Rating: Summary: CHUCKIES WILD MASSACRE Review: Just watched this again recently and was reminded how freekie a ginger haired doll can be!!! Genuinely scary to watch and the intense atmosphere builds throughout. Also, some of the most weird but wonderful death scenes: 1) Hammer smashing head, fall out window and smash into car roof on street below. MMMmmm Very Painful- 8/10 2) Voodoo Mans death by arms ripped from the sockets, legs snapped like cocktail sticks. MMMmmm Very Legless - 9/10 3) Death by electrocution. Fired like an egg. MMMmmm Very Sizzzzlesome 7/10 Childs Play 3 was no way as good but probably had one of the best and sickest death scenes: Chucky thrown into garbage truck. Chucky yells for help. Trashman thinks a kid is in the trash and climbs in to save him. Chucky (LUCKILY) manages to escape and you've guessed it......Presses the CRUSHER BUTTON!!!! Poor old trashman gargles on his blood as he's crushed to a pulp. MMMmmm Very Squishy- 10/10 We are a sick bunch , but hey, it's only make beleive..........OR IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Classic horror! Review: A maniacal man's spirit somehow gets into a new and popular kind of doll called a Good Guy. Little does anybody know that one of these "Good Guys" may actually turn out to be an evil serial killer with its main victim being a 6 year old boy. I remember back when I was a kid, me and my mom used to go to the video store and rent tons of horror movies. While we were in that period of our lives, one of our favorite horror series was always the "Child's Play" movies. In this original movie, you'll learn the story of Chucky, the doll that turns out to be unlike any other. I've always been a fan of slasher horror movies such as the "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" series. While "Child's Play" might not be half as bloody and maybe not as popular, it takes the formula of the two series that I just mentioned, and it does a great job of it. "Child's Play" involves a lot of conflict between people for about the first hour, with hardly any suspense or upbeat horror, but once you see Chucky show his true side, "Child's Play" becomes very suspenseful, even more entertaining, and even scary. My favorite film of the series would have to be a toss-up between "Child's Play" and "Child's Play 2." If you haven't ever seen any of the movies in this series, I recommend watching "Child's Play" first so you can learn the overall plot. If you like great horror movies, I whole-heartedly recommend purchasing "Child's Play." You will NOT be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: CHILD'S PLAY Review: CHILD'S PLAY was one of the first 'killer doll' movies, and still remains the best. Serial killer Charles Lee Ray (also known as "Chucky) is shot to death by a policeman in a toy store, but before he dies Charles manages to transfer his soul into a toy doll by reciting a voodoo incantation. A little boy named Andy Barclay receives the "Chucky" doll from his mother as a gift for his birthday, and soon the doll is running around murdering people and Andy is being blamed for the crimes. Andy is in much deeper trouble because "Chucky" wants to transfer his soul into Andy's body before "Chucky"'s soul becomes trapped inside the doll.
Rating: Summary: not as gory Review: I like gory films and this movie was not that. Chucky didnt do much only bite a lady, take control of a car, and attack john a voodooist. Thats is about it. He doesnt talk until the last half hour of the film and the beginning keeps you waiting and waiting for something to actually happen. It recieves and R rating for Language, (especially) and some gore. I like the part when he makes a mojo doll of John. Chucky does come back in more sequels even bloodier than than the 1st. Ok ok, i left out the story line. The story line is a strangler, Charles Lee Ray is gunned down ina toy store and he wasnt ready to die. So he uses his voodoo skills to transfer his soul into a good guy doll.It all works and he is then bought by a good guy fan, Andy Barclay. He trys to take possesion of Andy's body by the heart of damballa. Its pretty good, and really funny
Rating: Summary: It's Ok. Review: I like Catherine Hicks and Chris Sarandon and though Child's Play was kind of hokey I thought it was ok, I like that it had some scary parts but wasn't too gory.
Rating: Summary: Look Out!! Review: A murderer is killed and makes himself turn into a doll. He is then bought by a mother and brought home to her son for his birthday. Once the doll arrives things start going wrong. People are killed and the boy keeps on saying that Chucky the doll did it. I wonder if it's true. You'll have to find out.
Rating: Summary: Great Horror/ Comedy, Poor DVD Review: This movie to me is one of the most humorous horror movies ever made. I would say it is right up there with Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness as it pertains to comedy. The story line is basic and has many holes but all in all it is a fun movie. Not really scary, but some great one liners. Chuckie is a smaller version of Arnold with the one liners and a foul mouth. The DVD is just awful that is why I deducted two stars. Full Screen, Why? I do not want a modified version to fit my screen I want to see the whole movie as it was presented in the theatres. Plenty of artifacting and color bleeds. The blacks are not sharp and the brightness tends to shift. It appears they copied this right from the same source material they used for the VHS release. Come MGM you could have cleaned it up a bit. The audio was also inferior going through peaks and valleys. Hopefully they will re-release this as a special addition and clean it up the way it should have been for this release!
Rating: Summary: child's play packs a wallop Review: child's play is one hell of a movie. it gave birth to chucky, the mad doll that goes on a killing rampage. the first one by far is the best. the sequels were good, but no where near as good as the first because tom holland did not direct them.
Rating: Summary: A Fun, Enjoyable Film Review: Child's Play deals with a killer dying and entering his soul into a children's doll in a toy store. The doll, Chucky, is given to a little boy named Andy as a present by his mom. The doll comes to life and starts knocking people off. He wants to enter his soul into a human body before he's trapped in the doll's body forever. This movie is a lot of fun. It is filled with pretty good suspense and acting. At one moment it's thrilling, and the next it's kind of funny. Alex Vincent, who plays Andy, is not the greatest kid actor, but he's fine. Catherine Hicks, who plays his mom, is the best of the bunch. Fans of her work as the mother on TV'S "7TH Heaven" will be surprised. Brad Douriff as the killer and Chris Sarandon as the cop who killed him, round out the cast. All used well. The steam was sort of missing from the sequels, but they were all enjoyable nonetheless. Not great, but fun. Child's Play is a simple, enjoyable little film. Give it a try.
