Summary: You will never eat pea soup the same way again.
Review: This movie wasn't quite so chilling as people gave it credit to be. But rumors say the original version (several omissions were made, from what I hear.), people died from watching this movie. Yes, its true, they had heart attacks.

This movie will be remembered as one of the scariest of all time. Though its not that scary (at least in my opinion), it _will_ be remembered as a classic and is definetly worth your time and money.

Summary: You've come a long way Dimmie
Review: Allright..let's all calm down. I too can go on about how this favorite of mine has scared me since I was a kid and how it still does to this day, but, do you know what's really scary? Some members of the '90210", "I Know What You Did Last Summer" generation might watch this film and laugh! They'd watch "Halloween" or "Night of the Living Dead" and doze off or say something like "I thought it would be more like "Scream" (which is what I once overheard after a screening of "Psycho.") IIIEEEEE! Where is the respect and appreciation for the classics? Perhaps Film History should be a mandatory course in High School from now on instead of say, Ceramics. Which would you rather do - watch and discuss a great movie or get all messy creating something that vaugely resembles a vase?

Summary: The most terrifying film of all time
Review: I have no doubt that this is the scariest movie ever made. No stone was left unturned when William Freidken and team wanted to make this a film that would burn itself into you memory. This is a movie that will effect you emotionally in a number a horrifying ways. The DVD looks and sounds great. Proof that the sound of a film can and will have just as much impact on you as the visuals will. The bonus material is first rate. Get this DVD. Turn down the lights, put the kids to bed, turn up the home theatre and get ready to be terrified beyond belief !

Summary: THE ONLY HORROR FILM
Review: I recently purchased this DVD because I read how scary it was and I've always wanted to see it. There's nothing more that I can tell you that hasn't already been said. THIS MOVIE WAS HORRIFYING! I am a Roman Catholic Christian, and I have no belief in what this movie focuses on, but I watched it for what it was worth. It was so scary! The high production standards for a movie made in 1973 really surprised me. And, the picture and sound quality are both brilliant for a movie this old.

One of the scariest parts was when Karras went to see Regan, (possessed), and he said to her: Where's Regan? The demonic voice answered, "In here, with us. Your mother is in here too, Karras. Want to leave a message? I'll be sure she gets it." This just shocked me that a demon would take over an innocent little girl's body and state that there are hundreds of people inside the body.

Also, the demonic voice would say reverse English and lots of other weird animal noises.

This movie freaked me out and is way better than any other horror film out there.

WARNING: IF YOU SEE THIS MOVIE, YOU'LL SPEND MANY SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AWAKE IN YOUR BEDROOM. THIS IS NOT A CHILDREN'S MOVIE. DON'T SEE IT ALONE. WATCH IT IN A WELL-LIT ROOM. THIS MOVIE WILL HAUNT YOU FOR YEARS TO COME.

See this movie, get scared, that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Summary: A funkiller...
Review: Well this is defenitly the most horrifiying motion picture there is. If you got a party at your house and everybody is just smalltalkin around and you can't take it no more, just put in the EXORCIST and after 5 Minutes everybody will be quite with their eyes wide open....

I guess the biggest effect is that an inonocent little girl is able to say such terrible things when she is posessed by a demon.

The story is so believable and the atmosphere is so convincing that it is impossible not to be frightend by this movie.

Don't you dare watch this movie alone in the house on a stormy evening cause you'll get real paranoia which proves the movie is great.

Summary: A must-have!
Review: Wow!... want some chicken skin? some cold sweat on your hands? then you must get The Exorcist!. No horror film has overpassed the effects of the Exorcist, must of all because its a true story. Even though the sound isnt good enough for a home theater, it might be becuase the movie dates from 1973, and sourround sound wasnt invented yet. Putting aside the sound, the movie itself is a classic.

Summary: What the hell 'possessed' me to watch this alone?
Review: I'm not kidding. I am a grown woman, have seen hundreds of horror movies, and even watching this in the middle of the day when it was sunny outside it gave me chills. In fact, a couple of scenes (like the head spinning) scared me so bad I almost started to CRY. I saw this movie on TV when I was in high school and for some reason it scared me WAY more now. The documentary was excellent, and I finally got to see the notorious "spider-walk" scene that was cut out. I wanted to see this part for a long time, ever since I heard about it, but I didn't think I'd get to because I don't have a DVD player. I was thrilled that it was included, but YEEEESH it gave me the creeps. I think it was a great idea to re-master the sound, as the sound is one of the most frightening aspects of the movie. It rightly deserved the 1973 Academy Award for best sound. Her voice is creepy enough, but these horrible animal-like sounds come out of this little girl that make every hair on your body stand on end. I also didn't think upon a second viewing that I would find any scenes shocking as it takes a lot to shock me, and I am not exaggerating. Well, the scene with the crucifix made my jaw drop and I had to cover up my eyes, I couldn't watch! ( if you are easily shocked I would seriously recommend either fast-forwarding or NOT looking during this scene). What's also interesting in the documentary is hearing about how rough a shoot it was. Evidently Friedkin is not very well-liked by most of the actors who have worked with him, and you will find out they have good cause for this. But I have to admit, he got results, and this is one HELL of a great movie.

Summary: Absolutely One of THE Greatest Horror Films Of All Time!
Review: An ultimate classic! My God, this movie is good. It's about a little girl who gets possessed by The Devil. That is the only way to describe it. This movie is WAAY ahead of its time as far as scary movies go.... Please, I'm begging you, if you haven't seen this movie, you've got to! It is THE best!

Summary: One of the greatest horror films of any time.
Review: If you haven't seen The Exorcist, I'm angry. It is scary, funny, and based on true life which shocked me. After seeing this film, I was giggling down under, but I was also terrified to go back in my bedroom. So maybe it is not the scariest film of all time, but it defintitely comes close!

The acting is superb and terrific. Linda Blair is amazing, while Ellen Burstyn is the perfect lead for the film.

Your missing out on alot of thrills, chills and laughs if you haven't seen The Exorcist, so rent it today!

Summary: THE Horror Film
Review: From beginning to end, this is the best horror film ever made. The story is chilling and REAL, maybe too real for alot of people. The performances are outstanding, especially JASON MILLER as FATHER KARRAS, still, in my opinion, one of the greatest dramatic performances I have ever seen from a "Supporting" actor. This film challenges you, shakes you to your core, and will keep you awake for nights on end. It truly ranks up there with the best films ever made for so many reasons. If you have an opportunity to get the 25th ANNIVERSARY EDITION with the documentary at the beginning, it is a keeper. It will lend insight into the making of such an awe-inspiring film. Friedkin was a perfectionist, but it all paid off in the end. Horror films have gotten progressively worse as the years have worn on, maybe the reason is that they had this masterpiece as the measuring stick.
