Summary: A Grisly Homage
Review: I give this film 4 stars only because I have difficulty giving 5 to a film that isn't completely original. There are a few instances during the movie where Rob Zombie lifts directly from other horror movies (Texas Chainsaw, Hills Have Eyes, etc.). Given the type of movie it is, though, that isn't really a bad thing. Horror movies have been cannibalizing each other for decades (pun intended), and what Rob has done is take only the most successful parts and stitch them into a very well-paced and smartly edited gore-fest.

The cast is one of the most well-assembled I've seen in a horror flick in some time. Karen Black is STILL hot. Bill Moseley is as creepy as ever. Sid Haig provides some of the best lines in the movie. And Sheri Moon... well, Sheri Moon is just plain too sweet & too evil.

Pop this in the DVD player on a dark & stormy night and soon you'll be curled up in the fetal position, rocking back & forth, muttering "Bury me in a nameless grave..."

Summary: SUCK. ASS.
Review: This is the worst movie I've ever seen in my life. I have officially lost all respect for rob zombie. The movie is crap to begin with. It's just a bunch of hicks who somehow manage to capture tourists and kill them. I don't even know how they couldve pulled off anything they did even if they combined brain power. And the people being tortured, well, in less than 5 minutes you wanted them to die, cuz they were just as freaking stupid as the hicks. Don't even bother watching this.

Summary: It's alright, but don't believe the hype
Review: House of 1000 Corpses isn't by any means a bad movie...it looks great, it's extremely out there and the acting is pretty above average for this genre. But don't let the fact that this was dropped by two different movie studios fool you...the movie is not at all scary, and it really isn't even all that gory. And it does kind of feel like a 2nd or 3rd-hand version of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at times...but it's at least worth seeing once. If for no other reason, see it for Sheri Moon, Rob Zombie's girlfriend...wow!

Summary: Sickly Beautiful
Review: There is one word to sum up this movie...beautiful. I did not know what to excpect at all. After the movie was finished I was in awe. I wish the legend of Doctor Satan was true. This movie was disgusting, it was disturbing, it was absolutely PERFECT. What an enchantingly vivid mind Rob Zombie has. Not a movie for little kiddies. I loved the torture and the horrifically dazzling costumes. A great All Hallows Eve classic. I don't understand why people do not enjoy this movie. Violence and blood galore what more could you ask for?

Summary: I WANT MY 93 MINUTES BACK!!!!!!!!
Review: Luckily I rented this movie, because it sucks! I would ask Blockbuster for a refund, but I would much rather have the 93 minutes back that I spent watching this trash!

Summary: Refreshing Horror Movie
Review: With the huge amount of "modern" high-budget horror movies, House of 1000 Corpses was a breath of fresh air. It might not have been essentially scary, but Rob Zombie created a fun movie that really brought back the feeling of some classic 70s movies.

Captain Spaulding, the clown, is a character that sticks out in the movie, and the DVD featuring him in the menu feature is hysterical. The acting isn't "perfect", but its a campy horror movie...it should be that way. Hell, Evil Dead doesn't have the greatest acting ever, yet I still hold that movie in my top 10.

Its corny. Its gory. Its humorous. Overall, it is just a fun, enjoyable movie!

Summary: Spare Me
Review: Aight.... I was waiting for something that will knock me outta my seat. PUH-LEASE. Whatta waste of tape! It wasn't scary at all... the only thing that came to my mind was annoying. I swear I could hear that blonde chicks laugh in my head days after I watched the movie! I wanted to spoon my eyes out. If you see this movie on the shelf burn it.

Summary: A GROTESQUE WORK OF ART
Review: Keep the kids away from this one. This is strictly for adults. That said, it's also a work of art. I never imagined that trash could be elevated to the status of a masterpiece, but Rob Zombie has done so. Had it not been as visually and technically impressive, I certainly could not have sat through all the gore and violence and macabre situations that are so over-the-top, so bloody, and so evil. This movie depicts evil in its most accurate form: stupidity. It's a satire on how ridiculous and demented evil is. This movie slaps the face of everyone who has ever dared (or bothered) to dabble with evil. It's Fellini meets Polanski meets John Carpenter a la Zombie. I don't think I could see it more than once, because once is definitely enough!

Summary: I want my money back!
Review: Well, I must have seen a different version of 1000 corpses than the other people here.I was expecting something so intense and graphic that no major company(universal, mgm, etc.)could ever touch.boy was I wrong, the reason no one did is because it stinks! I want my money back, because its not what they promised. There is a reasonable amount of violence, but hardly any gore,no nudity but a out of focus nip shot that gets your hopes up but goes nowhere. All of the praise the actors give the movie, calling it a real horror movie, made my stomach turn. They sound like smart people, but this aint real horror. No graphic violence ,no gore,no nudity,DOESNT SOUND LIKE A 1970'S HORROR THROW BACK TO ME.Ive been cheated yet again.

Summary: A love of Rob Zombie does not mean love for this film
Review: Like most Rob Zombie fans, I anticipated the release of "House of 1000 Corpses." With his weird imagination behind it, surely he couldn't go wrong! Well, this movie has little going for it and it's obvious within the first few minutes. The plotline of a deranged, inbred family that thirsts for tourist blood is worn thin, and there really is nothing shocking and remarkable about this movie. In the end, it's nothing but flashy imagery used to try to trick the viewer into thinking it's something more than another Zombie music video.
