Summary: I won't go camping anytime soon!
Review: Horror movies never bother me but this one I can't seem to get out of my head. In a time when we are desensitized to the blood and gore of horror movies, we don't know what fear or being scared really are. The Blair Witch Project shows us what a true horror movie is. I have never been so scared by a movie and for that I have to give this flick a top notch review. If you haven't seen it yet, make it a priority.

Summary: not scary as stated
Review: Well - scary its not. Shaky and jumpy it is. Great idea but a story - and not a true one. Got to see it once - twice no? 2nd Video on the origins of the story is ok and helps to bring the original movie in focus and what was the true story of blair witch.

Summary: A Great Show Not To See If You Fear The Unknown And Unseen.
Review: This was the most terrifying movie I have ever seen by far. When it was night on the film and things began to happen, I had tears of fright in my eyes. The way it was shot made it even more frighteningly because it made you feel like you were there with them. I thought I was going to have to leave before it ended for fear of screaming. I held my boyfriend's hand so tightly that his knuckles cracked. I was kept on the edge of my seat but my boyfriend fell asleep not even half way through it. People that have seen the show come in two varieties. "It was awesome," or "it sucked." I think that it depends on what scares you most as a person. For me it was the unknown, and this movie centered right on that.

Summary: Waste of time and money
Review: An amatuer, and utterly unentertaining movie, even for student filmmakers. The distributors of this film are the only true geniuses, who managed to hype this movie as the greatest horror of all time, while a person can get more scared watching local news.

Summary: Boring, plodding, nausea-inducing crap
Review: This has to be one of the most over-hyped, misleading, and underwhelming movies I've ever seen. I wish I had a time machine so that I could get those 87 minutes of my life back. I can say nothing good about this film. There was no suspense, implied or otherwise, the "unscripted" panic was too predictable, and the time spent just waiting for something to happen did nothing to heighten the dread I was supposed to feel. But my biggest complaint about this film is the horrible camera work. Before I get flamed, I understand perfectly well that this film was supposed to be shot as if it was by amateur filmmakers, and, therefore, was supposed to be edgy and off-kilter. But I felt my gorge rise every time I dared to glance at the screen. I left this movie with a splitting headache and an intense desire to throw up. Many in the theater with me felt the same; in fact, when the film was over, many people booed! (Well, those who could still stand up.) I went into this film avoiding as much of the hype as possible, expecting to be terrified on a psychological level. (That has to be better than gratuitous special effects, right?) This film didn't deliver. It was a great premise that was wasted on a dull 87 minutes of celluloid. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, so hopefully my post will give the other Blair Witch haters out there the courage to tell the truth about this tragedy of a film.

Summary: Perhaps if it was real...
Review: If the movie was real, it may have been frightening, or at least disturbing. The fact that this move was staged by actors and directors changed my whole perspective. Real-life terror is frightening, but a movie must go beyond real-life and pull the viewer in. A movie must be riveting, The Blair Witch Project was just annoying. I found myself laughing at Mike, and getting queasy from the poor camera work. By the time I was half-way through the movie I was begging for the Blair Witch to take the girl (I forgot her name) and make her disappear. I approached the movie with high expectations (which is not always a good thing), and it fell far below. If I had thought that there really was something threatening haunting them, I may have shared their fear. A good movie follows anticipation with climax, but I don't think this ever reached that point. I'm sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but this was just a movie, nothing more - but much less. I don't mean to discourage those who have not seen the movie, most people I know liked it - It just was not for me.

Summary: Great movie but....
Review: Great and unique movie but the biggest drawback about the movie is that it's real boring if you watch it more than once. The impact is totally lost. You later realize the movie wasnt THAT great, but it was very original.

Summary: A breath of fresh air in horror (Finally)!!!!!
Review: Being the picky horror connessiuer that I am,I found Blair Witch to meet all my criteria, and then some. I was totally awestruck and downright terrified after seeing this film. Awestruck in the facts that their were no screaming teeny boppers running around half dressed, no blood, guts and gore used in order to fill in the time, no big name "actors" used to bring in an audience, and last but certainly not least..a film budget containing only $40,000!!!! I found this movie to be nothing short of a stroke of genius. In the era of just about everything being caught on film these days, this movie was a first to capitalize in this particular way. I found The Blair Witch Project to be a movie based totally on psychological suspense with the sheer terror of the unknown. A movie that will be enjoyed for many years to come by others such as myself, who were lucky enough to remember what true horror actually meant. The innuendoes revealed in this movie, was enough to keep me awake for a few nites! I must say i haven't been this frightened in a long time. I feel sorry for those who did not appreciate this movie. I blame that not only on the oversaturated plugs for the film by the media, but also the lack of imagination that is too often previlant in todays society. The Blair Witch Project is certain to become a classic.

Summary: Classic Horror
Review: Sick and tired of the same ole' horror flick where all you see is the gore and the perspective of the killer or ghost? The Blair Witch Project takes you back to the classic horror where you have to use your imagination to figure out what is scaring you. A perfectly acted movie where virtual unknowns make you believe they are scared out of thier wits. And they take you along for the ride. Get this movie.....You won't regret it.

Summary: boring, boring, boring
Review: Another example of Hollywood over-hype.

The Blair Witch Project had an interesting premise, but it missed in the delivery. To enjoy this film, you have to be willing to feel sorry for three stupid people who get themselves lost in the woods. The characters are overacted, swear up a blue streak, and react badly to the situations they created themselves. Most people who hear strange sounds while camping assume they are created by woodland animals, and don't immediately start running from the campsite.

For me and my friends, the film was just boring. Everyone kept waiting for something scary to happen, but it never does. When the characters themselves get scared, you either can't tell why, because the hand-held cameras and muffled audio track obscure anything you might determine for yourself, or you don't care, because their reaction seems inappropriate.

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but in the closing credits, they advertise the soundtrack CD. Hello! There WAS no musical soundtrack, just some quiet ambient music during the closing credits! So what's on the CD? The three kids swearing at each other for 58 minutes? Babies crying?
