned skiff that has been derelict for years. The complexity of the charaters, and the stunning shots of the desolate wasteland make this film a nightmare come true.

Summary: Loved It!!!
Review: This was a good movie. It explores what people would do to save themselves when placed in complicated circumstances. I hate that the person who starts to humanize Riddick gets killed in the end.

I enjoyed watching the movie with the commentary of the actors and director. Even though Vin Diesel said it was asinine to do so, I think the talking made it seem as if I wasn't watching the movie alone. I appreciate the company. (Listening to Vin's "so sexy" voice makes it a pleasant experience). If you don't like when people talk back to the movie screen, watch it without the comments.

Summary: an average film
Review: Pitch Black is highly overrated. Everyone says it's good but I think it's just boring. The action doesn't kick in for at least an hour and when it starts to get interesting it's suddenly the end of the film. I'm sorry but I cant stand this film.

Summary: Great, classic sci-fi/scary movie
Review: I was disappointed when I saw the Fast and the Furious because I was one of the few that saw this movie before F&F. Vin plays such a bad mofo that he makes disgruntled postal employees look happy. It was the ideal role to break him. The acting is solid although fairly stereotypical for a scary movie. Good flick with some good cinematic features (love the cranked whiteness). A definate must for anyone that likes sci-fi based scary movies (like Aliens, etc).

Summary: Awesome!
Review: My hubby forced me to watch this movie. Now he has to force me to stop watching it. I loved it(so did hubby)! A really great mental escape movie. If you want to have fun and not think, this movie is for you. I loved it so much, I bought the DVD. I also bought Vin Diesel's other movie XXX. BTW, Vin sizzles! I can't think of anyone who could've played the lead character's role (Riddick) any better than Vin. In the movie, too bad Riddick and Caroline didn't get together. But then again, if they did, that would've detracted from Riddick's murderous persona and possibly affected the movie's overall impact on the audience. But a kiss wouldn't have hurt (even a quick and forceful one).

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! A must for your sci-fi collection!

Summary: Better than I had thought it would be
Review: Before Vin Diesel got billed as the next action hero, he starred as a convicted murderer being transported on a ship through space. Among other passengers on the ship are a tough captain (Radha Mitchell), a drug addicted cop (Dazed & Confused's Cole Hauser), and some other characters played by Keith David and Farscape's Claudia Black. When the ship crashes on an uncharted planet, the surviving passengers are forced to band together to survive against the planet's indigenous vicious creatures. The plot and storyline are far from original, but the excellent acting (including the surprisingly well acted role by Diesel) and superb directing from David Twohy (The Arrival) make Pitch Black a high grade B movie that is a great guilty pleasure.

Summary: A Real Cool Movie!
Review: Pitch Balck is one Sci-fi action Thriller you don't want to miss.
Staring Vin Diesel(xXx,Knock around Guys), Radha Mitchell(High art, Phone Booth). for one I'm a sucker for a good action movie, let along a good sci-fi movie and this is a nice mix of both. I'v been a Vin Diesel fan ever since The Fast and the Furious, and i thank this is a better movie. Vin is the same guy in all of his movies, so if you like vin's other movie's you will like this one. Co-staring Cole Hauser(Hart's War), Keith David(Marked for Death). try out Predator or blade.

Summary: Art imitating night.
Review: This had all the makings of an interesting project, but ultimately it falls between two stools. Is it an art project, or is it a Hollywood blockbuster?

The premise is simple; put Vin Diesel and some other actors in a windowless room, turn out the lights and then film the action. With only your hearing to guide you, two hours of mayhem ensue as Diesel kicks off in a big way when Rahda Mitchell states that "The Fast and the Furious" was rubbish.

However, eventually the noise of screams, breaking glass and even a screeching tyre noise (suggesting to me that some effects have been added in for comic effect) becomes tiresome. Only the hardcore fans of Diesel's gravelly tones will make it through two hours of this.

Astonishingly, this video doesn't feature subtitles which is a disgrace.

Unimpressive, and a poor addition to the Diesel collection. Leave it alone. Leave it!

Summary: Movie kicks Butt
Review: This movie is a must for a Sci-Fi fan. Not only do you get an original story (which is kinda rare in the genre these days) you also get a dose of Vin Diesel. It has many twists and turns that by the end you are definately satisfied.
