Summary: summer escapism at it finest
Review: I am such a fan of the Indiana Jone's series that I went into "The Mummy" totally prepared to hate it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered how much fun this movie was....campy thrills, ample humor, likeable cast and great special effects all combine for an entertaining joyride of a summer movie.

Summary: Awesome!!
Review: This is one of my favorite movie's of the year. It has great special effects and keeps you on the edge of your seat.I had to get it the day it came out, today. I'd recommend this to anyone!

Summary: Not "Great" but a "Good" one!
Review: All right - I admit, the movie is good: Good jokes, good action, good sound, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G special effects, a little bit of frightning here, a little bit of frightning there.. Well, ok, so what this a "4 star movie" and not "5 star"? It's resemblance to Indiana Jones! I know it's a totaly different story and all, but I can't help it - It's just too similar in the music, the places shown and the characters..

Summary: Great Trailer - Terrible movie
Review: The trailer does an excellent job of bamboozling you into thinking this will be a spectacular movie. It's attempt at comedy were near-insulting. The acting reminded me of high school drama. This movie is definitely for the younger folks. 2 stars for effects only.

Summary: Finally a good Indiana Jones-Like Movie!!!
Review: I hate to compare this to Indiana Jones even though Brendon pulls off a good similarity to Harrison, they are still completely different movies. I admit I had my doubts that the story or the acting would be any good, but after veiwing it at the theator I couldn't wait to get the DVD version. This movie ranks up there as a good entertaining film for 1999. Thanks!

Summary: One of the best movies of the year!!!!!!!
Review: This movie was fantastic!!! The special effects are outstanding!! This movie was not what I had expected, it was better. I almost fell off my seat laughing so hard. I really liked the parts when they unleashed the 10 plagues. That had to be the coolest ever!!!!!!

Summary: Youre not supposed to take this seriously
Review: Why did everybody take this seriously? The acting wasnt perfect and the story wasnt too great but i dont think its supposed to be.The great effect make it even better.Best movie this year after The Matrix and Wing Commander

Summary: Fantastic, one of the year's best

Summary: The Mummy can't make up it's mind what it wants to be.
Review: Besides spectacular photography and great sets, this film lacked the terror and suspense one would expect.Frazer was good as the hero but the creature was a major dissapointment.Perhaps the producers should have watched some of the Hammer films for inspiration. No one did it better than them.Even though I thought it was fun I wanted to walk away terrified and I wasn't.Oh well, better luck next time.

Summary: Adventurous And Lots Of Fun!
Review: "The Mummy" by Anthony Sommers is the type of film you watch just to have fun. You don't need to notice all the detail in character development or screenplay, you just...have fun. "The Mummy" is ludicrous, slapped together, but hey, I was never bored. The special effects are really what keeps the film together. They are incredible to look at and admire for all the detail in them. But I also loved "The Mummy" because it revives the classic tradition of Hollywood adventure movies like "Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade." Even the score by Jerry Goldsmith is in the classic tradition of "Lawrence Of Arabia." Maybe "The Mummy" isn't a "masterpiece," but it's a hell of a good time at the movies!
