Rating: Summary: The best comedy ever Review: What was this? A comedy? Nothing was scary AT ALL! This was the worst waste of money I spent at a movie theater ever! You couldn't pay me to see this movie again. SORRY! Please don't waste your money, unless you are either a wuss or you like to laugh a lot.
Rating: Summary: psychologically satisfying, but definitely flawed Review: I am surprised that no one has commented on the Sartresque quality of the Blair Witch trio. The film reminded me of No Exit, in which one character says, "Hell is other people." This comment directly applies to the relationship between Heather, Mike & Josh. When they get lost and 'lose' the map, is it because they're losing their minds, or just disoriented from hunger and fatigue, or because they are out to get one another on some level? I appreciated these aspects of the film. I did not appreciate the use of the f-word (it gets *very* old, *very* fast) and some of the other repetitious dialogue ('turn off the camera!' 'the DAT! The Dat!' 'I want to get this on film' etc.), nor did I think the coverage of the Witch at the outset was adequate. Even though I didn't know this was a fiction beforehand, it was clear from the dialogue -- all but devoid of personal detail, pop culture references or product placement -- that the 'script' was actively sticking to certain topics and avoiding others. Overall, though, I enjoyed the film and its "project". The ending was very scary!
Rating: Summary: It's not what you see... Review: it's what you don't see! This movie is one of the best horror flicks to of been produced in a long time. Starting of as a "B" movie, it's risen it's way quickly to stardom! This movie seems so realistic, that you leave wondering (even when you knew beforehand that it was not real) if what you just saw actually happened! If you haven't seen this movie before, make sure to check out the web site first, and then see the movie. Then you really will question everyone who said it didn't happen. **TIP -- If you get carsick, or motionsickness, make sure to take your travel sickness pills first!!**
Rating: Summary: The Hype Strikes Back! Review: Although this film is cleverly thought out & in theory a great idea, it can be split into two easy parts:- (1) First hour and ten minutes: Tedious. (2) Last fifteen minutes: Great & scary. Worth a watch but don't expect to enjoy all of it.
Rating: Summary: Question Review: I would like to know more about the documentary that was NOT made in conjunction with the movie. The two young men that made the film were interviewed on Good Morning America and were asked about it. They agreed that they thought on first viewing, that it was a lot like their movie, but said after taking a long look at it, there were a lot of differences and then gave the year of their copyright, which I believe was 1992. So there is one documentary that is a companion to the movie; and one that was made completely separate from the movie and by totally different people that seems to have disappeared into thin air. Does anyone know anthing at all about it?
Rating: Summary: Awesome movie!!! Review: Living close to Maryland, I understood all the folk lore surrounding things like the Blair Witch (even though she doesn't exist)... it's movies like this that make you keep the nightlight on and sleeping with one eye open!
Rating: Summary: Original, but not up to the hype Review: I agree with the movie's originality, with a good premise, but I didn't find the movie terribly scary... for those who did, the general consensus is "put yourself in their place". And then I'd be more curious than scared. At least it isn't Los Angeles at 2 a.m. I would never have known this would be a box-office hit, but it certainly was original, and the acting is appropriate for the situations. It's good to see a movie that doesn't rely on special effects and big budgets. This movie is better than Independence Day, for example.
Rating: Summary: Good movie. Excellent T-Shirt!!! Review: After seeing the Blair Witch Project, I was so scared I said to myself, "Gosh, I wish I had a t-shirt that had glow in the dark letters on it so that when I go to bed after watching this movie again, I won't be so SCARED!!!" And the gods of marketing have answered my prayers! I suggest buying two, and throwing out the movies! Why bother, when you've got promotional material that's so comfortable and durable? Thank you Blair Witch!
Rating: Summary: Original Review: This is the only good movie I have seen at the cinema recently. I think the best thing in this film is the acting. Everything looks so real that one might think that this is not a film, but that it is really a found footage...Another good point is that you have no idea what's going to happen at the end, and the end is pretty original. I wouldn't say it it's one of the best films ever, but it is definitely to be remembered for its inventiveness...
Rating: Summary: The Scariest Movie Ever Made Review: This movie is probably the scariest movie ever made because of how real it is. Also, what scares me the most is the things which we can't see, but we know that they are there, lurking in the shadows. What a thrill to see The Blair Witch Project. I was absolutely terrified.
