Summary: one hell of a scary movie!
Review: I have to confess, I missed about a quarter of this movie as I shielded my vision from the hideous and certainly unforgettable scenes depicting from a levitating bed to a hideous scene involving a cross. I was so freaked out at the end that I had to watch one of my old cartoon videos. Horror fans please take me seriously when I say that THIS IS A PSYCHOLOGICAL FRIGHTENING HORROR MOVIE THAT SHOULD NOT BE VIEWED BY THE MEDIOCRE FAN! The other "Exorcist" movies couldn't even touch this one in its convincing reality and horrible special effects, let alone another horror movie. I would give this a perfect rating of five stars and might I recommend a security blanket.

Summary: No movie can possibly be better!!!!!!!
Review: This movie is the best. Plain and simple. The book is better, but the movie is still better than every other horror movie combined. The documentary is great!!! Don't let anybody tell you that this movie stinks. It frightened me!

Summary: WOW!!!!
Review: I have seen this movie so many times, starting from when i was a little kid, to now as a mother with two children. And this movie still scares me! As Reagan starts to turn into the horrific demon and spits up green vomit, it only gets better. I think its so great that a horror film can even still scare grownups, which many scary movies today will only make you laugh. I am sure to always watch this film with the lights on!

Review: The Exorcist is the greatest movie ever it`s about this 12 year old girl who becomes possesed by a demon and she tries to tell her mother but she doesn`t believe any of it and soon after her director/friend is killed by faklling down some stairs a homicide detective is called in to see whats going on and believs regan has a demon inside of her and soon a naive preist and father with a bad heart are the only ones that can stop her but soon the old priest is killed and the demon leaves Regan and passes into Damien but before he masters his evil power he kills himself by jumping out of Regans bedroom window and colliding with the pavement awesome movie definitely see this movie

Summary: All Hype No substance
Review: I bought this movie thinking this must be hella scary since i've read so many people ranting about it. When it was done i've never wanted my money back so quickly. Not only did it plod along at a snail's pace, but the visual's were NOT scary. "The Shining" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" were both 10 times better then this sorry excuse for a movie. the story was barely there and the conflict with the priest and his mother was just a worthless side story. in fact this movie feels like just a bunch of side stories without any link or merit. Avoid at ALL costs.

Summary: ONCE YOU SEE THE LITTLE GIRLS FACE IT NEVER GOES AWAY OR EVE
Review: THIS MOVIE IS THE GREATEST. THE LITTLE GIRL IS SO SCARY. ECSPECCIALY WHEN THE PREACHER STARTS TALKING LATIN TO HER. BUT MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN THE OLD PREACHER THROWS HOLY WATER ON THE GIRL TOWARDS THE END.

Summary: Laser Disc Sound is Still Superior
Review: Visually, The Exorcist has never looked better. Finally I can see the brilliant composition of that opening shot with Merrin and the statue facing off against the backdrop of the setting sun. But I have to say, I played this simultaneously with my Exorcist Laser Disc and wow, what a difference. As much as I want to embrace DVD, it's really hard to do when the sound is infinitely inferior to LD. The DVD seemed to have no presence while the laser Disc cuts right to your bone. Especially in the surround noises. The LD jumps at you, giving me chills for the hundreth time, while the DVD just sort of whimpers in your direction. Maybe one day the two will be equal but considering the amount of compression required for a DVD, that is almost impossible.

Summary: One of the most brilliant films ever made, in any genre
Review: It would surprise nobody to have me say that "The Exorcist" is a great horror film. But I want to go a great step further: it's one of the most brilliant and striking films ever made, period. In the documentary which preceeds the film on the 25th anniversary edition, author William Peter Blatty says that it is a film which provokes a reaction -- love it or hate it, you're alive during while you watch this film. This is what great art is all about. "The Exorcist" is far from being just a film; it's a visceral experience. Director William Friedkin researched great art (paintings, literature) to use as a springboard into the story, and it shows in every carefully constructed shot. We learn in the documentary that Friedkin was obsessive in his meticulous attention to detail, and, as hard as it was for the cast and crew, it shows in every frame. Each moment of this film is carefully considered and executed, just like the works of art Friedkin used as inspiration...and, like all great art, they take on a life of their own. And finally, the possession which is at the film's center is the heart around which the story's characters move -- all flawed, real, and human. Faith is at the film's core, and it resonates throughout. Please make sure to purchase the widescreen version, as every shot is filled with detail and will be greatly harmed by pan & scan; in addition, a dialogue in the documentary between Blatty and Friedkin about a cut final scene gives additional insight into the film's subtext. This is a film about faith, and it tells its story in a seamless and harrowing style which is ultimately unforgettable. "The Exorcist" is a true classic.

Summary: Cool movie
Review: This is a normal story....But not for long! Little Regan becomes possessed by the Devil and is very violant and mad out of her mind. One of Linda Blair's bestest movies
