Summary: Don't even try to compare this to BWP
Review: The only reason I saw this movie was because I heard it inspired BWP.The only thing this boring piece of crap may have inspired was the equally as boring Curse of the Blair Witch. So don't even waste your time and money on it.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I'll admit--the only reason I saw this film was to see how it compared (or didn't) to BWP. First, let me say that while BW leaves a lot to the imagination, TLB tries to go out of it's way to explain everything. For that reason, I really didn't enjoy the movie as much as I probably could have. The whole documentary-like premise with all of the narraration just didn't scare me. There was a creepy little twist to the plot (those of you who have seen it know what i'm talking about) but the directors could have left it at that and ended the movie there. Bottom line: if you need everything explained to you and handed to you in a neat little package in order for you to understand a movie and be scared, then by all means, see TLB. Otherwise, those who have a vivid imagination should see BW.

Summary: Everybody stop nd read this b/c your missing the whole point
Review: Everybody that has given this a bad review on account of the fact that they think Blair Witch Project was better should seriously consider maybe stepping back and taking a closer look. I saw Blair Witch Project and ill admit i was scared. But as soon as i heard the entire story that backed up it was all a lie i was realy disapoionted. Ive always been into wierd stuff especially the jersey devil and the pine barrens and when i heard some kids came up with the idea to do a movie on it i was siked. When i saw the movie it was radder than i thought it would be. But when i read the reviews I was mad b/c at least these filmakers were smart enough to get a real legend and not take one from the sci fi channel. Also at school i met a kid who saw the movie also and met the filmakers. He told me how cool they were and how they only did the movie for fun. So if u seriously want to say this movie sucks and its not scary how bout u spend a couple nights in the pines and think about that movie again. Ill garuntee youl think differently. I have camped in the pines a couple times and i know the feeling. So if the flimmakers are reading this i just want to say your movies rad no matter what these other people say. And also i wanted to ask if uve seen a place in doylestown called Fischer Hughes moving and transport. I work there. If anyone agrees or disagrees my screen name is rad dude3

Summary: Amazing, realistic, terrific!
Review: I 1st caught this film half way through on IFC and couldn't move til i saw how it ended. It took awhile for me to realize this was fiction! It amazes and amuses me that, just like Blair Witch, the reactions to this film are so polarized - people either "get it" and love it, or don't and hate it. If you think "ConAir" is the epitomy of film making you will probably hate it. If you like your movies intelligent, challenging, unique and not spoon fed to you you will love it!

Summary: Great
Review: "The Last Broadcast" was a very scary, very clever, and (ahem, BWP fans) original film. Little known fact: It was actually released in the theaters almost a whole year before BWP.... so everyone out there who's screaming about the inventiveness and originality of BWP should check out this flick.

Summary: It sucks you in and makes you question what is real & unreal
Review: I loved The Last Broadcast. I happened to catch the last showing on IFC and believed it to be a documentary at the time. I think this is key to really enjoying this film, because as I watched, I was piecing together the evidence and trying to draw conclusions. Altogether, a great work, with a very unexpected ending.

Summary: Horrible movie with a great ending
Review: This movie has a great ending, but the other 80 minutes are painful. No character development, bad acting, zero script, clips and monologue are repeated over and over and over... and speaking of the monologue, did I mention that the entire movie has our "host" narrating the entire thing ... nothing happens except for what he tells you happens, and his voice is SO annoying ... I had to turn the movie off and watch it in multiple sittings because it's so boring ... I like independent film ... I wanted this movie to be good ... it isn't.

Summary: What a rip-off!!!! Save your money!!!!
Review: I bought the video of "The Last Broadcast" after hearing it hyped on the radio and online as being "Much, much better than" The Blair Witch Project. A local radio station had the writers/actors on their morning show, and the DJs all were singing the praises of "Last Broadcast", proclaiming it to be the better movie, and insisting that the only reason Blair Witch had done better financially was because it had studio backing. They said if Last Broadcast had received similar backing, it would have blown away Blair Witch.

I'd seen Blair Witch Project a few weeks ago and loved both the kitsch and the suspense. The movie was eerily believable, and the characters very real. I anxiously awaited the arrival of The Last Broadcast, expecting something even better.

What a disappointment! The movie drags interminably, the characters never become anyone the viewers can care about, and the ending was just plain bizarre. Although the movie was made before Blair Witch Project, it is obvious that it is trying to ride the later movie's coattails all the way to the bank. It certainly would never have made it there on its own merits.

My advice: Save your money! I wish there was a way to return this piece of trash. Or better yet, I might send my copy to the producers of MST3K!!! (grin)Hmm...actually, now THERE's a good idea!

Summary: A Companion Video To The Blair Witch Project!
Review: The Last Broadcast is a welcome addition to the new "intellegent" trend in fright movies. Like the Blair Witch movie, it relies more on plot and suggestion than on blood and gore. But an accurate comparison between these two films must include the obsevation that it is more of a combination of the sci-fi special "Curse of the Blair Witch" and the actual Blair Witch movie itself. Indeed, after viewing The Last Brodcast, it is hard to believe that the Blair Witch team did not see this earlier version of (basically) the same type of subject matter. That is not to say that it is nessesarily bad to get your inspiration from another film, since both of these films take from other movies as well. Some that come to mind are "Night of the Living Dead", "The Exorcist" And "Evil Dead", movies that also incorporated relatively small budgets, unknown stars, and compared to other films in the genre, little gore. And so, I will give "The Last Broadcast" a thumbs up, and remind the viewer to remember the small amount of cash it was made for and the tremendous amount of effort and imagination that went into making it. It will take it's spot with my other favorite scary movies(right next to Blair Witch, hee hee). I look forward to more films made with such enthusiasm. One final warning: "The Last Broadcast" has slightly more blood and violence than the Blair Witch movie, which should please those of you who thought there was not enough in Blair Witch.

Summary: Thought provoking psychological docu-horror
Review: All comparisons to the "Blair Witch Project" aside, this movie represents what will hopefully be a new approach to movie-making. Presented as a documentary about three men who are killed in the New Jersey Pine Barrens while investigating the Jersey Devil phenomenon, this film will have you guessing all the way to the end. Whereas "Blair Witch" is more of a ghsotly retelling of the Hansel and Gretel story, this plays out like a murder mystery. The directors use this film to subtly stab everything from the judicial system to the media. Sarcastic, sinister, and highly entertaining.
