Summary: Entertaining but not like the original
Review: While it might not be as enjoyable as the original, this is still a great movie. If you look closesly in the last scene inside the predator ship, you can see the head or should i say skull of an alien queen form the "Aliens" series of course, little touches like that and the brief mention of events from the first movie make this a must see.

Summary: more invisible surprises
Review: I think this movie is just as good as the first one, but the Predator's moves was slightly better. Even the new weapons, from the razor-disc to the spear, turned out pretty cool. The 2 scariest scenes in the movie was the warehouse and the attack on the train. I loved how the invisible super-stalker turned all the drug dealers into mince meat, thinking it was on the cops side, maybe!! This is the 2nd film Danny Glover & Gary Busey starred in, since Lethal Weapon. On the ship scene, keep a sharp eye on a curvy-shaped skull, which turns out to be an Alien skull from the "Alien" series. By showing that, I hope there's gonna be a "Predator 3" and a possible "Aliens vs Predator" spinoff that we've been hearing rumors about. If a sequel does happen, maybe Paul Verhoeven or Paul Anderson could direct it.

Summary: Wicked sequel,man!
Review: This film has been so under-rated for too long a time. I wish to clear all the fuss up right now with this review.

Arnie wanted to return as Major Alan 'Dutch' Schaefer but couldn't because of his commitments to Total Recall. The role was rewritten as Mike Harrigan and Danny Glover was cast. And when this film came out in 1990 everyone knew what the Predator was so there was no point in having him hide in the shadows. And when you can't have the Predator hide in the shadows what else can you do with him? Glorify him, exploit him and give him and awesome arsenal of weapons he can use to cut to shreds Columbian cartels, Voodoo-Mad Jamaicans and the LAPD.

The ferocious pace in this film is incredible. The speed it moves with from scene to scene without being over-edited or confusing is sublime. Stephen Hopkins' direction is top-notch and Peter Levy's cinematography is amazing. They worked together twice afterwords in 'Judgment Night' and 'Blown Away'. Alan Silvestri's score is a major improvement over the original (which was still way cool) and some of the music chills to the bone.

I look forward to this DVD and (in the far future maybe) a Predator 3. When the DVD does come out I hope it shows the film in the 2.05:1 aspect ratio that my widescreen VHS tape was. The extra features are thin; limited to a trailer and a brief featurette on the Predator himself. The soundtrack will be Dolby 5.1 only and NOT include the DTS that Fox originally promised us. Too bad considering the outrageous sound mix Predator 2 has.

Summary: Just as great as the first one!
Review: This movie was just as great as the first one! When the Predator hunts in the concrete jungle, its up to Danny Glover to stop him from killing not only all the drug lords, but the innocent citizens as well. I noticed a 12 year old reviewed this movie and he said it was not as good as the first one and it makes me ask myself what he was thinking. He either isnt old enough to appreciate it, or just doesnt realize what is good and whats not (no offense). Some pros of this movie over the last one is that you get to see some awesome new and even more deadly weapons such as the spear, disc, and the razor net. You also get to see the Predators gruesome face much more often than in the first movie. I give this movie a 5 out of 5. Its just a great as the first one!

Summary: pretty good, not the original though
Review: I just wanted to say to Rich, re: Vegitarian ethics, October 24, 2002 (Rich from SF, CA): What a well-written, insightful review. Youre completely insane, of course, but you can write!
Anyway, this one will certainly pass the time, but its not as good as the original. The scene in the meat plant is enough to make your mouth water; I feel like grilling up a burger every time I see it...

Summary: ouch this hurts
Review: ok i am 12 and recently me and my dad started to rent cool movies like predator and alien. predator was an awesome movie i loved it but this one no way! i know that this is more like it would happen in real life but it wasn't as good as predator. in this movie tthe predator comes to the big city and starts his assanation but the plot for this follows a cop and his partners as they figure out what criminal master mind is behind this but when all the criminals are killed they go to their boss who they suspect to be the killer. after a riot on the bus one of his partners are killed from then on its only him. i woln't ruin the whole story though...

Summary: Vegitarian ethics
Review: I think this is a great movie and one that will become a cult classic, especially for humanitarians and vegitarians. Throughout the movie we see a powerful being whimsically hunt down and kill humans, strip and possibly skin them, hang them upside down, take from the carcas and eat what it wants and then desplay the spinal column and skull in a trophy case. We sit in awe of the creatures power over us, hoping that it is alone, gets board and leaves us alone. Fortunatally we are able to kill the superior foe as sometimes happens, but it is the setting of the final scenes where the movie makes its real statement. These scenes take place in a meat packing plant where we see skinned frozen sides of beef hung up waiting for consumption by us. The true horror of this movie is that we know the terror of the alien is really a representation of us. Nothing the alien has done is as horrible as what we do to cows (and so many other animals). The aliens actions towards us are an obvious comparison to the practices of the industrialized slaughter house and the processing of cows into hamburgers. Each member of the audiance knows in a deep way that mercy is not to be expected if the aliens actions are anything like ours. Instead we ourselves will soon be easily subjected and horribly processed according the the aliens desires. I think that this movie can create some thought around the idea that the fear and terror we bring to our fellow creatures not only hurts them but is hurting us also. While most people are so dissassociated from their role in the practices of horror that take place on the planet that they don't even notice the hanging carcases of fellow creatures who we have mistreated (the cows), the pain we are creating is working its way out in this film, and in society. I also enjoyed the movie Babe.

Summary: Great Film
Review: Predator 2 is very overlooked. The characters, action, setting are all great. Bill Paxton adds some humor to it too. This movie has a lot of cool scenes from the [drug} house to the meat factory. The movie is very well spread, casted, and photographed. Stephen Hopkins is a hell of a director, check out Judgment Night with Emilio Estevez and Cuba Gooding Jr. That is also a good flick!!

Summary: The Perfect Sequel!
Review: After I saw PREDATOR,I was ready to see PREDATOR 2. When I watched it, I thought it was good.Danny Glover does a good job as the to someone who fights the preadtor.PREDATOR 2 may not have as thrilling action scenes as the first one but,the Predator is alot coler and better in this one.He has more weapons and he has more facial markings. If you enjoyed PREDATOR, I suggest you watch this.

Summary: Wow!
Review: Like the first movie - the predator is ripping skulls with attached spinal cords from the bodies that he has killed. It's even shown buffing and chiseling a skull. Lots of dripping and pouring out of blood here, plenty of gore and not for kids. You really want to see someone of the human race defeat this thing. It's the same feeling watching Aliens - you want Sigourney Weaver to kick it's [bad word]. If that doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat, then you might enjoy all the "bad" guys getting killed by the predator. Unfortunatley a lot of "good" guys get killed too. This Predator kills for sport - but the odds are overwhelmingly on it's side - c'mon it's invisible - but it loses that power while in the meat warehouse. That's when it gets even more interesting and you know Danny Glover has a chance to defeat this thing.
