Summary: 'Dimmie! Why do you do this to me?"
Review: Without a doubt, the most horrifying theatrical experience of a lifetime. In my experience, the most horrifying scene of the whole movie is in the "boring" first part. It involves Father Karris' dream of his mother and all the guilt associated with her death. Earler in the film, we see Damien with his mother and his mother admonishes him with "Dimmie, why do you do this to me?" In Father Karris' dream, we see his mother coming out of a subway in slow motion, the only sound is Damien's fitful sleeping. Then we see his mother silently cry out "DIMMMMIIEEE!" Then, MY GOD! Did I actually see that? There are four frames, tachistoscopically added, of the most horrible demon's death-mask like face! Chalk white with blood-red bags under its eyes. In the DVD version, if your DVD player is on a computer, screen-save that face and make it your Windows wallpaper! It will screw you up permantly! You will never think of "Cap'n Howdy" in the same way!

Summary: EASILY THE SCARIEST I'VE SEEN
Review: This is the scariest movie I've seen, there might be something scarier out there, somewhere. Who am I kidding, this is the scariest movie! Buy it!!!

Summary: Great movie made just a bit better
Review: The extra footage adds to an already great movie. I saw on the big screen in 1973 and still enjoy it very much today. Not much for extras but the sound and picture quality is sweet.

Summary: SCARIEST SO FAR!!
Review: This is the scariest movie I've seen so far. Seen all the other "scariest films" Rosemary's Baby so-so, Psycho it's okay, Silence of the Lambs give me a break, This is the one that takes top honors. As of now, I've seen most horror movies, and this is by far the scariest movie I've seen yet. This is also based on a true story, and that makes it even scarier! This is the movie to buy! Watch it alone in the dark, then you'll see what everyone else is talking about. Watch it with an open mind please! Don't try not to get scared, try to get scared! This is the only scary movie that messed me up for a long period of time. You have to see this movie. This is true horror!!

Summary: The ending is NOT better
Review: I love this movie and was very disappointed at the way they had to mettle with the movie. When will Hollywood not fix something that was great? Thank God they could not colorize "Casablanca"

Summary: A Classic MOVIE!
Review: This movie is terrifying, I heard people when this release ran out of the theathers screaming and puking everywhere! Not overrated at all! Every scene seems spooky and eerie, especially the priest's dreams of her mother. The screams, the cussing, the profanity makes it even more terrifying, The Masterbatation screen without a doubt scare me, me and dad were chill at that! This movie is a classic, and if nobody excepts it, they don't what good horror filmmaking is!

Summary: Five Stars For The Movie, Zero For Lack Of Extras.
Review: The Exorcist is my favorite movie movie of all time. I've seen it probably one hundred times, and when "The Version You've Never Seen" was released theatrically, I went four times, to get the big-screen experience. (I was a baby when the movie was originally released.)

The movie itself is amazing, and the picture and sound on the DVD are perfect. The commentary by Director William Freidkin is as boring as could be, with nothing worth hearing. The other extras are TV, Radio, and Theatrical spots, and a few text features. Why they couldn't use some of the extras that were on previous DVD versions of the film is beyond me. The excellent documentary "The Fear of God", featured on the 25th anniversary DVD would have been a welcome addition to the disc. As another reviewer stated, get this version if you're looking for a great film. If you're looking for extras, get the 25th anniversary DVD.

Summary: "CAPTAIN HOWDY THAT'S NOT NICE"
Review: This movie is the scariest movie I've ever seen. Me and 9 of my friends watched this at 11:00pm and it scared the ... out of all of us. We all agree that it is the scariest movie. I think the 2nd scariest movie I've seen is Repulsion, or The Changeling. Oh well, this takes top honors in my book. What makes this even scarier is hat it is based on a true story! I suggest watching this forst, alone in the dark, after it ends(or after you recover) watch the movie called Possessed and see what inspired this movie. Have a wonderfully scary time!

Summary: A classic horror film!!!
Review: I like this movie. It is a classic horror movie. When you watch it, it compells you and makes you be afraid and worroy about the actors. Although this movie isn't gory it's still good. it's more of a horror psychological-drama than just a horror movie because the mother worries about her daughter and the girl acts in unusual ways. the version you've never seen version is the best. The DVD is cool with lots of features.
If you like this, buy it.
