Summary: An original masterpiece
Review: This film is original in its direction and production. I don't know how some of you gave this movie one star or two. You need to see the witch? You're telling me if you go home and see your house trashed, you won't get scared until you see the criminal? I don't think so. If you see the criminal, you have some control as to where to go or what to do. But not knowing where the culprit is, it's anybody's guess. This is how "The Blair Witch Project" movie was strong, because you don't see the witch. Another great aspect is the realism of the film. I certainly felt more attached to those characters then the other horror film victims because it was like seeing something live, without special lighting effects.

Summary: spooky, spooky, spooky!
Review: The people who don't like this movie who I've encountered so far have all been in extreme denial that it was effective to them. They force laughter out and keep insisting how dumb and how funny the whole thing is. These people get annoying. It takes imagination to let this movie be effective. You have to remember how damn scary it was to be a kid afraid of the dark. This is one of the most original movies of the year and the ending was completely, satisfyingly scary. The acting by the three leads was very good, very realistic, and people who complain about the jittery camera have obviously never seen a home video before. I'm sick of people ripping on this movie. It is a brilliant film, and even if it doesn't scare you, at least appreciate the fact that it is scaring others, and these people aren't whimps. They just know a good movie when they see one.

Summary: Sheer Genius, the filmmakers were masters of implication
Review: This film was brilliant. There is no denying it. Granted it is pretty much an "artsy" flick, so many mainstream viewers simply wouldn't care for it. Was it as horrifying as the hype said? I didn't think so. It was creepy, and there were some intense scenes where I had to remind myself to breathe. There was also some humor, and the humor was intentional and used effectively.

It was a very scary movie. It plays on your fears at the psychological level. It never shows you or tells you what exactly to be afraid of. It allows you to dredge all that terrifies you out of your dark subconscious and so each person's experience is very personal. What is it that frightens you when you are walking across that dark parking lot alone at night? What are those thoughts you have in your tent in the middle of the night that you tuck away and don't think about? This is what this movie brings to the forefront.

One more thing I have to add: The last 30 seconds of this movie is probably the most frightening sequence I have seen in any movie in a long, long, time, but only if you were paying attention in the beginning.

Summary: Scared shitless!!!
Review: I had never heard of the Blair Witch Project until a friend told me about it and said that it was a true story and real footage. What I saw shocked and horrified me, and I am proud to say that I snigger at most horror films. This one however took me completely by suprise. The best thing about this film is that it seems real. Being behind the camera makes you believe you're actually in the plot. Very refreshing after years of aliens running around ripping people to pieces then copulating with them! Right till the end did I believe it was a true story, so compelling were the performances and naked realism. Only when I saw the final credits, while I was shaking in terror, did I realise I'd been duped. It was the 1st time in my life that I saw an entire audience not move and be quiet for at least 5 minutes after the movie. Also, Heather deserves an Oscar for her performance. Especially for her monologue in the tent with the torch in her face. That moment particulary moved me. Later, I felt physically sick. Many people in the audience weren't able to stay until the end. This film has become a cult movie for me. The others being only the Star Wars saga and Werewolf in London. I loved it.

Summary: One of a kind..........
Review: There has never been a more overhyped film-year like 1999 (Star Wars, Eyes Wide Shut). But most attention on the internet for a film was given to the Blair Witch Project. I've seen the film and I must say that it is the best psychological horrorfilm I've ever seen. But some oppinions are different. People seem not satisfied with the ending of the movie or with the fact that they don't see this wicked witch. And that is where the movie succeeds in my view. The whole mysterie of this film is shaped by the fact that we, and the students don't know what is really out there. Some -thing is, and it isn't very safe. Once they have learned this, they are shaped by fear of the unknown and the knowledge that they can't get out. The fact that this movie is shot on 16mm, contributes to the reality-like image of the film. You have to appreciate the film for what it is, you have to get lost in it while you see it, and then you won't sleep so tight tonight.

P.S: People who have interresting facts about the Blair Witch or if you are also into film, be free to send an email to me.

Summary: The most unique fright flick ever !
Review: This movie plays with your mind if you open your mind to it totally.Don't expect some Hollywood super thriller here. There's no special effects or blood and guts, just using your mind as if you were actually on the journey. If you have ever stayed in a tent in the woods or even just ventured into the forest one evening, you can understand the mystery of the atmosphere. This is what this movie captures. Using your imagination is more sensational than letting Hollywood show you every fake monster and spelling out every little thing that happens. Open your minds and let this picture take you where it intends you to be. Needless to say I was impressed with it's original format and it's staying power in the mind. Check it out !

Summary: Innovative Movie Making At It's Best
Review: One of the most innovative movies of our time. Myrick and Snachez show their brillance with their debut movie. With true to life acting and a non-specific script ("i.e. go so far and look in trees") and the "actors" not knowing what will happen next, Ed and Dan have brought movie making to the next level. A must see for true film lovers.

Summary: You will remember your first view for a lifetime.
Review: If you ever sat around a campfire terrified as a child listening to ghost stories and want to revisit that feeling then this movie is for you. If you let yourself believe in the "rumours" at the beginning of the movie then you are i for a very entertaining time. I enjoyed this movie very much.

Summary: Cinemaphiles Only
Review: Unless you have a very open mind, if you're not a cinemaphile, you won't like The Blair Witch Project. From a cinematic standpoint, the film was brilliant. The filmakers did what few others have done successfully: they used the human imagination alone to induce fear. But the average closed minded movie viewer will probably not enjoy Blair Witch nearly as much as movie buffs. Simply put, the movie was never intended for the average person. It was designed as a low budget art film for people who enjoy low budget art films.
