Summary: Don't expect too much.
Review: The movie could have been scary if we thought it was real. Since it was hyped up so much in the newspapers and television, a lot of people were expecting a gorefest and the same amount of trial violence. It is a psychological thriller but now that the surprise is ruined, the 'scary' effect just isn't the same. WARNING: If you hate excessive cursing and annoying useless bantering, don't buy this DVD.

Summary: Bottom line:If your into three ***'s in woods, go for It.

Summary: A sad excuse for a movie
Review: The only types of peolple that could like this movie are those who are affected by hype. This movie makes you sick with the camera and a lack of good actors. This is the worst hyped-up movie of the decade. Save your money and don't buy this peice of crap.

Summary: Lost sleep because of it
Review: I saw the special when it first aired on the Sci-fi channel. From the beginning it snatched at my attention and held onto it until the end. "Curse of the Blair Witch" set an excellent background for the movie and in my opinon was put together better. I advise you to see "Curse..." before going to see the "Blair Witch Project". CAUTION - YOU MAY LOSE SLEEP OVER IT!!!

Summary: One of a kind - - not to be compared with other scary films!
Review: This film is less about being scared, but more about the fear of the unknown and not being in control........ the real fear that makes you scared. It taps into your primal senses of fear and anxiety that normally don't get messed with during run of the mill horror flicks. The Blair Witch Project is not a film to watch and like or dislike...... it is an experience, but you must lift yourself above the boundries of Hollywood to really understand this film. You must see it!

Summary: Too distracted to be scared..
Review: Even though I applaud the originality of the marketing and the movie itself, the three's CONSTANT bickering makes it very hard to be scared. I was so ready to kill them all myself (especially the girl) that it was a relief when they were quiet and scared and not yelling at each other. Oh well.. nobody asked me anyway.

Summary: Over-Hyped, But Not Over-Rated
Review: This movie is highly original and superbly acted. The three leads are a joy to watch. Heather Donahue's performance alone makes TBWP unmissable. Come in Jamie Lee Curtis - your time is up! Is TBWP the scariest movie of all time? Well, one can't help feeling that it so easily COULD have been. In it's drive for realism, TBWP has eliminated one of the essential ingredients of great horror cinema: a chilling music score. The interactive menus on this DVD show just how scary even a little background music can be. Despite this, TBWP more than delivers in the spook stakes. The ending, in particular, will play on your mind for days (and nights). As a DVD, TBWP is superbly put together, with extras that make you glad you forked out for that player. However, would a widescreen version have been too much to ask for? I'm not sure how the movie looks in theatres (it doesn't open here for another 2 weeks), but the "framed" fullscreen picture bugged me at times. A small blot on an otherwise impressive copybook.

Summary: The DVD extras were the best part. The movie was terrible.
Review: OK, the BLair Witch phenom is best characterized by two words, "good marketing". All the credit should go to the advertising companies on this one. The movie itself was about the equivalent of a home video made by my 9 year old brother on a family camping trip. For the most part it's just wobbly camera work(which isn't that bad) and an occasional person banging on the outside of the tent. I was more scared in Boy Scout camp. The only redeeming part of this movie was the very end, and by this we're talking the last 3 minutes or so. The acting was bad, the "scary" stuff was so cheesy, and the plot was pretty weak("oh we're still lost. let's go this way"). The idea and concept of it though wasn't half bad and I think that if they'd had a decent budget it could have been good, but coming down to it in the end it's just a movie that's 98% people wandering through the woods and 1.5% people looking at twigs hanging on trees, and .5% semi-scary. Give me a Scream anyday for the scare factor. The only way I could see people enjoying the movie is if they thought it was real, and that these people had actually died and this was actually their footage, but I think the people that believe that should be shot because they're obviously idiots. Too many people are claiming to like this movie because it's the "in" thing to do. Watch it on your own and I can guarentee you'll be rushing out to see anything else that even resembles a decent movie. Godzilla, Batman and Robin, The Avengers, and The Postman are just a small sampling of movies that demolished this one(to give you an idea of how bad this actually was). For the DVD specifically it did come with some nice added features though.

Summary: This movie scared the @#$@% out of me.
Review: WARNING: FOR THOSE WHO GET MOTION SICKNESS..you will not like this movie. This is movie is also *not* for those who HAVE to see the monster or boogie man. (You know the ones...very literal, visual, no imagination) But, for the rest of us...if you were ever afraid of the unkown, the unexplained sounds, creaks, or the possibility of what could be...if you can imagine something far worse than what has been dribbled out in the horror genre...THEN YOU WILL FREAK'N LOVE THIS MOVIE. The key to this movie is what the viewer brings to it. All those childhood fears surface...This is the first trully scary film I have seen.
