Summary: Bad,Bad and Bad
Review: I just finish watching this movie and it was a waste of time and money. The worst hellraiser of the bunch.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good horror thriller
Review: After having watched all four Hellraiser movies, I think Hellraiser Inferno is completely different. Well, I have got the feeling that a lot of true Hellraiser fans won't like this chapter. The protagonist of this movie isn't very sympathic and friendly: he takes drugs, sleeps with hookers(even though he has got a beautiful wife) and denounces his partner at the police station. A lot of people will despise this character and turn off the tv. However I stayed with this broken character and it is quite interesting to see how he unleashes the horrors of the box. His evil character traits are essential for the end of movie. Another flaw is that Pinhead only appears for two or three minutes on the screen. Nonetheless the movie deals with the desperate search of the protagonist for a mysterious person called the Engineer, who is connected with the box. If you accept the fact that this Hellraiser movie is completely different from the other parts, you'll enjoy a great and dark horror thriller.

Summary: what the hell was this?
Review: how could clive barker ever let this movie be made? i should have known that the 1st hellraiser that was a direct to video wasn't going to be good! many people didn't like the last hellraiser (rleased over 4 years ago)but i did! this one i couldn't really get into! i will definetly agree with everyone that this is not a hellraiser movie and it doesn't feel like your watching one! it was really a cheap way to keep the series alive but hopefully if another one is made they will go back to the old style! pinhead...the guy the movie is about appears in the movie less than the cops kid! that's pretty damn sad!the only part i really liked was the ending where he went back to his childhood and then he saw himself as a child get killed and then he got killed! that was the only real throwback to the style of the older films! the hellraiser series is one of the most underrated horror series ever and deserves the same ammount of attention as the nighmare/friday/halloween films! all of them went on for alot longer (they did start before hellraiser though!)and they just compleated another friday film (jasonX-jason is in space this time-i love all the fridays except 5/9...9 was the worst but jason in space!)i will say that this films are way better than the little teen slasher flicks starring teen pinups that kids have all over their walls! bring back the hellraiser we all came to know and love please and ditch this lame hbo never before seen movie lookalike crap! go rent/buy the other 4 because they are way better than this!

Summary: 99 wasted minutes of life!
Review: Being a true Hellraiser fan, I must say that I was most excited when I heard that there was finally going to be another sequel to probably my all time favorite horror movie. I waited patiently for the video to hit the shelf of my local video store, and when it finally hit, I must say, I planned my whole day around what I hoped to be a wonderful experience.

From the moment the title hit the screen, I felt a wave of dissapointment. Where was the music?? Thats fine, One change, thats not so bad I guess, the rest of the movie will make up for that right? A little further into the movie I wondered if someone had slipped another tape into the case. I read the box, yes it is listed HORROR.

Half way through the move I am still waiting to be scared. No rapid heartbeat, no jumps, no jolts, just a strong dislike for 95% of the characters, and a real desire to pull Bone Daddy out and watch it again ( Even with the bad acting in that one, I stayed interested ). Still debating weather or not to turn it off and pick up a book, I gave it a chance, like I said I am a true fan, and maybe they are saving all the good stuff for the end right? They could'nt possibly make a bad movie with the Hellraiser name on it could they?

Beleive me when I say it. They Did. By the time this movie was over, and the ending credits were rolling I realized with much sadness, that there just went about 100 minutes of my life that I will never see again.

If you are a true Hellraiser fan, and want to stay a fan, SKIP THIS MOVIE. If you are looking to be as scared as you were by the first movie, SKIP THIS MOVIE. If you are a Pinhead fan... SKIP THIS MOVIE!! If you rent it anyway, dont say you were'nt warned.

Summary: Not a Good Choice!
Review: I have seen all the other Hellraiser movies and I liked them all. The first two were the best and the other two were pretty good. However this movie is very bad! It is not a Hellraiser movie at all. You only see Pinhead for about 2 min in the whole movie and the movie doesnt even make sense... Total waist of time and money...

Summary: Very innovative and original sequel
Review: If you are expecting a generic slasher sequel in this series, avoid this movie and buy Hellraiser 3 instead. Hellraiser:Inferno takes the overall concept of Hellraiser in a new direction. This movie is more of a crime drama than a slasher flick. This is the first movie since the original that explores the decisions of the main character instead of simply throwing gore and eye candy at the audience. There is a fair amount of gore in this film, but not nearly as much as in the earlier films. What made the Cenobites so interesting in the original Hellraiser was that they didn't get so much coverage in the film and were far more creepy & mysterious. This one keeps that same thought in mind and was far more enjoyable to me because of it. I recommend this film to those who are fans of the original Hellraiser more than its other sequels.

Summary: BEAT HORROR MOVIE OF THE YEAR
Review: I loved this movie and even though this isn't really a sequal it is still a must see for any Hellraiser fan. Craig Sheffer(Nightbreed) gives a great performance and Pinhead has two small but memorable appearences towards the end. The effects and story are excellant especially considering that this is direct-to-video. This is probabley the best direct-to-video sequal since The Prophecy 2.

Summary: So-So
Review: I was glad to see that Hellraiser: Inferno moves away from the direction in which the previous two sequels were going. I felt a story beyond the 3rd and 4th movies was doomed... too far from the original idea of the first Hellraiser. Bloodline and Hell on Earth completely butchered the mystery that surrounded the box and the cenobites who appeared in the first film. As a matter of fact, Hell on Earth made cenobites out to be almost vampire or werewolf-like in that if you were killed by one, you could become one. That concept ignored the first film, in which the average Joe was taken to his own private hell when visited by the cenobites, rather than becoming one himself. The first film left the audience unsure of the origin of the four original cenobites, and why they, above others, had become malevolent guardians of the afterlife. I felt that their indefinite origin added to the dark mystery of the story because, as we all know, the unknown is often more frightening than the apparent.

Hellraiser: Inferno almost attempts to heal some of the over-explaining of the third and fourth sequels. Fortunately, it returns some of the mystery to Pinhead and the cenobites by decreasing their spoken lines while maintaining their importance as gatekeepers of hell. It also returns to the Dante's Inferno-esque idea of personal hells, and, thank goodness, does not overuse miscellaneous new cenobites, as Hell on Earth did. In addition, it stays true to the series' S&M overtones and family relationship themes.

Though Hellraiser: Inferno did have several good qualities, I was disappointed that the original theme song was not used. One of my favorite parts of watching a new Hellraiser movie is hearing that booming, ominous score during the opening credits. I mean, give the movie a fresh feel but keep the essential elements, people! Also, if you are a horror fanatic, as I am, you may find this movie somewhat predictable. The ending that was supposed to be a surprise was obvious to me about halfway through the movie. However, if you're not gore-crazed film buff, disregard this last comment.

In conclusion, if you only dabble in the horror genre, you may enjoy the complex plot and may be caught off-guard by the ultra-psychological ending. Of course, if you're a die-hard Hellraiser fan, it's a must see... if anything, you'll be interested to see the makeover it received. Plus, it does have its creepy moments, not to mention a good amount of blood and guts. However, if you haven't seen it already and you are not collecting the whole series, be sure to rent it before you buy. The confusing plot may not be your cup of tea.

By the way, this movie was a reunion of actors Craig Sheffer (our antihero, Joseph the cop) and Doug Bradley (Pinhead), who both starred in the Clive Barker movie Night Breed. If you like Sheffer in this one, I recommend checking him out as a good guy in Night Breed.

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: This film is surprisingly good. It's stylish, thoughtful, and quite unpredictable. Certainly a departure from the other Hellraiser films, but without a doubt it's the best made of all the sequels. If you want typical Hellraiser schlock, it may dissapoint. But if you want to see an intelligent and creepy horror film that goes beyond the franchise and even farther beyond the current trend of teen slasher pictures, then this is the film for you. I thought it was terrific.

Summary: Its about time!!
Review: The fifth installment in the Hellraiser series is a direct to video?? This was the Question that was running through my mind when I first rented this movie, and it scared me because most Direct to video movies arent that great, but I was suprised after viewing this movie. It was far better than the 3rd and 4th installment in the Hellaiser series, but i must warn you it is a lot different than the other films in the series and concentrats more on character development than all the gruesome violence of the first four films, but manages to be a hell of a lot scarier than all of the others put together. So I implore you to not let the "direct to video" feature fool you. Go out and rent this movie, you wont be disappointed. Rated R for Violence and Graphic Language. P.S Another thing I must tell you is that, you dont see very much of Pinhead in this movie, In fact he only makes a few cameo appearences but when he does show himself you will remember those scenes for as long as you live!!!!!!!
