Rating: Summary: For continuity, skip Jaws 3D, watch this one Review: Jaws, a classic. Jaws2, a decent, if not somewhat repetitive sequel. Jaws 3 (whether it's in 3D or not) is just plain old sad. Jaws 4 eeks past the third stinker if only for the fact that the opening of the film gives us a handful of the original characters from the first two films, played by the original actors. If only the writer had left the action in Amity and focused the story on Mrs. Brody's inner nightmares, we might have had a decent follow-up. Instead, we get an inane trip to the Bahamas. This one put the nail in the franchise's coffin.
Rating: Summary: LARD! Review: Jaws The Revenge is like a piece of lard on a bad day. The mind boggles that they could have made a sequel EVEN worse than Jaws 3. Jaws and Jaws 2 are miles and miles better.
Rating: Summary: Just when you thought it was safe to rent a video... Review: This film was in trouble before it was even shot. Michael DeGuzman wrote the worst script ever written and spending 90% of film's budget on Michael Caaine so he could buy a new house certainly didn't help the film. It stinks. DON'T BUY IT. Just buy the first 2 Jaws films.
Rating: Summary: Piece of maggot-invested garbage Review: The 3rd Jaws sequel is a pathetic waste of film that is a sheer insult to Spielberg's classic Jaws. I give it a turkey. DON'T BUT IT!
Rating: Summary: WHY? Review: WHY?HOW??WHO??? Why does the shark want revenge against the Brody's? If it can understand such concepts of revenge I'm sure it can understand that the Martin Brody was just trying to defend himself in Jaws. How does the shark know who is a Brody and who isn't? How can a shark stand on it's tail and roar like a lion? How can Michael Caine be dry after being underwater? How can Ellen Brody have flashbacks to scenes in Jaws she never witnessed?? Who wrote the film? I'd like to K--- them. LOL. Hope you enjoyed my little review; I enjoyed writing it 100000 times more than I enjoyed watching Jaws The Revenge.
Rating: Summary: What can I say-Its a very bad movie! Review: Those poor Brody's! Why did the filmakers have to put them through so much! JTR was made with the assumption that Jaws 2 and Jaws 3 never happened. Therefore, Sean Brody isn't terrified of the water. Well he should be; he gets to die one miserable death. If you don't want to have nightmares-close your eyes and ears when he gets him arm bitten off. While your at it, Keep them closed till the movie is over and you'll have avoided a very unpleasant film experience!
Rating: Summary: The worst movie ever made. Period. Review: Jaws the Retarded, I mean, Jaws The Revenge is a failure on every level. It's a stupid, pointless, unenjoyable movie, its rediculous, it doesn't make sense, and it ruins the Brody family and even hurts the previous 3 Jaws films. It even makes Jaws 3 look pretty darn good! The film opens with Loraine Gary(Ellen Brody) and Mitchel Anderson(Sean Brody). I immediently didn't like the fact the Brody character we most cared about, Martin Brody, the hero of the good Jaws films( Jaws and Jaws 2) was gone. He's dead. Sean, the younger of the Brody brothers is the new chief of police in Amity island. Immediately this a continuity error. In Jaws 3 Sean didn't want to do anything with the ocean after the trama he was put through in Jaws 2. But in interviews Joseph Sargent said he considered his Jaws film to be the only REAL sequel to Jaws. Anyway, Sean is sent out a boat to do something or another. As reaches the to get something out of the water, something emerges and hits him. This is where the film gets utterly repulsive. Sean notices that his arm has been bitten off. He goes into a horrible state of shock that is extremely disturbing to watch. He screams for help. He bangs his remaining arm on the boat so someone will hear him. Then the shark rises again and pulls his entire body into the water. As he shark ravages his body he screams for help but the X-mas carrolers drown out his screams. That had to be the most cruelest death scene I'd ever been unfortunate to see. It isn't scary, it was numbing. Utterly tastless. Ellen is told and shown the remains of her son at the police station. Obviosly she is extremely upset. Her other son, Mike(Lance Guest) and his family come to amity to Sean's funeral. The funeral scene is extremely empty. No attempt for genuine emotion is made( by the writer, actors or the director) so we get flashback scenes to the original where Sean imitates his father!!! I hate that because IT firmly states that this movie is the REAL sequel to Jaws. Ellen believes that the Shark came for Sean and she doesn't want her family to be in the water. Mike, who is a marine biolist( another continuity error to Jaws 3), insists that he is safe. Ellen and Mike's family go to his home, in the bahamas. The shark follows and the rest of the film is rediculous. The characters are unengaging. The acting stinks. There are none of the exciting scares that there are on the previous Jaws films. Michael Small's music is feeble compared to the previous films's music. Ellen's greiving over her family's bad luck with sharks is not enjoyable to watch. Jaws fans want an horror/adventure film, not a dumb depressing family drama! The shark in this film looks awful. It does redeculous things. It roars; it even stands on its tail. There is simply nothing that is enjoyable in this film. Jaws the Revenge was written by Michael DeGuzman. Anyone know a good hitman?
Rating: Summary: IT BOMBED BADLY Review: Okay, first of all, Michael seemed to age pretty quickly. If he was what, 12 years old in 1975, he was still in college at least when this one took place. And also, the body count was too low. You need at least 4 people dead! I remember when I was younger how badly I wanted to see this movie in the theater. When I finally did, I thought it sucked so bad, I wanted my money back! The first 2 movies were excellent. The third one sucked again. But, this one, it would fit best on some loser horror movie thing at 3 a.m.!
Rating: Summary: Bitten off more than it can chew? Review: When the only good thing I can say about this film is that it's better than the abominable Jaws 3-D, things don't look rosy. True, this film has an excellent opening sequence, and the scene in which the younger of the Brody brothers gets chomped is equally effective. But after that things go downhill and you're left with something that feels like a Saturday afternoon made-for-TV flick or a film which has had the frightening bits removed by the censors. The plot is just ridiculous. How could a shark travel halfway across the world in a matter of hours? Why did Mrs Brody have flashbacks to events she never even witnessed? Why does the shark explode? The worst element of the film, however, are the 'character is killed but then miraculously turns out to be alive even though his death was obviously irreversable' scenes which really belong only in groan-worthy cartoons. The proposed Jaws 5 has never been made. Perhaps this is a blessing undisguised.
Rating: Summary: This One takes a bite out of its predecessors! Review: If it's action, great FX, character development, convincing dialog, and suspensful plot you are looking for, this is the one for you! If I could give this movie 10 stars, I would. A tour de force, and perhaps the finest film ever made. But one question - why is its poor relative, the original JAWS, not available?
