Rating: Summary: good Review: this movie's great, nothing against it, but the sequels were much funnier.this one's a little scary, though.
Rating: Summary: Birth of a master villain! Review: Surprisingly popular horror film which proves that with a good cast, a good script and reasonable special efects, the crumbiest premise can be turned into an enjoyable yarn.Note:Four sequals followed, and a fifth is in development. C.Play 2 is great and Child's play three is reasonable but arguable. Bride of chucky is good, but don't expect the shocks of party one because it's more humour.
Rating: Summary: Good. Review: Great movie! Excellent. Surprisingly better than ALL following sequels. Another classic worthy of recognition.
Rating: Summary: This movie's okay Review: Horror classic about serial killer/criminal who transfers his soul into the body of a toy doll to cheat death and starts killing people when he's bought. A lot lamer at times than a fan would want to admit but it has a deafeningly slick pace and a fascinating plot. Popcorn, pepsi and pizza.
Rating: Summary: Watch out: Chucky will get ya! Review: A serial killer has mysterious disappeared from the cops and found tumbled into a toy store after being shot by one of the policeman. He must find something to transfer his soul into another form of a body that will keep him alive until he can a living host. So he finds one of the childrens most favorite dolls known as the Good Guy dolls. He tranfers his soul into the doll and find a person to retransfer it into a human. If you ask me, I'd say this movie had suprisingly good special effects in the movie. Especially on the Chucky doll. Brad Douif does a great job on the voice of Chucky as he goes killing people without anyone knowing who he really is, except for the fact that he is a walking, talking, stalking, doll. The trouble starts as a little boy's dream was to get a Good Guy doll for Christmas and so the mother starts to panic, that she can't find one. But a strange man as just apparently had a Good Guy doll for sale. When the little boy gets the doll for Christmas...and well, you should know what happens from then on! Chucky's back, Jack!
Rating: Summary: Clever little chiller Review: With the concept of a serial killers spirit being transfered into the form of a cute childrens doll, Child's play has the unnerving ability of playing on many young childrens (adults too, as we were once there) fear of "what if...my toy doll was actually alive". Andy's new bithday present is far from the innocent, wholesome idea of good simple child's play, this doll in particular has other ideas, ideas which involve a couple of murders and the eventual possesion of it's young owners body. Cleverly written and often quite scary, however the end sequence tends to go on and on, purely playing out for shock tatics rather than logic.
Rating: Summary: a reviewer from scotland Review: I am a great fan of this series but this is probably my favourite edition in the series. It is a very original story-Charles lee ray chased into shop and is about to die when he see's a good guy doll and using voodo magic transforms his soul into the doll.Brilliant story a must see for child's play fans.
Rating: Summary: One of the best slasher films Review: Director Tom Holland has proved that a slasher film can be excellent. This is a clever and intelligent thriller that well surpasses those gory horror movies like Friday the 13th and even Nightmare on Elm St., A!The acting is excellent and the logic, rational. I think it belongs up there with Psycho and Halloween. A movie doesn't have to be gory to be scary.
Rating: Summary: Chucky is one bad sob Review: what a great movie! this was one of the greatest horror flims i have seen in a long time! a cute inocent doll who suddenly turns psychotic is a great idea. when i first saw the movie i would not go near my dolls for 2 weeks. now thats my kind of horror movie.
Rating: Summary: Bone chilling! Review: Spinechilling horror flick starring Brad Dourif. Childkiller Charles Lee Ray is dead, gunned down in a toystore. But with the help of some evil voodoo he manages to take his soul into that of a Goodguy doll. Andy (played by Alex Vincent) gets a good guy doll for his birthday, little knowing the real devilish secret behind this smiling doll before it's too late. Excellent horror film with plenty of frights and jumps. Catherine Hicks is excellent as Andy's mother battling against the menacing doll and Brad Dourif plays the part of 'Chucky' with unholy relish. The plot is very inventive, the writer convincing us that this could happen!
