Summary: Not exactly scary, but VERY creepy!
Review: Never had the opportunity to see this movie in the theater, but I decided to buy it on DVD since it was a good deal. To say the least, I was absolutely creeped-out! If you're looking for blood, guts, monsters and horror, then look elsewhere. But, if you're looking for the embodiment of supernatural soul-searching creepiness, then this is YOUR bag baby!! The Blair Witch Project is raw and very rough. There's no multi-million dollar post production effects here, nope, just a movie that executes a tale of 3 people gathering information on the "Blair Witch" story of a small town. The best thing that you can do is NOT EXPECT A LOT FROM THIS MOVIE!! Don't do that to yourself, but watch it in its pureness and style that is created all its own. Watch everything, and listen to all the dialog. Turn off the lights, and get excited.

When it starts to fire up...you'll find your pulse rocketing to stroke-paced-speed, and the sweat on your brow cold as ice. Let your emotions and inhibitions lay low...let your psyche get filled on the nectar of this horrific masterpiece!

Summary: A Viewer From Alaska
Review: This is the most stupdiest movie I have ever seen I hope they never make A sequel to this. I think the Sixth Sense was better than this.

Summary: Is it live or is it Memorex?
Review: I went and saw The Blair Witch Project before it went into wide release, and had several people tell me and eventually convince me that what I was seeing was actually true footage - that these three students actually did lose their lives in the forest after being tormented for three days. It was this aspect that truly terrified me. I can honestly say that I have NEVER been more scared than during that final scene. The thought that what I was watching actually happened is what truly frightened me. Once I realized that the movie itself was "fake", I revisited it and wasn't nearly as scared. Still, I will never forget cowering in my theater seat and feeling my heart in the back of my throat during that first screening. Cudos to the makers of such an original film, and to the marketing team who presented all the advertising so effectively.

Summary: This movie scared the crap out of me!
Review: I lost sleep for three days over the Blair Which. Because everyone i talked to said that it was real. The three kids where real and they really got lost and they really died like that. I tried to forget it and get some sleep and thats why i had to get online and find out the truth about it otherwise I would still be terrified. I felt real dumb and real releived that it was "just a movie" The kids and the producers deserve alot of credit for this movie cause its one of a kind.

Summary: I actually threw this DVD out to the garbage bin.
Review: They should have package this movie with a 26 pounds hammer free with every purchase, so you can bonk your head, after paying $30.00 for this so called horror movie, I felt cheated, I was stupid enough to sit and watch the whole thing, let me tell you one thing, even home made movie has better quality than this, doesn't matter you watch on a big screen or small screen, this movie has no colors, the dullest movie in this century, you don't have to believe me, if you have money to waste, go buy one, you will have the biggest sorry in your whole life, I guarantee it! Also give me 40,000 US, I can make a better home made movie than this, and if you want to learn the swear words, this is the champ, in a short hour, you will speak the same language as those guys.

Summary: Nothing could live up to the hype, but good nonetheless
Review: I just got the DVD of The Blair Witch Project, and enjoyed it a lot. I had to spend most of 1999 avoiding all the hype and articles on this movie, so that I could watch the movie on DVD when it came out and experience it as a whole. As such, I enjoyed the movie a lot and am not ashamed to admit I had major goosebumps for the entire end of the movie when they were in the house. No, it didn't give me nightmares, but it was a very original movie and deserves a lot of respect for that fact alone. Plus, it is pretty good. As for the DVD, it looks like they've got all the features turned on, including a full-length commentary track, supporting documentary, and "lost footage" with even more stuff. Worth the 20 bucks.

Summary: Possbily the worst an most boring video I have seen.
Review: It is hard to understand how this movie has had the success it has enjoyed. I found it to be boring beyond belief. I have yet to talk with anyone who had a favorable comment. Don't waste your money.

Summary: Fear is in the eyes of the beholder.
Review: I'm sure everyone has heard conflicting reviews of The Blair Witch Project, ranging from "dumb" and "nausea inducing" to "the scariest movie since the Excorcist." In my humble opinion, the reason for this extremely wide range of opinions, is that the movie's ability to scare us depends on our ability to let our own mind fill in the blanks. That's whats wonderful about this film. It gives us a terrifying premise, and allows us to incorporate our own worst fears and scariest "boogiemen" into the darkness we see. For those viewers (and there are many) who are fortunate enough to have an imagination which complements this unique "mockumentary", they are rewarded by a truly frightenening movie experience that few films can rival. I would recommend this film to anyone just on its premise alone.

Summary: AN INSTANT CLASSIC
Review: The Blair Witch Project is an outstanding piece of filmmaking. I rented this film the night it came out, hoping for a good scare, but not for a good plot. I received just the opposite of what I expected. The plot was clever and creepy, but it was far from scary. Even if you aren't a horror movie junkie, this film is sure to please you!
