Rating: Summary: This film is one of the few that actually scared me. Review: With wonderful direction and great writing I thought it was probably one of my favorite films. And I can only think of one other person besides Al Pacino that could take on the role of Satan, and that's Christopher Walken. Now don't get me wrong, Pacino did a beatiful job. The thing that I thought made it one of my favorites is that I couldn't predict the ending, neither could anyone else who saw it with me. So if you liked the movie The Game, then you'll love Devil's Advocate.
Rating: Summary: Pacino was the Key to this flick Review: This was a solid movie, but if it was not for Al Pacino, who sizzled as the Devil in a role that he was more than suited to play, the movie would crumble. Charlize Theron is pleasing to look at, but she shows lotz so it may not be suitable for kids. Reeves, in my opinion was good in Speed, but thats about it, he destroyed this film and if it was not for Big Al, it would of stunk.
Rating: Summary: This movie stinks! Review: Pacino as the devil. Seems perfect on paper, but Devils Advocate suffers from so many problems that it sinks under its own weight. Pacino, normally a great actor, chews up the scenery like a T. Rex. Keanu Reeves as a southern lawyer? Give me a break! He gives the weakest performance of a already spotty career, and gives us, perhaps, the worst southern accent ever commited to film. A convoluted plot that makes little sense only adds to the viewers misery. Want to watch a good movie about Satan? Get Rosemary's Baby, and don't waste your time on this mess!
Rating: Summary: An excellent story and visually impressive film. Review: I thought this was going to be just another one of those lawyer films with supernatural overtones. Instead it caught my attention and held it "spellbound" from the beginning to the very end. It was an excellent story, the players were well chosen, and (one of the things I always look for in a film)the presentation was seamless -- well edited so there was nothing out of place and no scene or camera view that wasn't actively contributing to the plot and the action. I loved it!
Rating: Summary: If you are a die-hard Christian, watch something else. Review: This movie rocks. It is the first movie I have seen that i don't want to kill Keanu Reeves in the first five minutes of film. Al Pacino once again makes the best of his character in this film. The end of the movie is a scary yet depressing end, because you know that Keanu can not escape his destiny. I would recomend this to anyone that is not extremely religious. This movie really knocks you out.
Rating: Summary: Sly & Stunning Review: Reeve's best movie casts him as the son of Satan himself, Al Pacino. A hotshot Florida lawyer is called to New York to work for a huge lawfirm. Little does he know that there is more than his job at stake. Funny, fierce sexy & scary!
Rating: Summary: One of the best movies ever made! Review: This movie is well thougt out. It's going through your bones, your head and your stomach...all of it is the finest ever...music, actors and content is so captivating. A special "bravo" to Al Pacino he play's the devil very convincing.Don't forget to breathe...it's a best seller!
Rating: Summary: A Movie That Entertains Your Soul to Death Review: "The Devil's Advocate" is a movie that got great reviews and viewer acclaim, yet it still did not get the recognition it deserved. Lead by should've-been-Best Actor Al Pacino and director Taylor Hackford, it is a film that preserves every second of mystery and suspense all the way up to its exciting, surprising, and somewhat comical finish. Any movie fan, whether or not a Pacino or Reeves fan, must watch this fantastic screen version of the Andrew Neiderman novel.
Rating: Summary: The film was great. You could not find a better cast. Review: It was a very well done movie. The casting was great, Al Pacino played the perfect devil, and Keanu Reeves played the perfect pretty boy lawyer. It is a little graphic at points but very well done. It is sure to keep your interest.
Rating: Summary: Riveting, dark yet real Review: This movie was so scary... its real life situations created a mood that was so frightening that I had to turn the tape off from time to time. Charlize was terrific and very beautiful and Keanu was as intense as expected. Pacino was grand as usual.
