Summary: A Disappointment
Review: Poorly written and poorly acted, this vampire tale never drew me in. The tortured vampire with the human heart didn't make me care, and the evil vampires around him seemed to differ from him very little.

A much better depiction of vampires suffering for love, for their sins, or with their longing to be human can be found on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Spike), on Angel the Series (Angel) or even on the very old soap opera, Dark Shadows (Barnabas Collins). I suggest you try one of those instead. It's been a long time since I've watched Dark Shadows, but I can guarantee you better acting and vastly superior writing on both Buffy and Angel.

Review: THE BEST vampire movie ever as far as i am concerned...that's all.

Summary: If you are a fan of the creator or need goth garb ideas. . .
Review: Then go ahead and purchase this video. Interview with the Vampire it ain't--but as the blurb suggests urban Romania itself is a star of this film. The lead actress was tolerable and if you like to see small breasted women get bit in the neck then this is the movie for you. One thing that really bothered me was the fact that the reason for taking *innocent* blood was never fully explained nor was a given consort's willingness to "donate." Believe it or not, if this concept is taken to a continuing series of movies it has room to grow into something truly spectacular. . .but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this movie until that day.

Summary: Subspecies 3 1/2
Review: This can be considered Subspecies 3.5 as it takes place between Subspecies 3 & 4, and some characters from Vampire Journals even turn up on Subspecies 4. Though not near as good as the Subspecies series, this is still worth a look. Great atmosphere and lighting. What this film suffers from is sub-par acting. Sure everyone looks good in the film, but the acting hinders it. This film is still a must for Subspecies fans and worth a look for Ann Rice fans, because the subject material is closely related to Interview With the Vampire, only with a much lower budget.

Summary: Beaufully Filmed
Review: This is a beautifully filmed and chorographed piece. It is full of lovely gothic settings, lighting, costumes, faces and bodies. For the Vampire and Gothic geniera fan this alone makes the film worth while. The acting is uneven going from mediorcer to bad. The droning self pieting voice over makes Interview with a Vampire seem exciting in comparison. The later is decidedly the superior film. But for shear setting this is a bonanza. Just the thing to play on a wide screen TV with the sound off during a party.

Summary: Perhaps the best Vampire movie ever
Review: This is a fantastic movie. Very well done, dark and gothic the way a Vampire film should be. Perhaps not the best Vampire film ever made, but definitely one of the best made in the past 2 decades or so.

Summary: This movie is horrible
Review: This is clearly not a movie for everyone. Being a fan of vampire movies, I happen to sit down in front of this one. And unfortunately, this movie was so bad that I found myself embarrassed to be any part of it. Why? The atrocious acting; the miserable excuse for what would be special effects; the uninspired script; the useless narrative; predictable plot; bland, amateurish direction; ambigious accents, setting and time; poor musical score editing; failed scene transitions; unbelievable characters; and the daytime soap opera feel. The plot does thicken halfway through, but is not interesting enough to speed a viewer's heartbeat. From time to time, I had to cover my eyes from seeing this utter and complete waste of ninety minutes. There is no point in getting a DVD of this film because the clarity of the picture and sound will only enhance some of the movie's worst attributes. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and is a disgrace for the vampire genre.

Summary: Almost a work of art.
Review: This movie grasped the underground vampire role player in me. Amazing performances by the entire cast, especially the charismatic David Gunn gave the movie it's splendor. The setting is not only apt but more than adeqate in it's gothic nature. The plot leaves for a sequel, one I eagely wish to see. This movie will have a special place in the heart of Role Players world wide.
