Rating: Summary: Clever idea, but... Review: A quality horror film should instill fright without the person having to adopt a special frame of mind during the viewing. The final scene in this movie was creepy, but overall, I did not think this was a scary movie. I guess the only people who may truly be frightened by BWP are campers and outdoorsmen.Ultimately, the crowing achievements of this film will be the clever marketing, and the fact that so many people initially believed that this "mockumentary" was real.
Rating: Summary: WHERE DID THE 60 GRAND GO TO ANYWAY ? Review: Definitely rent this one first ! It deserves maybe a two star rating maybe a three at best; however, I wanted to drag down the average of three and a half stars. It is a nice idea, but it is poorly, poorly done. Maybe the next time someone tries to make a low budget Hollywood movie they will include a mediocre plot, some horror for a horror movie, and a good ending. Those all of which, obviously, were missing and could not be found. This movie is not worth your money. The only thing I was thinking about was: is this over yet?
Rating: Summary: Somebody Get Me Something To Stay Awake! Review: I have never seen a movie with such publicity that was so boring. I had never seen this movie before, then one night it was played at an underground dance club on a huge projection screen. I was curious since I never saw it before. Well all I saw was a bunch of beer-guzzling teens cussing at each other through the entire movie. I had nothing to drink, and my head was spinning so fast during the movie from the so-called camcorders. Where was the witch? I would stick to A Nightmare on Elm Street films to watch. If you wanted to play Blair Witch at a Halloween party to impress your friends, your friends would rather be trick-or-treating themselves for a REAL horror movie! This was the most boring movie I ever saw. Nearly half of the movie had to be in total darkness. It does not take a genious to use camcorders, but a camcorder can be a genious way to put one to sleep, especially with all the darkness, and waiting, waiting, and oh, waiting for something big to happen. .....Nothing big happens.
Rating: Summary: One of the scariest movies of all time! Review: The creativity and climatic ending are outstanding. It leaves a lot up to the imagination. Those who think poorly of this movie are shallow minded.
Rating: Summary: Extremely hyped up, boring film! Pure Crap! Review: i did not like this movie. In fact, I could say that Im very close to hating it. What was so scary about this crap? The only thing that would make it scary is knowing that it's real, which we all now know it isn't, even though we were hyped up to believe that it was. We were all dooped into watching this piece of shot and thinking that its real. Even then, i wasnt scared. What's so scary about a bunch of people screaming and cursing for 90 minutes. It's just plain boring. The only reason this movie got three stars instead of one, was because of the ending. That does save the film somewhat. It actually gave me goosebumps. But hey, that was the last three minues. The rest of the movie is BORING. Avoid the hype and skip this at all costs if u havent alreay seen it.
Rating: Summary: A movie that sends chills up my spin! Review: For those of you who couldn't look past the fiction part of the story and put yourself into the character's shoes, then you couldn't appreciate this movie. The ending definitely sent chills up my spine that will last for a few days! I've heard both good and bad reviews, but you have to watch the movie before you form an opinion.
Rating: Summary: I'm still waiting to be scared... Review: It's not your typical movie...I agree with that. It's got some spooky moments...I agree with that, too. But scary? Not really. I'd heard people say they hadn't been this scared since "The Exorcist"...which sounded like a promising endorsement. However, I have to admit I found virtually the entire production to be monotonous and boring. I kept watching only in the hope that I would finally get to the "scary" parts. Unfortunately, the film ended and I was still waiting. While parts of it were creepy (such as finding those stick figures hanging in the forest), none of it was truely frightening. Things became very predictable as the movie progressed, and I think the conclusion was obvious as soon as they saw that house. As for the "realism"...are there actual people as stupid as the characters represented here? Now that's frightening! A good effort at trying to work "outside the box," but I'm still waiting on the bone-chilling terror.
Rating: Summary: By Far the scariest movie I have ever seen Review: The Blair Witch Project has veiwers torn, they either loved it or hated it. I myself loved it. The way it was made actually made veiwers think the legend along with the town and the characters were real. The ending was very creepy, but the watcher would have to pay very close attention in order to catch the creepiness. The only complaints I have heard is that it didn't go into how the video was found and that it didn't actually show the villian. The movie really left a lot to imagine instead of putting it right underneath our noses. Some people like that, some people don't. All in all, it was a great film.
Rating: Summary: Scary ending but a boring first half hour Review: The first thing about the film I heard was from a friend who said that it is supposed to be one of the scariest movies ever. About a month later everyone was saying how good it SHOULD be. It came out at the cinema in England on Friday the 29th of October and so I went to a local cinema to try to watch it but it was sold out this made my expectations even higher .I eventually got to watch it the next day with a couple of friends .I found the first half an hour boring but the ending was superb. When I went back to school on Monday many people had seen it and they all said the same THE ENDING IS BRILLIANT. A must see film for horror and scary movie lovers
Rating: Summary: I would rather have a root canal than watch this movie again Review: This was, by far, the worst movie of all time. It was not scary by any stretch of the imagination. The concept was good -- but the movie left a great deal to be desired (it basically sucked!). It was all I could do to even stay awake! Don't waste your money -- rent it before you buy it.
