Rating: Summary: This is awesome! Review: The creeper is the new bad boy on the block. Joining the likes of Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface, and Candyman. This is an incredibly eerie film that used the power of suggestion (for the most part) and that is where it does great in. The Creeper is probably the only serial killer that could fight and possibly beat Jason Voorhees as strongest serial killer. Anyway, this movie is incredibly underated. Those who gave this negative reviews liked Scream so what does that tell you. Others got to worked up over the fact that they showed what the monster looked like, which was a mistake, but it didn't destroy the films' intense atmosphere. This is a must see for horror fans. Watch it alone in the dark!
Rating: Summary: Forget those who diss the movie they didn't get it! Review: At a time when the "Scream" wave has left every teen horror film in its wake awash in tongue-in-cheek tributes, self-aware teen heroes and killers who learned their trades from movie monsters, "Jeepers Creepers" is an eerie return to old-fashioned scary movies. You get the sense writer/director Victor Salva really takes this seriously. The story isn't exactly original -- Trish (Gina Philips) and little brother Darry (Justin Long) collide with a shadowy creep in an ominous tank of a screeching, screaming truck on a road trip through the back highways of nowhere -- but Salva spins a backwoods serial killer setup into something really scary. Darry's unfathomable curiosity takes them to the mystery man's cellar. It's an absurd and illogical thing for the kid to do, but it leads to the film's most unsettling and imaginative moment when he finds a dank cathedral of death. The scene sets the mood for their desperate race with the devil as an otherworldly evil burns through the natural order. Expect the usual tropes: Urban legends, dotty psychics, skeptical cops and bickering kids who make outrageously bad decisions and babble hysterically under pressure. Salva makes it work with a minimum of disbelief and creates eerie wonders with ominous imagery and scares in the dark. Where he falters is giving away too much information, taking his white-maned killer out of the shadows to reveal it in all its demonic glory. It's the same with the story: He's eager to explain when mere suggestion is much more frightening. It's a forgivable weakness in such a dark, doomed ride through a house of horrors. The ending is faulty but effective and somewhat silly. This is a seriously UNDERATED FILM! Those who diss it are morons. See this and forget about Scream!
Rating: Summary: great introduction, but then it just kind of ended Review: this film had a great intro, a lot better than most of those final destination type movies with all the pretty faces, kind of like dawson's creek. now, i know i'm very damn good looking, but not everyone is, especially in america, where most of the population is overweight. all the women in these films are very attractive and even the men are very attractive (hell some of them are prettier than the women. great intro that was influenced by classics such as texas chainsaw and duel, but it seemed to have no middle. it jumped into the action with the mysterious person being a demon from another world, eating people for certain parts of their anatomy, i.e. tongue, eyes, libia, etc. and the end was just cheesy with the demon in his little basement sewing bodies while you see the college boy's face with his eyes cut out, so the demon wins in the end.
Rating: Summary: I am so upset... Review: ...that I just spent 1 1/2 hours watching this horrible movie. I heard many good things about it, and was very excited to see it myself, and then I actually saw it, and... I can't believe how BAD it was. I don't even begin to comprehend what people saw it in. The script was just INANE, it just did not make any sense at all- some of their ridiculous actions led one to question whether the characters were on drugs or something. There were plotholes (as can be expected from any horror movie), but they were just so glaring that they were unforgivable. There was one suspenseful scene in the whole movie- the one with the cats. I would not recommend this trash even for a late-night party. It was HORRIBLE- do not see. (And I do not give things one star lightly)
Rating: Summary: Jeepers Creepers...was this a horror movie?! Review: The hype preceeding this movie, including a good review by Stephen King, made me very anxious to see it and I was very disappointed in it when I did. Take one generic creature with wings and a movie with a flimsy plot and great marketing, think Blair Witch Project here, and you have a complete waste of time at an hour and a half. The two leads are good but the fact is this movie is not scary...you're better off with The Ring or even The Others. Don't waste your time with this one...Francis Ford Coppola has his name attached as a Producer...how embarassing!
Rating: Summary: Good Horror Film Review: What we have here is another good attempt at keeping the horror genre fresh and new. While this movie shares a lot of similar elements with some typical slasher flicks, this one is a lot more suspenseful, and fairly creepy at moments too, something rarely said about slasher films. Parts of it get carried away, in terms of violence and effects, but overall the flow of the movie is very smooth. Once things get rolling it should keep you glued to the screen for an entertaining hour and a half. That's what horror films should do.
Rating: Summary: I really liked this movie Review: In a world where horror movies are nothing but stupid films about some psycho running around killing half-naked ... girls and dumb pretty-boy jocks for no real reason, this movie takes a different direction. this is a monster movie. i think it was done really well. if you haven't seen it, check it out.
Rating: Summary: This is not scary Review: When I was at a party and we all watched Jeepers Creepers , I was the only one not scared . This movie is ok . But , I recommed Valentine , its has a lot of suspence and more .
Rating: Summary: The Best in Awhile Review: I almost consider this movie to be a slasher movie, it's not until the last quarter of the movie that you realize we dealing with a supernatural type of monster. The first half of this movie gets nerves rattled enough to coast through the rest of the movie. There have been a lot of, so called, horror movies out lately but this one wasn't to cheesy and kept you on the edge of your seat. I personally liked this movie because it almost scared me, and that is very rare with the movies that are spewed out now days.
Rating: Summary: Jeepers Creepers ... Review: If I could rate this movie at less than one star, I would. This movie is .... There is no plot, and it is not scary. All in all, I would rate it about as low as a movie can go.
