Summary: A WASTE OF TIME
Review: John Carpenter hasn't made a worthwhile film since ... ummm ... since the Stones put out a decent album ... Alot of amazon readers probably weren't even born the last time JC put out something good, and this is no exception ... A complete and total failure, and James Woods is so mis-cast it's not even funny ... Ah, serves him right, I never liked him anyway ...

Summary: One of the BEST movies I've ever seen! REALLY COOL!
Review: I thought that this movie was REALLY COOL and GOOD! I wasn't planning on reviewing it, but, I saw all of the other reviews and I was appaled! James Wood portraid a very good vampire slayer. This is a MUST see movie (unless you are against gore). If you like good movies, you'll wanna see this. And be sure to notice that the average review for this movie was 4.5 stars, all you may see are the bad reviews.

Summary: Just say no.
Review: When me and a friend decided to see this film, we thaught it was going to be cool. But instead it was a real chore to watch. They start the movie out with a big killing spree where James Woods and a bunch of his friends decimate an entire vapire clan. Doesn't that sound awesome? Well it doesn't turn out that way. Instead it just looks stupid considering the vampire killers are slobs and idiots. The gore is unrealistic and it doesn't entertain. The heroes in this film are terrible, idiotic, uncouth, stupid and look slimy. Not a real tough guy in the bunch. But what makes the movie so bad is James Wood's trying to be a tough guy when he's just this puny dude who'd lose a punching match to David Letterman. It got increasingly annoying until me and my friend had no choice but seek shelter away from this turkey. We had only watched a half hour of it and we were ready to leave. That is proof how bad this film is.

Summary: Outstanding soundtrack saves unoriginal schlock gorefest.
Review: Please, JC, release the soundtrack on CD! The 5-star music just manages to save an average horror flick. It's simply not scary. Anyone who liked this vid would be gobsmacked by "From Dusk Till Dawn" -- same genre, much better and an equally brilliant s/track.

Summary: Despicable...odious...an affront to the very notion of film
Review: Well, where should I begin...James Woods hit his career zenith in O. Stone's "Nixon". Truly unfortunate he did not deem that effort a sufficient swan song, for he went on to make this drivel. I am by no means a vampire fanatic; nor a pathetic, goth-type; but rather, an individual with human tastes. As such, this film can only offend. I mentioned previously that it is an affront to the concept of cinema, yet it is much more: those wise words of the Bible "If your eye offends thee, pluck it out" most sadly (inevitably) come to mind. Ranks among Batman 4 in overall horror, and I am not referring to its alleged genre. This film stands as a shining testament to Hollywood's ability to create a motion picture so abject it can not even appeal to the sensibilites of the layman. Even its rendering of schlocky violence pales in comparison to such films as "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "Beaches". That's right, ladies and gentlemen, you'll find far more kinetic excitement ensconed in these little gems. If you are interested in a genuine vampire film, view "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

Summary: Better than the best
Review: This was one of the best Vampire movies I ever saw. It kicked bud, and scare the living lights out of you. If you like vampires/horror/action this is it. Take it and be prepared to face you nightmares, or leave it and continue living a boring life.

Summary: CARPENTER RULES! OK?
Review: Ive waited a long time for vampire$ to be made into film(& on that front the film is disapointing)...but on its own(IT ROCKS BABY!!!) John Carpenter is back(& w/vengence) As far as some of the negative reviews(dont know what u were expecting) Too much gore(its vampire film) JAMES WOOD IS THE MAN! The soundtrack is vintage CARPENTER(sorry that manson & NIN wasnt on the soundtrack) This film expands on Carpenters devotion to John Ford & the westerns of old & is simply a good popcorn movie! BTW the F/X in this movie are out of this world(cat's splitting was awesome!) Def one of the best opening scenes in many a year! If u like VAMPIRE FLICKS SEE THIS>IF U DIG CARPENTER SEE IT. JUST REMEMBER TO BRING WOOD(OAK)!!!

Summary: It Stinks!
Review: I really enjoy James Woods and his expected intensity on film. However, this movie was very disappointing after an excellent beginning. There was no horror only mildly entertaining stunts and no real suspense. What suspense there was was wasted by the good guys all to easily defeating the bad guys. I feel Carpenter could have done so much better with the actors. The movie just didn't jell for me. Suspense was built up only to take the easy way out. Both myself and my 2 teenager sons felt we were watching a MST3K movie but (unfortunately) without Joel & the Bots. Oh, by the way, Catholics should beware to be viciously portrayed both by a traitorous Cardinal (bad) and a gunslinging, vicious Priest (good). This mess could have been so much better. I think Carpenter has lost it.

Summary: Poor effort, an all-around bad film
Review: From the very start you can tell this is one of those weird-acting movies where they don't go into any of the characters and yet expect you to empathize when they are all killed in the first ten minutes. Doesn't work, I'm afraid. The Catholic conspiracy is about the only good thing...the relationship between the hooker and Woods' right hand man is VERY bizarre. To top it all off, the head vampire is that annoying guy from "Karate Kid III"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good action , gripping and very blood thirsty
Review: Effects are very good, the stars of the film all complement each other, also the extras on this fantastic DVD make it a good all round buy.
