Review: "The Exorcist" is truly one of the most frightening movies ever made. You have this dark house which is visited frequently by priests to exorcise the devil out of a possessed little girl. Her head spins in circles and she is strapped to a bed spilling buckets of pea soup all over the place. "The power of Christ compels you!" a veteran father yells. Stinging holy water, ouch to the girl's face! The question of religious faith is brought to the viewer's attention, meaning you better go to church or else!

Review: this is the scariest film of all time. when i was a kid and saw this on t.v for the first time i was afraid to open my bedroom door thinking she was in there. what a shocker this one was. i now own this one on dvd and can only say one thing it is great and the scars on her face are much clearer. this one is not to be missed.

Summary: One of the best chillers of modern times
Review: After a quarter century, this is still one of the creepiest movies ever made. With mostly great special effects, fantastic make up (including Max Von Sydow in transforming him into an old man)and eerie spine tingling sound effects) this film hit audiences like a ton of bricks, and still remains one of the most influential films of all time.

The restored opening with Von Sydow in Iraq adds a lot of depth to his character (he IS the title character!) and provides some background to unearthing the spirit that possesses Regan.

The script is mostly good, although I can't help from feeling that a ban on religious profanity had just been lifted and Ellyn Burstyn uses it freely and uneasily like a little boy finally getting permission to handle his fathers shotgun...

Although the dialogue does get a bit stodgy at times, the story moves along reasonably well, creating some of the most memorable images on film.

Review: Simply put, the scariest movie ever made, and it's actually the only scary movie. This was excellent! Great acting, great plot, great dialogue, and REAL scares. The best of all of them. The only other movie I could consider scary is The Evil Dead (Part 1) Buy this now! This is how reality horror should be done. Yes this is based on a true story. Buy this and the biographey about it. The ultimate scary movie. Don't have your expectations to high, like most movie you go see. Use your imagination as well, and put yourself in the characters shoes. This isn't gore, gore, gore, it has a story, likeable characters that you care about, and amazing acting. Buy this, you won't regret it!

Review: The Exorcist has a most unique story as far as demon possession goes. It's not exactely the scariest movie of all time but it does keep you glued to the screen for most of the movie. For a demonic film, there is not much violence to speak of at all. This film might scare little kids but teens and adults will find it interesting.

Review: Simply the scariest film ever made. Watch this one alone with all the lights off. Anyone who says this films isn't scary is lying through there teeth. Yes this is based on a true story, and the story has been confirmed to be true! Things like his happen! I was privelged enough (extreme sarcasim) to witness one of these exorcisms. They are scary. The scariest film ever made!!!

Summary: The Exorcist (Version You've Never Seen) is classic horror.
Review: I only review the DVD's I buy. If I buy a DVD it has to be good. This movie is classic. I enjoy the added scenes and can't figure out why they werent in the original version. I particularly like the quick flashing ghoulish faces and the highlighted devil/statue scene in the dark bedroom. I very much enjoyed the directors commentary. And as always the widescreen/letterbox format is always the preferable way to view a movie. This one goes on the all time horror classics list.

Summary: This movie is the bomb!!!
Review: This is one of my favorite horror movies EVER!!!!! This movie is definetly not for Christians! It's graphic, profane, and very satanic! A 13 year old girl (Linda Blair) suddenly becomes possessed by the devil himself! The horror escalates to some very harrowing moments. When this film was released in 1973, the film caused mass hysteria in theaters, with people fainting and parametics on the scene! This unrated version of The Exorcist is not a whole lot different from the original, which includes some exclusive bonus footage. However, the never-before-seen "stairway" scene will put goosebumps on your goosebumps!!! This movie rocks!!!!!

Review: Lets get one thing straight right now: I would be lying if I said that this movie scared me. I thought it was freaky in some parts, but not really scary. Still, this movie is one of my all-time favorites. The cast is amazing, with Ellen Burstyn providing some good dramatic moments. The "Version-You've-Never-Seen" DVD is a plus because it includes many scenes that never made it to the theatres. So if you're looking for a creepy Saturday-night movie, try "The Exorcist".

Review: What can be said about this movie that hasn't already been said ?
Thank heavens they ended up with the cast they did ! Would this movie have been anywhere near as good with the original choices of the late Dana Plato playing Regan or Shirley MacLaine, Audrey Hepburn or Jane Fonda playing the role of Chris ? Surely not ! One of the wonderful things about this film is the cast, after all. They all play their roles to perfection. Linda Blair especially displays brilliance in the role of the sweet as pie pre teen girl who becomes possessed by a demon, wreaking havoc with her mind, body and surrounds.
Even though the movie starts with a slower pace, it holds your interest, right from the opening scenes through to the nerve shattering finale. This film was a masterpiece of special effects way before they were common place and still easily holds it's own today.
The version shown on this DVD is the 25th anniversary re-release with a few extra scenes. They include earlier scenes of Regan's appointments with doctors, which alters the story quite a bit from the first release. This time, by the time she is peeing on the floor and having her bed shake, we already know she has been suffering mood swings and the like. A few extra super-imposed images of the demon pop up in this version also. However, the most talked about addition is the amazing "spider walk". This is where Regan flips over doing a bend back and scuttles down the stairs in this manner, somewhat resembling a large spider. This act brings to the fore the menace the demon poses to those around Regan earlier into the film.
Also on this DVD release is an insightful directors commentary, an abundance of TV, radio and theatrical trailers, as well as the much hyped documentary "Fear Of God" about the making of the Exorcist. The DVD would almost be worth buying for this alone.
Overall, I recommend this timeless masterpiece to anyone not too squeamish to watch it. Bound to stay a masterpiece forever.
