Summary: Poltergeist scares me as much as it did when I was 12
Review: Exellent story, script, acting, and special effects. Of all the haunted house movies I have seen, this is the scariest.

Summary: a true chiller that raises the dead
Review: It is amazing to me, but whatever Mr. Spielberg touches turns to gold. And in this true chiller, executive producer Steven Spielberg really gave us a tour de force about a little girl being contacted with the dead, and then finally being kidnapped by them. Only leaving the TV set as a mean of communication with her parents.

Just try to imagine being a parent whose child dissappears in the hereafter, just being able to do almost nothing about it, no cops can be called to report missing child, no neighbors believe in you. You only have to rely on mediums, with your own life, because you have to enter the ethereal parallel world in order to get her back.

Another movie to be recommended is called "THE CHANGELING" IT REALLY IS A MUST FOR THE GENRE.

Summary: The best movie in the world!
Review: I loved this movie! I am only 11, but it was just right! I can't watch R raters, so I watched this(I had a poltergiest fest w/ all 3 movies after that w/ friends). I feel that it is not to strong on violence or language, and I LOVE gory stuff! 2 thumbs up!

Summary: THIS IS ONE SCARY MOVIE!!!
Review: I have always been a big fan of Poltergiest, and believe it to be my favorite movie in the world!!! Ghost movies have always scared me, but this one especially does. The dvd version gives it better color and sound quality. It really helps make that lovely song in the opening and closing credits magnificent!!! You surely tell the big difference in quality when it shows clips of the ghosts in the movie!!! I believe that it makes the movie even scarier!!!

Summary: Poltergeist is a great film
Review: Poltergeist is the first movie to star the extrememly talented young actress, Heather O'rourke. This movie is filled with the best child acting I have ever seen. It's thrilling, exciting and scary. The two sequels are wonderful, as well.

Summary: A brilliant scary movie flick...a true haunted house pleaser
Review: This is truly a fantastic movie. Nowadays we are used to the shock a second horror film and what Poltergeist offers is a genuinely scary thrill ride of dynamic proportions. I would recommend the widescreen version because it is one of the few movies where the black bars add a twitch of terror to the mix. The story of a family living in a man-made community really jumps starts when objects begin moving around the house. Then, when little Carol Anne is abducted into the television and kept on "the other side" it will take a team of parapsychologists, a strage medium, and the love of her family to bring her back. Just when you think the movie's over, the real treat arrives. This is a gem of a rollercoaster ride written by Steven Spielberg and chock full of ahead of its time special effects. Rent it, buy it, see it!

Summary: One of the most decent horror movies ever made...
Review: POLTERGEIST was the first DVD I bought with my player. It was exciting to see this old film in its widescreen format, and digitally remastered.

Even though the movie was released 17 years ago, it still hasn't given up any of its spectacular special effects or bone-chilling storyline. I don't think anyone could honestly say that clown scene didn't scare the heebie-jeebies out of them!

Poltergeist was unique in that it contained a certain sci-fi element inside its main plot of restless ghosts haunting an innocent family's home. There hasn't even been an X-Files episode on the paranormal that was quite as captivating as this movie.

Rent or buy Poltergeist on DVD (or VHS, if you must). You won't be disappointed!
