Rating: Summary: I commend the makers for letting Michael Myers R.I.P Review: I give this movie 4 stars, mainly because they left well enough alone with Haloween 2, and didn't try to bring back Michael from the chared gates of Hell. They used a very interesting plot, surrounded by the elements of Halloween. Too many fans wanted Michael Myers again, and looked past a very interesting story. I say let Michael R.I.P in Hell. Expand your thinking. There are alot of stories that can be told around the elements of Halloween, without Michael being turned into some out of this world cult pawn. Michael was pure and simple humanistic evil. He wasn't the creature that parts 4-6 try to make him out to be. Hopfully H20 ends the Myers saga forever. Lets move on people. There is nothing wrong with exploring other horror aspects under the name "Halloween".
Rating: Summary: What's This? Review: This movie should have been named something else! It's not a true sequel to the other 2 "Halloween" movies. This movie made no sense!!!! I'd rather stick to better horror films like "Carrie" and "The Exorcist".
Rating: Summary: Not better than the others...but still good. Review: "Halloween 3: The Season of the Witch". First of all, I really feel a lot of the people here underestimate the movie. If you just look at the acting, of COURSE you won't like it. You'll think it's "trash" or "Crap". But remember the old adage: 'It is the story, not he who tells it'. This film contains a very provocative view of the media today. In fact, if we stop and examine, has it all ready happend? The plot is of mind control killing through television. Have we not seen a perfect example of this in all the high school shootings. I hardly think the film would be at fault for that, but it does demonstrate it perfectly, in a "horror" genre fashion. And just for the record, NO, I am NOT the director. Buy "Halloween 3: The Season of the witch" . If you start with an open mind on the film, and take it for all it's worth afterwards, you'll find it to be a entertaining, as well at provocotive, film. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Waste of everything Review: All I can say is that if there was a lowere rate I would give it to this movie.
Rating: Summary: This movie really puts a damper on the series. Review: This movie wasn't as good as the first two Halloween movies. It has nothing to do with the whole Myers plot and this is its main problem. It just seems like there was very little thought and effort put into this movie.
Rating: Summary: Look at H3 from a different light... Review: The "Halloween" saga will always have a special place in my heart for the horror slasher genre; Michael Myers truly is the most formidable force of cinematic evil (it's all in the white mask!) Yes, I am very well-aware that H3 is devoid of our favorite masked antihero, which was one of the reasons why it was critcally scathed back in 1982. However (though most "Halloween" fans will think I'm on dope), if one tries to look at H3 as an original horror story, he/she may find some decent attributes to it. For instance, John Carpenter and Alan Howarth's synthesizer score does go a long way to instill some chills during the first few scenes. This score takes the silver in the entire series just behind H2 (since it has the original Michael Myers themes recited by these same digital instruments). Also (but this is the engineer in me), I like the idea of fiendish mad scientist and warlock Connel Cochran (Dan O'Herilhy) having his own legion of well-dressed killer androids that seeks out anyone who interferes with his Silver Shamrock Company's plot for mass-murder. Finally, H3 has a nice pun to "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" woven into the story's fabric in that Cochran's Halloween masks are a perniciously lethal entity under the guise of an innocent plaything (just like the red flora in "Snatchers") that is spread across the nation like an unstoppable unholy tide, and it's up to a brave clique of people to attempt to stop the evil. At this point, I'll bet "Halloween" fans would stop at nothing to mob lynch me! However, I, like the rest of you, find some things in H3 to be quite trite and annoying. The special FX do have a cheesy 80's look to them, especially in the decapitated bum scene. Also, the thought of having a womanizing doctor (Tom Atkins) become the nation's only hope in stopping Cochran's overwhelmingly evil scheme doesn't bode quite well with me (80's yuppieism tries to make a turn for the better). But the most vexing of it all is the overplayed Silver Shamrock commercial jingo! After hearing that tune time after time again, I'd wear one of Cochran's killer masks just to end it all!!! Even with these little imperfections, H3 continues to be an amusing horror flick for me, both in and out of October. I just purchased it recently for my "Halloween" collection, and I definitely would consider purchasing the eerie Carpenter/Howarth soundtrack in the future. Sure, H3 lacks the ominous shuddering of Michael Myers' heavy breathing under that stark white mask (H1 & H2 tie for the ultimate best in the Michael stories with H6 in disappointing dead-last). However, as an original story concept, it does pull off some merit as a campy 80's spook tale of robots, the Druid occult, and murder.
Rating: Summary: where the hell are you Michael? Review: This movie is readly bad. It has some decent special effects, but thats it.The acting was bad,the plot was also bad and all I can say is,"Michael Myers, come back!!!!"
Rating: Summary: A MUST HAVE FOR HORROR FANS!!! Review: Yes, we all know that Micheal Meyers is not in this movie, but it is still better than some that do. The Halloween series was never intended to be just about one story, they were all supposed to have different plots. But people seemed to cry when Micheal Meyers was taken out of the series, so they just made the rest of the movies about him. Pretty unoriginal. Bottom line, this is a good, scary flick!
Rating: Summary: They bought the name "Halloween", that's it... Review: Has NOTHING to do with the others...it's brutal
Rating: Summary: HALLOWEEN????? Review: This isn't a Halloween film and the plot was absolutely horrible, this film should get one star instead of two.
