Summary: SENSUAL, EROTIC, A GOTHIC EXTRABAGANZA. A MUST SEE.

Summary: One of my favourites
Review: I loved this movie. It has the most sumptous costumes and set design that I've ever seen. Gary Oldman was a perfect mix of evil and heartbreak.

The ending was a bit of an anti-climax though. They make a big deal about how they're going after Dracula etc etc but their actual confrontation of him only lasts a minute or so. That's a bit of a let-down but other than that the movie is a visual feast.

Summary: stylistic flourishes abound......
Review: Francis Ford Coppola's 'Dracula' failed to leave a positive impression after my initial encounter. However, subsequent viewings forced me to alter my previous opinion. This modern rendition of a 'classic literary myth' is sumptuously designed and effectively utilizes just about every 'stylistic flourish' imaginable. Many fanatics of the original novel will be quite disheartened by this modern update but film buffs will enjoy it's innovative theatrical style. The castle sequences are beautifully rendered possessing a sense of morbidity and terror though out it's duration. Highly recommended.

Summary: It's not the book, its more
Review: A lot of people were put off by the fact that this movie was not a complete translation of the book. To all of those people I say you can take that book and shove it up your "boudoir". The book was about a fiend that nobody liked, who was chased around by a bunch of colonialist english people and a crazy german. If you like stories about evil and good wearing black and white respectively, then this is not the movie for you. If you like stories with sumptuous backgrounds, enlightened transitions, a beautifully rendered tragic character via Gary Oldman, and a historical revisionist version of book written in a time when you could only speak in ten dollar words, then by all means see this movie. If you are a hidiously romantic with a predilection for Tim Burton movies, like me, then you buy it as well:)=

p.s. So its got Keanu and Winona in it, what are you gonna do? Cry over it? The rest of the movie is damn fine!

Summary: Why call it "Bram Stoker's Dracula" when it wasn't?
Review: You may like this film if you never read the book and want an Anne Rice sexy-vampire, but if that's the case WHY DID THEY USE BRAM STOKER'S NAME IN THE TITLE? His Dracula was EVIL, and Mina NEVER fell in love with him, not even remotely! And the book was really scary, whereas this pathetic Dracula lost me completely in that scene where he cried after Mina stood-him-up on their dinner date. Dracula? Sobbing? Give me a break!

Summary: No, No, NO
Review: This is not "Bram Stoker's" Dracula, it is an overdose of pretty costumes and set designs attempting to take the place of plot and drama. In his eagerness to appeal to every sector of the market Coppola's Dracula becomes all things to all people (a villain turning women into undead 'Nosferatu' for no reason, a suffering lover looking for his dead love's re-incarnation, a cobwebbed old man pontificating on history) and since these personae usually conflict, the result is often hilarious. You'll laugh, you'll hurl, you'll cry (if you paid money to rent it, that is.)

Summary: WOW!!!
Review: This was an awesome movie. If only it didn't have to end! I'm not saying that the ending was bad, because it wasn't! The ending was perfect. I just wish the movie could go on and on forever because it was that good!!! I enjoy watching this movie as much as I enjoy reading Anne Rice's books, and I love her books! She is my favorite author!!! In those scenes where Gary Oldman was young with the long dark hair and the blue glasses, he looked SO hot and SO sexy! I'm serious!!! I love this movie!!! You turn it on expecting a horror movie, and you end up with a love story at least as good as Romeo and Juliet was. It's perfect!!! I LOVE IT!!! I also LOVE those scenes where two things are happening at once!!! They are SO COOL!!!

Summary: spine tingling action and heartwarming erie romance
Review: Francis Ford Coppola's "dracula" is marvelously portrayed. Different from all the other films it portray's a world of evil, magic and love all rolled up in one. It leaves the viewer feeling nestalgic and eager to see it one more time. As a monvie-goer,this movie is truly one of my very favorite films, and recommend it to anyone. Once you view this movie you too will add it to your personal collection.

Summary: Glad I watched this one
Review: This is officially my favourite movie of all time. I am sure that if Keanu Reeves hadn't have been in it, it would have received far more oscar nominations. Suberb acting on all counts except Keanu and a beautiful love story thrown in. If Dracula really looks like Gary Oldman then I'm reiventing myself as a blood donor.
