Summary: Nice break from (sex) horror movies of today.
Review: I happened upon this movie by pure curiosity which is unusual for me. I was not disappointed though. As a matter of fact I was so pleasantly surprised that I plan on purchasing it. This is the first movie in at least 10 years that has made me jump several times because I was crazy enough to watch it at night. The reason why I did not give it a 5 star rating was because I was expecting a better ending. All in all...Very, very good!

Summary: WATCH IT DURING THE DAY, UNLESS YOU HAVE SILVER BULLETS!!
Review: Similar to "An American Werewolf in London". Horror movie with a splinter of humor. I found it by accident on Ebay and decided to buy it and was pleasantly surprised. Dog Soldiers is far better than your run of the mill, cookie cutter, horror movies of late. One word of warning, "watch it during the day"!!

Summary: Good but not great
Review: This is a good movie and I enjoyed viewing this movie, but answer this question before purchasing it. Are you going to buy this because you saw on the back of cover a quote from a critic saying this movie is the Dawn of the Dead of its time? If you are, then instead of buying this, go rent it first. From what I saw, Dawn of the Dead is way better than this movie. If that isn't the reason than go buy this because it is a good action-suspense movie with a giant twist at the end.

Summary: Great Movie!

Summary: The best true B-grade horror movie in years
Review: Where as the past few werewolf horror movies (American Werewolf in Paris, Bad Moon) have been horrible, Dog Soldiers offers a long awaited refreshing twist on the genre. I first caught this little gem on the Sci-Fi Channel and was pleasently surprised by the pace of the film, the characters, the surprises and storyline, the suspense, and the effects and gore. The story revolves around a team of soldiers on a training mission trying to survive the night in an old farmhouse while a pack of vicious werewolves stalk them in the night. The werewolves themselves and special makeup effects may seem primitive to the novice horror viewer, but they are a refreshing treat to horror fans who are sick of over the top computer generated effects. The cast of relative unknown actors (Sean Pertwee of Event Horizon is the only actor I recognized) are very solid and convincing; they are believeably horrified and scared of the situation while trying to find a way out. Combining elements of Night of the Living Dead and Aliens while mixing werewolves into the mix, Dog Soldiers is a refreshing B-grade horror movie treat.

Summary: At last, a decent movie with realistic British accents!
Review: As a resident of the UK, it was great to see a non-comedy-romance film from our green isle! And Hugh Grant isn't in it! Yay!

OK, so it's not the most original idea for a film, but it's done with such pace and abandon that it hardly matters. The special effects are pants, but the acting is done with such earnest and the camera-work and lighting cover over the car-seat-cover costumes. There's a good mix of talky and action scenes to keep the film rolling along nicely.

But what I loved about the film was the use of realistic accents. Note to our American cousins: 90% of the UK population DON'T have a "posh" or "cockney" accent. Usually British characters in films, even British films, have one of these accents and are usually the bad guy, too. But here you have a lovely smattering of regional accents from Scotland, North East England and beyond.

Overall, a decent attempt at a good old-fashioned splatter movie. Good work!

Summary: Low Flying Hit
Review: We all have experienced films like this...Did you ever see a film that you thought was probably...ok, but never rented it or waiting a long time to see it? But, when you saw it, it just blew you away. I had at least 3 films that did this to me, one - was the Original Indiana Jones, two - was the Original Tremors and 3- was Dog Soldiers. The action begins early on and never lets up! This movie, grabs you by the throat, twists and turns you in its jaws and rips your guts out with gore! I was on the edge of my seat for most of it, mesmerized by the generous helping of entrails and puddles of blood. Yeah, get it, own it, pop it in when you have some innocent friends over that you'd like to prey upon. Nothing can prepare them for this!!! Its awesome!

Summary: worst movie i have ever seen
Review: this is by far the worst movie i have ever seen. It is slow movie, the characters are hard to understand, and the special effects aren't that great. Don't waste your money on this movie.

Summary: Wow this is what I have bee looking for
Review: This movie borrows alot of themes from other movies and has somewhat a generic look at werewolves. For a low budget film the werewolves special effects were done rather excellent. I could hardly beleive my eyes on the transformation in some scenes. Though at times the plot is not well explained the dialogue and acting is extremely good for a B flick such as this one. The intensity is what I have been looking for that I have not seen in a long time from horror. I often watch alot of B films because they have unique ideas that are put onto film but usually they have a few good ideas but just dont quite put it together quite like this one. Sometimes B movies have better ideas than many big time horror films nowadays but just dont have the budget to make a great film. I dont know how Neil did this one but he should keep up the great work.

Summary: An Instant Roller Coaster Ride
Review: What you have here is a howling good movie, that defines all the laws of nature. Dog Soldiers is probably the best werewold horror flick I have seen in a long time. It gave chills, bumps, and I had to keep looking over my shoulder every time I thought something was behind me...

But beside the point, Dog Soldiers is a pound-a-minute roller coaster ride that makes your heart beat faster and never wanna slow down. When these band of soldiers go traveling into the woods, they stumble across another team that seemed to have been well--slaughtered, every inch of them. But as they soon discover that they are not alone, something unspoken of is out there in the woods, watching them, waiting to take them one by one. You can feel your own heart beating as you watch the werewolves sneak upon the soldiers' attacks.

I don't want to give to much info away, due to the fact that this is a very intense, scary movie that will shock you, and disturb you at the same. Which gets you pumped up, and wanting more werewolf action. I give this movie 4 stars, for it's witty dialouge and strong action sequences. Dog Soldiers is a howl of a movie that devliers, and plays with your imagination making you believe in these beasts.

So, with furtherado, if you want a howling good time, then definatley go for Dog Doldiers. You won't be disappointed.
