Rating: Summary: The Mummy Kicks Butt Review: The Mummy Returns was a kick butt action movie, it had everything; awesome graphics, some Laugther, tons of action, some romance, and alot of Mummy's. Brendan Frasher played a spectacular role in this movie, also Rachel Weiz has a lot of acting in her. Arnold Vosloo played a awesome part as the Mummy, Imhotep. The story sounded so real because most of it was real, like the ten plagues of egypt, and the two books; The book of the dead, and the book of amun-ra. And about the preists, how they were mummified, and how they served there master. Some of the stars in the movie are Brendan Frsher (Rick O' Connel), Rachel Weiz (Evelyn Carnahan), Arnold Vosloo (Imhotep), John Hannah (Jonathon Carnahan), Oded Fehr (Ardeth Bay) Again This Movie Is AWESOME, I have the DVD right now, it is so sweeetttttttt. Later All

I wanted this one because of the special features that it has. I thought that this would make a great edition to my collection. This is a suspensful edge of your seat thriller regardless of what the critics say. I wish that the critics would give half the movies that they rate their fair due. This movie is so awsome I can't watch it enough. This is the best movie i've ever seen plus all the cool features that make it worth it even more. i wish that they could have included more features.

Rating: Summary: The Mummy Review: These critics have the wrong idea. Really, stop bashing this movie. OK, so it's a little...unoriginal, jejune. But, all things considered, it was a good action flick. You'll probably be inclined to watch it about 2 times or more. You are probably inclined to believe it's terrible by all the reviewers who complain. Well, for once I'd like to say, this is my favorite movie series (also see The Mummy Returns) and, also, just because it's not your kind of movie, doesn't mean it's horrible.
Rating: Summary: Fun Cinematic Experience! Review: Movies like The Mummy are made for one intention. That is to have fun! It isn't made to be taken serious. People down The Mummy and its awesome sequel for being filled with special effects and witty humour. I say, bring it on! The special effects in The Mummy were very interesting. Most were convincing, and breathtaking. Such as the recreation of Ancient Egypt, and the sand-wall. The watery spirit that went into Anck Su Namun was kind of campy, but fit into the movie. The casting was also great. Brendan Fraser was awesome as our hero, Rick O Connell. Fraser did well with his dialogue and actions, and was good with the one-liners. His reactions were funny too. Then there is the beautiful Rachel Weisz. Her character, Evelyn, went from being very clumsy (a cute scene) to being very brave (her face-off with mummified Anck Su Namun). John Hannah (Jonathan) was our comic relief, and so was Kevin J. O'Conner who played the wimpy Beni. Oded Fehr made a good co-hero, and Arnold Voosloo was the villian, the mummy. Voosloo has the creepiest eyes, so that fit well with his character. As for the dvd itself, picture and audio are great. I think the deleted scenes should've been kept in as to they were interesting, and added more action and suspense. But I guess they took them out for length. The rest of the supplements were interesing. If you're looking for a fun movie, then check The Mummy out!
Rating: Summary: A good remake Review: Filled with dazzling special effects and a new storyline, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz star in The Mummy. A 3,000 year old legacy of terror has just been unearthed deep in the Egyptian desert. Based on Universal's legendary 1932 horror classic, this nonstop action epic dazzles with state-of-the-art visual effects, top-notch talent and superb storytelling, that tops its sequel.
Rating: Summary: "THE BEST..." Review: I loved this movie! I thought it was kind of disgusting when I saw it in the theatres, but I've gotten over it. I especially like the part when Imhotep (a.k.a. the mummy) creates a sand-wall and makes his face appear in it. And I also liked it when Mr. Burns' glasses were broke and he was lost deep down inside the City of the Dead, Hamunaptra (in Egypt of course). And then he meets Imhotep. In this movie, Imhotep must forfill a mission that involves sucking people's skin off to regenerate. Then he goes after some girl names Eeve so he can bring his dead girlfriend, Anack-Su-Namun, back to life. All goes well for Imhotep until Brendan Frasier defeats him. That's why I like this movie because it has lots of action, and special-effects. This is a must-own!
Rating: Summary: Truley THE ULTIMATE MUMMY DVD Review: I've been anxiously awaiting "The Mummy Returns", and was looking for a copy of "The Mummy", and could not find one anywhere. This was about 2 weeks prior to the release of "The Mummy Returns". The reason was because this DVD "The Mummy Ultimate Edition" hit the shelves a week later, and most of the previously released DVD's were pulled from the shelves. I'm really glad that they pulled the old copy, because this is an Amazing DVD! Extra bonus material like the deleted scenes, Visual and special effects and commentary on the film by director Stephen Summers and the cast is great. What makes this material great is the in depth explaination the visual effects artists give on the creative process and how the Mummy developed from sketches to the final computerized walking undead version we see in the film. As a Film buff I found the directors explaination of deleted scenes very interesting. I can't over emphasize the detail quality that went into making this DVD. Right from the packaging, sound quality to the inclusion of the bonus material, and the easy navigation. This DVD was worth every penny.
Rating: Summary: A "definitive" third DVD release of The Mummy. Review: The 1999 blockbuster has been released for the THIRD time on DVD. To coinside with the sequel's theatrical release no doubt. But for people who want to own the best version of The Mummy out there, this is the disc to buy. It's basically the same disc as the original 2000 releases. Featuring the film in both anamorphic widescreen, and pan & scan versions (originally each were released as seperate editions). The new features to be found on this "Ultimate Edition" of The Mummy are quite good actually. The first and most important new extra is the addition of two new commentary tracks, to the one featuring director Stephen Sommers already on the previous discs. The first commentary track is actor Brendan Frasier alone. The second and much better commentary is administerd by actors Kevin J. O'Conner, Oded Fehr, and Arnold Vosloo. It's always better to have commentaries where multiple people are recorded together. Just makes the listen and viewing pleasure that much better. The second significant extra to this edition is the inclusion of a DTS 5.1 surround soundtrack. Quite a noticeable difference between this new track, and the Dolby Digital 5.1 track on the previous incarnation of The Mummy on DVD. Now for people who bought the previous versions of this film on DVD (this reviewer included). Is this edition really worth the money to own this film again? My answer would be yes. Simply for the fact that it features new commentaries and a DTS 5.1 track. For which I am a big fan of both. So the choice to buy, for me at least, was easy. For you, it might be a different choice. But I suggest not buying this disc unless your expressely interested in those new features. Otherwise you'd be paying for something you already have.
