Summary: ehhhhh
Review: Its half and half. The gore and blood subsititued for the stupid plot and bad acting. That just got me sick. Seriously, i almost got sick in the movies with some of the blood. But im still confussed with the plot. The charecters were all werid even before the witch came and "got them". Kim, the kinder-goth who doesnt really care about spotting a witch, ... Erica, who seems like she is doing an infomerical for "wiccans are people too"., Jeff, who i found kinda ok, his only crime was making money off of people who were stupid, Stephen, the know it all who annoyed me, and Tristen, who was actually quite normal besides the whole baby thing....well, wtch and see its up to you. When all the blood and gore is over, theres nothing left but bad acting and a "thats it?" ...

Summary: Worst Movie Ever Made
Review: What a total waste of time this DVD was. Where did they find the lame cast? and who wrote the script? Total garbage!!! I am sure the cast of the first movie laughed all the way thru this piece of trash. Stick with the original. I could not wait for this movie to end and the only reason I did not turn it off to begin with is that I thought it would improve. How wrong I was!!! Don't bother.....

Summary: So much better than the first.
Review: Along with many other people I do and do not know, I found The Blair Witch Project to be one the most overhyped and boring movies ever made. Please don't get started on how that film "worked" because you had to "use your imagination" to be frightened by it. Every person who has so far defended the movie has said the exact same thing, leading me to believe that they're all trying to convince themselves that it was as good as the hype suggested. The reality is the film will no doubt turn into one of those cult favorites whose press will continue to make it out as much more thrilling than the snooze-fest it actually is.

That being said, I had no desire at all to see Book Of Shadows. I missed it when it hit the theatres and wasn't surprised at all when all the fans of the first movie whined about how bad it was. Seems that the precious originality got swallowed up by Hollywood excess. Wahhh. However, as I was shopping online last week I found this movie for a pretty cheap price and decided to give it a whirl (I know I could have rented it, but I also figured I could resell the thing if in fact I did hate it). To my surprise, I found Book Of Shadows to be a completely worthwhile sequel, and much better than the first Blair Witch excursion.

Yes, the film pays off in all the ways the first one didn't: plenty of gore, lots of gimmicky special effects, people who can actually act, and above all else, no Heather Donahue (yes, I know her presence wouldn't have been realistic in this one but she was part of the reason why The Blair Witch Project was so horrid). I liked it from the top to the bottom and actually felt a bit of suspense throughout the entire film. Yes, it's full of eye candy, but then unless you happened to be a movie by the name of The Last Broadcast, that is exactly what makes this kind of film entertaining.

To all those fans of the first movie who screamed "sell out" at Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez, all I can say is are you really that surprised? These guys sucked you in with a crummy first movie, got plenty of money to make a better sequel and did so. So much for the poor man's indie ethic.

The DVD version is plenty of fun with The Secrets of Esrever and the entire soundtrack on the flipside of the disc. If you hated the first Blair Witch flick as much as I did, give this one a shot. Hollywood might not always be right, but in this case it was far from wrong.

Summary: Unexplainably terrible. Steer clear.
Review: It would have been really nice if the sequel-makers out there had just left The Blair Witch Project alone. Then I wouldn't have had to sit through this confusing, unintelligent pile of junk when I could of spent my time watching valuable films. The film does have some visual value, but not even close enough to save the movie. The acting is not top class, the film is horribly directed and the scripting is awful. It's really difficult to come up with a worse way to sequelize such a fantastic film. This movie does not have the eerie feeling or the after-viewing effect as The Blair Witch Project did, and with movies like that, both of those have to be there, or you'll end up with a lifeless, useless, sod of a film. It will be forever remembered as Book of Poo: Blair Witch 2.

Summary: Nothing like the original film....
Review: The'Book of Shadows' is a follow up on the 'Blair Witch Project' movie. A group of 4 people: a goth girl who claims to have psychic skills, a Wiccan who wants to have the Blair Witch as her mentor, and a couple writing a book on the Blair Witch phenomena (the woman believes in the witch, the guy doesn't...) - join Jeff, an ex - mental institution patient, who serves as their tour guide (and the only Burkitsville person who was being interviewed at the beginning of the film that has something positive to say about the aftermath of the first film). They all spend the night at the ruins of Rustin Parr's house, where the tapes of the first movie were supposedly found.

They camp, start a fire, put up a few cameras, and just as they start settling down an competing tour arrives at the site. They manipulate them into camping elsewhere, and from that point on, until the next morning, they remember nothing. The cameras are wrecked, the couple's reaserch seems torn apart, and they are lucky to recover the tapes just before one of them has a miscarriage.

After stopping in the hospital, they go to Jeff's house - an abandoned broom factory filled with lots of suspicious electronics and Blair Witch marchendise. There, they try and figure out what happened that night, while they keep getting strange halucinations and markings on their bodies, and it seems that what they sense as reality and what the outside world believe it to be are quite different...

This is NOT a must - see for the original Blair Witch movie fans - this is clearly totally made up movie, and even though the first movie is still a horror flick, this one is a more 'typical' one - trying to scare us with scary visions and other similar surprises.

Summary: The Ground-breaking Original gets Run into the Ground.
Review: Ever since "Scream" (with it's Up-and-Coming Teen Cast) opened to Packed Theatres (with it's Scare Craving Teen Audiences) across American, and the Rest of the World, We the Ever faithful Horror fans have been treated to Many, Many Imitators and Rip-offs with Very, Very Different degrees of Entertainment Value.

Some took themselves Far to Seriously, ("I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Bless the Child") Some Cleverly played it mostly for Laughs, ("Bride of Chucky" and "Idle Hands") Some Dared to be Different and Succeeded, ("The Blair Witch Project" and "The Faculty"), Some Dared to be Different and Failed. ("Psycho"... Hey, it's Different, there's No Argument) But out of All of these films, out of All of the Horror films released since "Scream" opened the doors for them, (much like "Reservoir Dogs" opened the doors for Crime films) "Book of Shadows - The Blair Witch 2" is the Worst by a Country Mile.

"Book of Shadows" is the Perfect Ammunition for Non-Fans of the Original to Convert some of us "Blair Witch Fans". This So-Called Sequel reaches New Depths of Boredom, Stupidity and Overall Crapiness. Every Hand that went into the making of this Sequel deserves a Whack with the cane, Nothing that is put on screen works, yet what Angers me the Most is that Everything about the film is so Smug, the Directing, the Performances, Every Aspect is so Self Assured, they All seem to think they have done a Good Job. The Director stamps his name at the beginning of the End Credits with the Upmost Pride as if he has made the Sequel to beat "The Godfather - Part 2". If I had directed this Pitiful Excuse for a Film, I'd have gone with the old "Alan Smithie" Pseudonym.

The Performances are Positively Cringe-worthy. My Expression for the Entire (Mercifully Short) 83 minute running time was a Constant Cringe. The Dialogue isn't even good enough for a Tele-movie, A Group of Monkeys with Crayons could have written a better script. Fans of the Original "Blair Witch Project" will not Believe the Damage that this film does. Non-fans will just have More reason to hate the original.

From the moment we hear Marilyn Manson's "Disposable Teens" playing alongside the Opening Credits, we Know that they've missed the Essence of the Original, what Follows is It Really is an All-Round Bad Movie. Everything that made the Original a Modern Classic are Absent, what we're left with is Far more Shocking, but not in the Good "Horror Movie" way, Shocking in the "Man this is Bad" way.

Summary: I wish someone had blanked out my memory of this film
Review: Terrible. Absolutely terrible. The Blair Witch Project was amazing and one of the best horror films in years. This travesty of a film is confusing (deep - I don't think so) with such stereo typed "cast" that I really wanted them all to get killed - violently - in the first 5 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this even to people I disliked and am now trying to erase it from my memory - you have been warned!

Summary: Why is this movie getting dogged like this?
Review: okay i admit BWP2 wasnt such a great film, however it doesnt deserve the reviews it recieved. It was maybe one of the only films this year that made me think. I especially liked the part at the end where you are let in on secrets in the film, its kinda weird, watch it and see. Good film deserves respect, dont be dread, later.

Summary: Could have been..
Review: I truly don't know what to say about this movie! You can sense some hard work and a chance that it could have been better... but mainly I blame the Screenwriter for messing it up! So what has badly affected the movie?

1. Extremely bad screen script! You waste most of the time trying to focus on what is happening because from the first ten minutes you keep seeing flashes from parts of the movie that took place prior and after where you at! And you fail to get the picture until the end.

2. The suspense of the movie is ONLY in the first half hour (while in the woods) but afterwards; both suspense and thrill are lost.

3. There is no scary OST in the film that can drive the thrill up.

4. The actors fear and reaction was not convincing (except at the police station / at the end of the movie).

5. Oh the end of the movie..! That was ... (I'll leave that to you to judge)!

The reason I rated this movie two stars was because I know the story could have been put in a better way.
