Summary: Every bit as good as(if not better) than the first Alien
Review: Aliens is certainly a different film than Alien was. Alien was a very dark and claustrophobic film with not alot of action but alot of suspense. Aliens tries a different aproach and it works just as well.No longer is it a crew being hunted down one by one on a little spaceship. This time there is awhole planet filled with these nasty things. It's no longer about trying to kill the alien becuase there are just too many. The film instead thrusts the characters into this hellish world and the only thing they want to do is get out of there. Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Paul Rieser, and Bill Paxton all do excellent jobs in their roles and make the characters memorable and interesting. This is a great movie and it's a shame the that series took such dramatic turn for the worse after it.

Summary: Aliens is a classic.. the best of the saga
Review: Cameron did a wonderful job with this sequel, with a name that many mixes with Alien 2, 'thou there is no movie named Alien 2. There is Alien, Aliens, and then, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection. Aliens is the best of these four, because it is the most action-based and the scariest ( the second best is The Resurrection, being the second scariest ) film of the saga. It is great, that this movie has many aliens, not just one, like in Alien, and Alien 3. This is as frightening as the game; Alien vs. Predator, and you will enjoy watching this film second, third, and fourth and beyond times, because this is a classic you should watch at least once... I have spoken, think what you think of my fast review, and get the message if you can, and buy this ( or at least rent, but I recommend buying it ), wether you get the message of my review or not. :)

Summary: Marines, We are Leaving!
Review: "Marines, we are leaving!" One of the most memorable lines from this modern day classic. Upon it's release on DVD - Director Cameron added an extra 17, or so, minutes of additional footage - which helps explains certain storylines within the movie. The video is crisp and the full vision of the Aliens' environment can be viewed. The sound in the movie theatres made this movie one of the scariest action films of all time - now we can enjoy the sound of the Aliens in our own home. (Just be careful if you have a good surround sound system - you may catch yourself look behind you to see if you can spot that Alien you just heard!) Also of note, is the "Behind the Scenes" portion of the DVD. It is always interesting to hear and see the movie being created.

Summary: Aliens is not "just a movie" anymore, 'tis a classic
Review: This movie is the epitomy of so many different talented people in Hollywood and could also be credited with fueling many different actor, actress, and director's careers. The special edition of the film adds a 17 minute segment tying the overruning of Hadley's Hope colony up to the alien derelict. Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn complement each other perfectly as Lt. Ripley and Cpl. Hicks respectively. You truly get a sense of the colonial marines being believeable people in their emotions and actions to their squad mates during dangerous situations regarding the aliens and a traitor. Excellent direction from James Cameron tops the movie off and leaves you constantly watching and begging for more. Superb film for all viewers.

Review: The first Alien was very unique, although it was more of a horror/sci-fi, and scared the socks of me. Aliens, made in 1986, is action all the way! Ripley returns in this fantastic thriller, with a great supporting cast which includes Bill Paxton, Michael Biehn, Lance Hendriksen, and Paul Reiser. Don't miss this one, you'll never forget it!

Review: "Aliens" is that rarest of movies: - A sequel which surpasses a popular original; - A movie with an unknown cast, many of whom (Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton, et al)went on to become major players in Hollywood); - A pro-military Hollywood flick; - A well-stirred mixture of scifi, horror, comedy, war movie, and political satire which somehow comes off as realistic nonetheless Now add a "Special Edition" which is truly significant to the mix. "Aliens-The Special Edition" includes about 20 minutes of additional footage to this classic popcorn flick. Believe it or not, the additional footage actually improves the movie, providing more background to the alien infestation of the terraforming colony and adding to the dramatic tension as the aliens attack the colonial marines and prove they are smarter than previously thought. For those few who have never seen this movie, it concerns the return of flight lieutenant Ripley to the system where her original crew had encountered a vicious alien species, an encounter which only Ripley survived. After drifting through space in suspended animation for two generations, Ripley finds that the planet where the aliens were discovered has been settled by terraformers hoping to turn it into a colony. The settlers soon find a an alien shipwreck and a cargo of alien eggs, after which all contact is lost. Ripley then accompanies a squadron of gung-ho colonial marines to the planet to investigate. Needless to say, this is anything but a routine mission. Director James Cameron had the onerous task of trying to outdo Ridley Scott (director of "Alien") at his own game. Powered by a superb cast including Biehn, Paxton, Lars Henrikson, Paul Reiser, and Sigourney Weaver, Cameron accomplishes his mission---his sequel is even scarier and more tightly-plotted than its predecessor. Grab a copy of this incredible movie by any means necessary, but when you watch it, do yourself a favor--leave the lights on.

Review: The special edition of Aliens is the best film-to-video transfer I've ever seen. Because it's the Special Edition you can see the dark background. Without the aid of the Special Edition you wouldn't see anything. One of the nice little additions is 17 minutes of added footage that's not in the original. And for the real movie buffs, if you have a great surround sound setup, this will blow your socks off. Also in Widescreen format. As good as VHS videos will ever get!

Summary: Action, suspense, horror, humor... and a statement to boot.
Review: To call 'Aliens' just a great sequel would be a grave injustice. This film despite being so action packed that you can hardly catch your breath is a great social statement about the value, toughness, and leadership potential of women. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is a rather reluctant heroine. Emotionally scarred from her initial encounter with the Alien species she agrees to accompany a team of space Marines (ooooohrah!) to a remote station far off in the galaxy which has been overun with that same alien species. Now Ripley's only there as an advisor of course but when the ---- hits the fan the true leader emerges. But even despite that take no prisoners attitude she displays perhaps her strongest character trait of all, that natural maternal instinct for an orphaned little girl. Not only is she (Ripley) the toughest and wisest but she hasn't lost that which makes her truly a woman. The story has much to say about how wrong our assumptions can be with regard to creatures that we consider inferior to ourselves. There's a great lesson to be learned from that. OK. Let's forget about philosophy, feminism and lessons and just talk about an adrenaline filled heart pumpin' blood drippin' gore fest. Because at it's best it's one of the great action flicks. Just non stop. James Cameron does a remarkable job of creating an environment which seems remote, eerily foreboding, and frightening. Bill Paxton is the perfect back talking, wise --- jarhead. A CLASSIC MUST SEE FILM!

Summary: Not just another bug hunt
Review: This movie is so great I can't even stand the fact that I'm typing instead of watching it. There is never a dull moment and the ending is quite a treat, since you would be 100% satisfied if it ended after the planet blows up! Aliens leaves Alien in the dust, not to say the original wasn't great, because it was, but Aliens did what a sequel should do: Keep the flavor of the original, but add some new spices. I don't know if that made sense. The extra footage on the DVD is not just to make it longer, it makes it better. By learning that Ripley had a daughter, the relationship between her and Newt is much stronger. I love it so much, and if you don't, you are a bad person.

Summary: Aliens - No way is this game over man!
Review: Well, here I find myself trying to write a review for possibly the best sci-fi/action film involving xenomorphs ("aliens" to the uninitiated). The music, story and special effects, not to mention the characters, provide what I believe to be incredible depth. The special edition with it's extra footage (showing the discovery of the alien craft) adds so much more to the film and ensures that those who have not seen or remember Alien, will enjoy it. Of course, the DVD version ensures that you see it in the glory that Mr. Cameron expected. Turn up the volume on your home theatre system when Bishop rescues Ripley and Newt from the mother alien - you will see, hear and feel what it's like to "punch it" out of a reactor about to go critical. Buy it - NOW!
