Summary: Gremlins Is A Great Classic
Review: I have always loved this movie. It's a fun, entertaining horror/comedy. Zach Galligan stars as a young man whose inventor father buys him a very interesting Christmas present. It turns out to be some kind of creature. The boy names it Gizmo. But, there are rules. If he eats after midnight, well, bad versions of the cute little guy come. And, of course, it happens. Scaly little monsters are running amok oon the town in a great cartoonish, but violent, way. There are many great set pieces here that are classics. If that isn't enough, then you get the added pleasure of seeing Phoebe Cates for two hours. I can't ask for more than that. Gremlins is a classic. Gremlins 2 is another loopy, silly fun movie.

Summary: Gremlins Hermy the Great Has spoken
Review: Gremlins is one fun movie!! The movie is all about fun, fun and more fun. I grew up on this movie. It had been my favoured movie as a child. Ok now I know it's not the most intelligent movie of all time, but to be honest that's the whole point. So if you're the kinda person who can take a break from classy stuff and have a little fun like a kid, then you'll love this. Don't get me wrong I love shakespear and Dickens, but it's good to sometimes not be serous. Oh and warning to some of you, there are a few violent scenes. The new cover makes it look more like a family movie. I would show it to my kids, if I had any but others may disagree. So if you got kids and are picky with what they view, watch it by yourself first. I know kids love the movie though, cause I remember how I felt.

Summary: WHERE IS GREMLINS 2? AND WHERE ARE THE SPECIAL FEATURES?
Review: Gremlins is a great movie. A Classic, it always will be. However why is this movie being released again with a new cover, if nothing is added to the film? Since Joe Dante isnt doing anything now, why doesnt he dig up some things for this films release...Just another monkey making scheme...

RELEASE GREMLINS 2 what's the hold up??? If you can Release GREMLINS AGAIN...why not part 2.....PLEASE... Note to readers: There is only one trailer, thats it.

Summary: Excellent Movie
Review: Gremlins, the wonderful classic. The best horror/comedy around. I recommend this movie to everyone. These funny little guys attack everyone in town and have a great time while doing it. I'm sure you'll enjoy watching them tear the town apart too! Check it out, highly recommended to all!

Summary: Furbies beware!!!!
Review: The gremlins were first and I think they ought to do one these days where the gremlins get out and get the furbies but as for this film it is the one of the greatest movies to come from eighties. It's a kid's film but scary enough that adults will like it but yes you should be on hand for grabbing if a child wants to watch but maybe you should watch first and see if it's suitable for your child age. Some children are more sensitive than others are. My daughter seems to scare easily but she loved the gremlins. I loved it as a kid. It's great rooting for Gizmo and hoping he ends up all right. Hope you all enjoy it as much as my family. I try to share the classics of my youth with my children.

Summary: Still my all-time favorite movie (especially for Christmas)
Review: I'm a sucker for dark comedies. I'm a sucker for horror films. I'm a sucker for movies with lots of inside jokes. In other words, I'm dead center of Joe Dante's target demographic.

This movie has it all. It starts out like an homage to "It's A Wonderful Life", then things start getting weird. Amid lots of cool cameos and typical Joe Dante background action (always watch what TV's are playing in the background of any scene in a Dante film), the film begins taking an ominous turn.

Adeptly, Dante keeps his options open far past when you'd expect him to have to commit, so you're over halfway through before you know for sure whether it's going to be funny or creepy. The decision is signaled with the comic execution of the show's least likable character. From there, it's simply the funniest film ever made.

I especially love the cameos - Chuck Jones, Steven Spielberg, Robby the Robot, the Time Machine (check out the background action in *that* scene!), "Show White", and the list goes on. The casting of both major and minor characters is perfect, with lots of recognizable veterans along with Joe Dante regulars such as Dick Miller. The deliciously evil mayhem of the gremlins themselves leaves no icon of popular culture untapped.

Many have claimed that the sequel was better, but I have to disagree. For me, the contrast between the Capra-esque backdrop and the "What type of film is this?" treatment are what elevate it to greatness. The sequel lacked both qualities. It's also not going to be as popular with critics who like to be able to categorize any film within the first 15 minutes.

I can't recommend it highly enough! I'd especially recommend it as the ultimate anti-Christmas movie for when it's late December and you're getting really burned out on forced cheerfulness.

Update:
Ok, after decades in the top spot, Gremlins has lost that honor to the Lord of the Rings trilogy (which I consider to be a single movie). Still, I've been watching movies for a half century plus, so 2nd place isn't too shabby! It still holds the record as the film I saw the most times in a theater - I paid for 12 tickets before I figured I'd caught enough of the gags going on in the background or periphery.
