Summary: My roommate actually sharpened her teeth like CAPT HOWDY!
Review: I am not lying...she loved it, I was bored and instead of being scared at all I was annoyed by Captain Howdy never shutting the hell up! I wanted to scream because he babbled on endlessly. I will have to say seeing Robert Englund in it was one thing that made the flick oh and the bands at the end was a nice touch but overall....YAWN.

Summary: Dee needs to stick to music
Review: Although his intentions are there, there is no atmosphere of fright in this movie. I think he should have directed it with someone other than himself in this movie. The plot is not a dull one and therefor should have been performed by someone like Anthony Hopkins. The scenes are sick and twisted but that is good however, Dee should really stick to making music as I didnt find him a bit scary but rather comical. If you like gore and sexual exploitation, this movie is for you. If you want to be scared, look elsewhere. Thank you.

Summary: I quit watching.
Review: A friend of mine suggested I rent this so I did. I later foundout he had not seen this movie. How I envied him. Boring and stupid. Those two words say it all. This movie tries to be a horror movie about this psycho played by Dee Snyder. Well Dee's performance and this movie are terrible. Nothing in this movie warrants viewing. The sight of a girl's lips sewn off is on the cover, which makes it look cool. Well this ain't cool. It's annyoing. Watching this film just got worse and worse. And then it hit me. From the corner of my eye I saw the stop /eject button. I ejected the tape and drove to the store to drop it off. I tried my hardest to forget this crap movie. But I have decided to warn others. If someone suggests for you to buy this tape or DVD or you are thinking of buying it. Just say no. Run in terror if you have to. This film is to be avoided. Watching leaves fall off trees is more entertaining then this wannabe horror movie.

Summary: TWISTED TWISTED MOVIE .......
Review: This is diffenately one of the most twisted movies I have ever seen. I have to say Dee Snider acts better than he sings. And for him to make such a movie is really surprising. I would like to see more of his work. And for those of you who like more of the twisted and bizzare movies this one is diffenately for you.

Summary: Surprising film, made for all the right reasons!!
Review: Never haven I seen a film with so many inconsistencies, illogical and all too coincidental things happening and 'borrowed' scenes that I enjoyed SO ENORMOUSLY!! I bought it not knowing who Dee Snider was, which is a good thing, because I am not much of a hardrock fan --I probably would have missed out on it if I had known he was Twisted Sister's lead singer. I understand it is Mr. Snider's first filmscrip and first major starring role. The things mentioned in the first line of this review may come from the fact that it is his first script, but as an actor, displaying two totally different sides of the Bad Guy, he is wonderfully brilliant, and he adds a third dimension to what might easily have been a flat comic book character if handled differently. The story and script obviously do NOT come from a twisted mind (as is too easy to say for those who don't like the film) but from the concerns of a father who sees terrifying things happening in the world around him. The film moved me enormously and made an enormous impact, in spite of the things I mentioned earlier. Or could it even be (partly) because of them....... The society today is full of illogical things happening, weird justice and the truth is so often a lot more rediculous than fiction, so in a way what could be seen as flaws could also be seen as wonderful metaphors (although i doubt this was the original idea). After the film had ended I did what I NEVER did before: i IMMEDIATELY watched it again, now with Mr. Sniders commentary on. And much to my surprise this was so ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Contrary to earlier reviews, I think Dee adds a lot of extra info and unfolds himself as a very intelligent guy widening his talents into other fields, being able to tell about it with enthousiasm (and a lot of humor I may add) and making me even more positive about the film than I already was. Also, he seems to be very pleased with himself, and that only adds to the fun!! The Rock Videos from the soundtrack album that are added as extras are not much to my taste, but the introductions by Dee Snider are so enjoying I actually had a lot of fun watching them (and carefully changed my mind, no matter how slightly, about this music genre). Watch it, watch it again and then watch it with the commentary on. And try to keep an open mind. Too many four or five star hollywood films of directors and writers and stars that have 'made it' are full of rediculous flaws and illogicalities as well, but for some unknown reason they are accepted by critics and public alike. Strangeland has the added bonus of the fact that it comes from the heart and is made for all the right reasons instead of being taylored to as large an audience as possible. I can hardly wait for Dee Snider's next work..

Review: i think the movie was an awsome story dee snider came up with a great scrip i watch that movie over and over and i never get sick of watching it. Dee Snider character "captin howdy" was a great idea. Also the concept of using the internet to get people was a great idea i haven' seen a movie like this one yet i love it. Summary: Below average horror film has its moments.
Review: I bought this DVD not knowing who Dee Snider was. I later learned that we was in Twisted Sister, and not only acted in the film, but produced and wrote the film as well. So I guess he would be the one to blame. The film, granted it did have a good premise, suffered from lousy dialogue, bad acting and, pardon the pun, choppy editing. After seeing the film, I was eager to hear Snider's commentary track to learn more about he came up with his ideas. Unfortunately he doesnt understand what commentary tracks are for, and he spends most of the time silent, and when he does speak, he redundantly describes whats happening on screen. Mr. Snider, a DVD's commentary track is designed to give the filmaker a chance to describe his or her themes, ideas, motifs ect. Not to sit there saying, "oh watch out, he's behind the door!" I can get that at the theatre. The only reason I gave this movie 2 stars was because the film, believe it or not, actualy has about 15 minutes of interesting material. When the character of Captain Howdy is captured, commited, and then released, the movie shows a scared, lonely person trying to cope and fit back into a world that could never forgive him. That was a great idea to explore, and Sniders perfomance in that situation was truthfull. Sadly it doesnt last, and the endearing character of Carlton fades, replaced by Howdy and Sniders soapbox dialogue. As for the DVD itself, it does have some good extras, however the rock videos are largely just knumbing, so there best used before you watch the movie, so that the film is more easily viewed.

Review: A good theme that would have been better off had Dee not had the hero(at least how I view these guys) role. The cop seemed like the only working actor in this flic. Maybe just a little cheap but otherwise a movie to be recommended.
