Summary: Compelling film from Carpenter.
Review: This film starts off wonderfully. Great music, great cinematography, and some good dialogue lead the viewer to believe it'll be a great film. The film's plot suffers, however, when it's revealed that James Woods' character is an a**hole. That really soured the whole film.

Rental only.

Summary: the coolest vampire movie ever
Review: this vampire movie was the greatest even compared to the dracula series.Valic was so cool [not to mention sexy].Ithink that the people who made this movie would bring him back[you know like dracula].Valic was the only guy/vampire that I really liked in this movie............

Summary: Woods rocks the hizouse
Review: Woods is dynomite as Jack Crow the vampire slayer leader who leads his team of vampire killers to a house where they kill a bunch of vampires, then party and have prostitutes come to the hotel to have a little fun. what they dont notice is that the master vampire is pissed, comes to the hotel and nearly kills all of Woods' men, except for Montoya(Danny Baldwin) and a master bitting prostitute(Sheryl Lee) who has the link of the master. Woods' boss, played by MaxMillian Schell recruits Woods a new preist, Father Adam(Tim Guinee). then there's lots of blood shed and violence and oh so pretty vampire bitings and snarling and blowing into a million pieces action. for Carpenter fans and Woods fans.

Summary: Good Moments
Review: They have to kill the first vampire. There's good moments when the main vampire bites a girl and the men try to kill the main vampire with her help. She has telephtatical skills because she's now vampire. Well, the story is quite boring but the good things are:
1)When they kill vampires with sunlight (the vampires are burning then)
2)When the vampires bite
3)When the vampires kill people

Summary: If it was possible....
Review: I would give this movie -100 stars.

I can't believe that people have given this movie such a high rating. This is possibly the worst movie ever made in the whole history of man. James Wood as a leather clad gun toting vampire hunter is laughable at best. Daniel Baldwin needs to lose some weight. And the vampires seriously need a bath. Blaaaaah! That's all I can say...and that I seriously wanted to slice my wrists when I watched it on its opening day, Halloween 2000 (I believe). Oh god, why did I watch the whole thing? I guess I like punishment, I guess. Don't watch unless you want every intellectual thought ripped out of your head.

Summary: Catholic Chruch creates Vampires!
Review: Aside from the non-stop swearing, I mean, really wouldn't the Church pound some less dirty mouths into their agents?, this is a great movie with lots of action, cool special effects and vampire that are dangerous not sexy or silly or moody. It was a great idea to make the Catholic Church responsible for creating vampires in the first place; now it makes perfect sense while vamps are afraid of crosses and holy water! James Woods is great but so is that Baldwin brother too -- and that is saying something about the quality of the script and director.

Summary: JOHN CARPENTRERS VAMPIRES
Review: THIS IS THE COUNTLESS FILM BASED ON THE OLD VAMPIRE LEGEND. THIS FILM IS ONE OF THE BETTER ONES. JOHN CARPENTER(THE THING,STARMAN)DIRECTS THIS GORY YARN BASED ON THE NOVEL BY JOHN STEAKLY. JAMES WOODS IS WONDERFUL AS THE LEADER OF THE HIRED SQUAD OF VAMPIRE KILLERS WHO ARE ENDORSED BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. DANIEL BALDWIN AND SHERYL LEE ARE SOLID IN SUPPORTING ROLES AND THOMAS IAN GRIFFITH IS BELIEVABLE AS THE MASTER VAMPIRE WREAKING HAVOC THROUGH NEW MEXICO.BUT THE REAL STAR OF THE FILM IS JAMES WOODS,HE IS FUN TO WATCH WITH HIS SUNGLASSES,LEATHER JACKET AND SNEER.THE FILM IS EXTREMELY VIOLENT BUT ALSO HAS SOME HUMOR THAT POPS UP EVERY NOW AND THEN.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: WOW
Review: John Carpenter keeps coming with these hits, I still feel his best film ever is HALLOWEEN. But this is a very good ride none the less.Don Jakoby did a very good job addapting the novel by John Steakley into this film, the screenplay must have been great. Of course John directed the film, but James Woods, Thomas Ian Griffith, and Danial Baldwin bring this great story to life. Believe me this movie is great, Maximilian Walsh also does a great job on this. This is a must have for any true movie fan.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: This movie isn't worth your time. It's cheesy, simplistic, and boring. The acting is horrendous...even James Woods! I'm not even sure that a "big name" actor could have saved this script.

The "heroes" are all insipid and repuslive, and the plot is about as predictable and mindless as they come. The villian acts like some 1920s Dracula wannabe. I expected much more from John Carpenter and crew and was sadly disappointed.

Worst line: "A master vampire, able to walk in the sunlight, unstoppable. Unless we stop him."

Almost everything about this movie was unsatisfying and lame. The grammar school plot gets overshadowed by a plethora of violence, profanity, and bad acting.

Avoid this movie if you can.
