Summary: A true gem, if you can get over the lack of Pinhead.
Review: I really love this movie! True, it has little/nothing to do with the Hellraiser universe. It probably should have been a stand-alone title; but if that was the case, I doubt it would have caught my attention on the shelf of the local Blockbuster Video.

Hellraiser: Inferno has some wonderful acting (in my opinion), an interesting story, good gore effects, some truly disturbing images, a good message (without being too preachy), characters that the audience cares about, and that's all I can think of right now. Oh yeah, the cinematography during the last 15 minutes (when Joseph is in his personal hell, or what have you) is gorgeous and inventive.

And two things that make the movie GREAT:

1) Dialogue that sounds natural. The polar opposite of this would be found in The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and the Matrix movies.

2) Characters that are real. Each character in Inferno possesses good and bad qualities, in other words, a personality. Joseph Thorne did some bad deeds in his life, but you could still see his humanity. If it was another movie, he would wear black all the time, beat his wife, ignore his children, etc.

I would have no problem giving this movie a rating of 9/10 or even 10/10.

Summary: Worst of the bunch!
Review: This film was such a bore. Ugh! What were they thinking? If I had bothered to really care I could tell you the plot, but it really does not matter. I'll give it 2 stars though for the Wire Twin cenobites and Torso. Even Pinhead cannot save this one.

Summary: Most probably the best Hellraiser
Review: I loved Hellraiser when I first saw, I immediately went out and rented the second film. It scared me unlike many other horror movies which tended to be boring and predictable or so absurd it becomes comic. I couldn't, however, find the other movies for a long time and only recently obtained all but the forth edition. Re-watching the film now, many years older, I can see that there are problems with the first film that do not make it a cinematic masterpiece and not even the best horror movie I've seen. I still enjoyed it, but the acting and directing had so much to be desired and the ending tried to extend beyond the limitations of the time, which isn't in my opinion film making. After all, Ring (called something else over in the states) was a budget movie and is my favourite horror movie, simply because it worked within its means. The second Hellraiser was another good instalment but does introduce more cinematic problems. The third Hellraiser is absolute tripe. Bad acting and directing as standerd it seems, but now with a bad story and poorly constructed plot. The cenobites are so dreadful I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The final film has dropped all this stigma. Miramax moving the film away from the dreadful franchise of Barkers original (Hellraiser, I must add, is the only Clive Barker film I've enjoyed, if anyone says he is underrated as a director, there is a reason for that. He isn't at all good at it). This film is actualy directed very well, the acting is an improvement, but not perfect and it is nice to see a different view of the concept. If any Hellraiser fan dismisses this film, they are not only fools but have no real appreciation of films. You can only dismiss this film from the Hellraiser franchise because it is better than any that proceded it.

Review: If you're a true horror fan this is a must see. Loved every minute of it. The best of the Hellraiser films.

Summary: Not Hellraiser at all.....
Review: Terrible installment to the Hellraiser series. This movie not only lacked a story line that stayed together, it lacked the "charm" of the previous Hellraiser movies. Why was Pinhead "counsiling" this guy? He is to be the pain and torturer not the philisophical metaphoic therapist. I can't believe they called this a Hellraiser movie. Ignores the facts laid out in previous installments and goes off on a ridiculous tangent about nothing. Should not have been called Hellraiser, in fact should not have been made at all, it didn't even intrest me enough to be able to watch it as a movie mutually exclusive to the Hellraiser series....lousy, boring, and pathetic.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: NOT AS GOOD AS THE PREVIOUS INSTALLMENTS.
Review: Over all,I thought this wasnt a good or bad movie. It was just mediocre and didnt do much for me.The story was alright but I thought the character of pin head shouldnt of been in the movie. Some people may like this movie and thats fine by me.

Summary: Different from the last few sequels, but still good
Review: Direct-to-video offshoot of the series is different than the other sequels. It's done in a Jacob's Ladder/Angel Heart vein and now has Pinhead back as more of a referee rather than the main character. The story surrounds a corrupt cop who stumbles onto the puzzle box, opens it, and then goes through his own personal hell with Pinhead popping up every once in a while to confuse and scare him more. It's actually very engrossing. Fans may be disappointed with the lack of Pinhead onscreen, but anyone who's been to film school knows that sometimes "less is more." Inferno was a treat.

Summary: You have got to be kidding!!!
Review: People here actually think this movie was better than Bloodlines? To quote Mr. Hand "What are you people...on dope?" Bloodlines blew this stinker right off the screen. This movie should have been made without the Pinhead character since he was barely in it.

So now Pinhead disguises himself as a police psychiatrist? What's with the fingers for every murder? Pinhead now puts himself in the place of God and judges people's souls? This movie just straight up sucked. The acting was atrocious, the characters were paper thin, and the 'star' of the movie, "Mr. I'm a happily married detective who likes cocaine and prostitutes" is just aggravating to watch. Who told this guy he could act?

This movie is just bad, bad, bad. I'd happily watch Bloodlines twenty times before I watch this again.

Review: - Hellraiser Inferno starts out with a corrupt police officer who manage to find our beloved box, he also managed to solve its puzzle and unleash the legion of hell. The next morning he wakes up like it was just a nightmare. But, then people around him starts getting killed, and he manages to see (or dream) it all before it happends. He finally realize that he is trapped in his own personal hell, and must confront evil himself: Pinhead!

This is basiclly the whole plot in Inferno, who was filmed for the solve purpose of tricking the Hellraiser fans to spend money on this nothing-to-offer tv-looking movie. Pinhead only appears for approx. 3 minuttes in the movie, and the entire one and a half hour is just about our "beloved" cop running around to solve a murder spree. The movie totally IGNORES all other entries in the franchise, and should have been titled "Inferno" instead of having the Hellraiser name in it. The acting and special effects are good, but if you're a fan of the serie, then i would recomment you to avoid the movie as if it was a plague. Actually it is...

Summary: Awesome
Review: This movie is awesome. Don't listen to the bad reviews. Hellraiser is about more than just Pinhead. While it is awesome to see the man in action Hellraiser is simply not about Pinhead. While the downside to this movie is you don't see pInhead much the story is awesome with a killer ending. Hell is relentless and never forgiving!!! Hellraiser is awesome. If you can't enjoy the hellraiser series without seeing Pinhead every 5 seconds you are not a true fan!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hellraiser is awesome and Pinhead is awesome. I wish he was in Inferno more but I still thoroughly enjoyed the film. Regardless.
