Summary: The special edition is much better than the standard. Super!
Review: I am glad that Fox is releasing the directors cut on DVD. I have rented the Laser Disk version twice. It was a very limited edition. The video store where I rented it wont sell it to me! The added footage explores Ripleys motherhood. She is sad about losing her daughter and we feel a strong bond with her and the child Newt. This ties in with the Alien queen too - the strong bond of a mother protecting her young.

Summary: Easily the best of the series.......
Review: Aliens is the best of the series..... James Cameron uses his talents well in the casting and the special effects of this film.... To truly understand his vision you really need to see the uncut version.... Like the Abyss, and T-2 there is too much lost information that is important to the story. Cameron should not mess with perfection, and release his pictures uncut from the start..... I can't waiot to see the uncut Titanic!!

Summary: Glad it's being release on vhs as well.
Review: Since the director cut is also being released on vhs that means I can hold off on buying a DVD until they go down in price. Thanks Fox!

Summary: The best in sci-fi you can ever take in!!
Review: The first time I saw Aliens in the theatres I was about 8 years old. I remember seeing the sentry guns scene. But as I got older and watched it more, it felt like it was just my imagination. But when I found out it wasn't, OH MY GOD!!!! This movie should be #1 on every sci-fi freak's list. I can't wait for my Special Edition DVD to arrive at my house! 5 xenomorphs, all the way!!

Summary: Weaver does some more no-nonsense posturing
Review: I loved this movie, it complemented the original 'Alien' well, without competing with it. Paul Reiser was so good as that annoying, skanky guy. How dumb could you be to try to cross Ripley?

Summary: The best "Alien" film
Review: "Titanic" director James Cameron again weaves an intricate tale of the adventures of the surviving crew member of the Nostromo from "Alien" (1979). One out of two (the other being Cameron's brilliant "Terminator 2") sequels that surpassed the original. This motion picture will be marvelled on DVD and precise scene selection! Truly a brilliant modern masterpiece!

Summary: Absolutely stunningly created together with great acting!
Review: I really hit rockbottom when i recently could't find this on Laserdisc. I haven't got a DVD player yet, but this release will finally persuade me to buy one soon. This is just fabulous news!

Summary: Game over man, Game over!
Review: I must be dreaming...The Special Edition available on DVD! I knew I bought my DVD-ROM for a reason! This will be the first chance anyone without a laser disc player (like me) has to have a version of Aliens with the infamous sentry guns scene. I actually have a copy of Aliens from network TV with the sentry guns scene (not in the theatrical version) although all the curse words of course have been 'altered' ("We're in some pretty deep _stuff_ now!"). This movie has been emulated countless times but never equaled. Thank the Matrix for whoever is responsible for this DVD release!
