Rating: Summary: "I'm a little teapot short and stout" Review: This is my first Stephen King film and I absolutely loved it. It contains all the ingredients for a great horror/thriller film. The acting by Colm Feore(Andre Linoge) was great!!!!!!! I also liked the soundtrack because even though it was basically the same lalala the whole movie it created a somewhat creepy pessimistic environment which made it better when someone was getting possessed. The whole idea of a demon possessing people is just totally great. That cane rules. Linoge being 'Legion' is really cool. I think the kids acted really well. I liked the part when the kids saw the cane, touched it, then dropped dead(sleeping?). This film was somewhat repetitive and long because each death was caused by someone being possessed, but each murder and suicide was great because of the detail and emotion and creepiness. Perhaps the creepiest murder(suicide) was when the old lady drowned her face in the sink. The goriest part is when the man cuts himself to pieces with the axe. The scariest thing about it is that after each murder they always wrote "Give me what I want, and I'll go away". That quote is probably the best line in a horror flick ever. This film was scary, yes, but I found it more of a suspense thriller, because I slept during the night fine(I saw it at 8oclock at night and it finished at midnight). I recommend this film to anybody who is fascinated by the art of possessing people and to anyone who reads Stephen King like a crackhead snorts dope(me). Go to blockbuster or where ever and please get this film, it is great.
Rating: Summary: this movie gave me what i wanted Review: Now sitting down to watch the highly anticipated 4 part t.v. adaption ( i now own the dvd and it is amazing) I didn't have any exspectations because there was no novel version( the only book you can by of this was the screenplay and it wasn't availible at the time i saw it) The setting was definetly King worthy small maine town a big storm nothing the towns people of little tall island have gone through 100 times before or is it....................The acting Is incredible for a tv movie such as this the villian is scary as hell yet realistic and some may say this movie is to slow paced but i disagree as you watch on you see the characters mature and grow and thats just not going to happen in a span of 2 hours so this movie is long for good reason. No matter how many times i watch this the night after i look around my room twice before turning off the light............................
Rating: Summary: Good, even though slow paced Review: I enjoyed this mini series, and especially liked the conflicts and aftermath of Linoge's visit. I'd like to find out if Legion is the same as the charcter of Legion from the Dark Tower, another possible incarnation of R.F.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie...Hard to Find Review: This is my second favorite S. king movie (the Shawshank Redemption is my fav). This is really awesome for a miniseries. It's gloomy, creepy; especially a little island helpless in a horrible snowstorm when a mysterious entity comes and commits crimes and says nothing but "Give me what I want and i'll go away." What does he want? It's more frighteneing than the islanders think. Plus a theory on what happened to Roanoake colony (the one that disappeared) is revealed. Ecellect movie. I highly reccomend it. Although it is hard to find in many stores cause they dont have it. Blasphemy!
Rating: Summary: It`s just great Review: I have to say it; I love it! I love that this is not a fairy tale, I love that god guys not nessesarily win..
Rating: Summary: Stephen King At His Best Review: This Movie Is Great. Its got blood, horror, great acting, great storyline, and sad ending. get it! you won't be dissappointed.
Rating: Summary: A Good One To See Review: This is a good one for those who like the way Stephen King puts story lines together. I do recommend this on with a good bag of buttered popcorn. Oh, Danjal Jannik Nyberg, as for the word "Croatoan" it was carved on a tree on Roanoke Island after the people there dissapeared. ...
Rating: Summary: Gotta have this movie Review: This is a very long movie, Stephen King made another good one. This movie kept me in suspense, especially the stranger that was in town. I would give it 4 stars good movie.
Rating: Summary: Better than I expected Review: Actually, I'm giving it three and a half stars. The reasons why I don't give it four, are because 1)You never find out what 'croaton' means (it seems 'cheap' to just throw in a mysterious word, never to have it fully explained) and 2) It reminded me too much of 'Needful Things', which, in my opinion, is one of King's absolutely worst works ever, both the book and the movie. Oh, and the fact that this movie took place on the same island as 'Dolores Claiborne' was also slightly annoying, as 'D.C' is an excellent true-to-life tale, and it just didn't seem right to have the Devil or somesuch visit that place. Overall, it's an entertaining movie - though I, personally, liked 'Rose Red' better...guess I'm just a sucker for haunted house stories..:o)
Rating: Summary: Mixed Feelings Review: My wife and I just rented "Storm of the Century" on DVD and didn't realize that it was a miniseries first. The characters are good and the acting well done, I can't think of any flat acting that stood out to me. Tim Daly as the local constable and voice of reason (paid $6,000 a year and worth every penny) was very good. The villian was very well done and very creepy. However I think the story is too long in places; for example, after Linoge is locked up, the sequence goes on for too long... this movie could have been cut by an hour and still be very effective.
