Summary: Billy Peltzer has a cool green jacket
Review: Gremlins is and always will be a classic. This DVD offers widescreen and regular formats which is really nice. It also has original trailers which are cool too see after so many years. My only complaint is that I saw Gremlins on TV a few years ago with special footage that was removed from the original. This DVD doesn't have those cut scenes. It would have been nice if it did.

Summary: .
Review: I missed the magic of E.T. by a precious year or two, and wound up as a Gremlins kid instead. I don't lament that in the slightest (although E.T. is far from a bad movie). Gremlins is a true classic, a dynamic, imaginative gem of the 80s. It may be mean-spirited and violent compared to E.T., but it is innocent and magical at the same time, and I adored Gizmo more than I could or would ever adore E.T. Intense for kids, but its intensity is what made it memorable and magical to me as I grew up. Films that actually may make a distinct impression on a kid should not necessarily be kept from him or her; he or she will not grow up to be a psycho just because you don't raise them on anything but Disney fluff. Gremlins, Labyrinth, the Dark Crystal, the Neverending Story, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, and Return to Oz -- these are the movies I saw as a kid that stuck with me and inspired a true sense of wonder in me, even though some of them scared me a bit at the time. Gremlins doesn't quite pull me in the way it did when I was young, but it still serves as a welcome and warming flashback.

Summary: Gremlins...Deep Thoughts
Review: Truely a masterpiece. It makes every human emotion surface while enjoying the storyline. Little fuzzy creatures who turn into horrible green monsters when fed after midnight...what a concept. Which leads me to explain why I gave it 4 Stars instead of 5...If you can't feed them after midnight, when IS it safe to feed them?

Summary: Jerry Goldsmith Does It Again
Review: Joe Dante's 1984 film was a wild imaginative treat. Jerry Goldsmith as always matches the material and extends the madness musically. The result is an aural treat; lively and infectious and deftly suggesting the film's demented humor. It is a tragedy that so many of Goldsmith's scores (including this one and especially UNDER FIRE) are not currently available.

Summary: Bye Bye Billy
Review: Just as Frank of Texas put it this ones a great for the 80's kid along with the likes of Ghostbusters and Back to the future. I'm all grown up at 20 years old now, but this brings back the child hood memories of what seems like only a couple of years ago, how time flies.

Summary: Best movie of '84
Review: Gremlins is one of the few movies that I was actually taken to the theatre to see when I was younger. I loved it then and I love it still. It is a classic in it's own little category. If anyone can watch the scene at the end where Gizmo says goodbye and not feel something, then you have no heart.

Summary: Not Worth The Price of Admission
Review: What was Steven Spielberg thinking when he made Gremlins? What a lame movie. Bad special effects turns what looks like a stuffed rag doll into obviously fake puppet-like gremlin

Ooooooooo! Scary!

A silly plot and bad acting round out the score. If you're seven years old or under, this movie's probably a hoot. If not, then stay away.
