Summary: the greatest
Review: Bruce Campbell is, without a doubt, the greatest action hero in motion picture history. Hail to the king, baby!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Funnier than most comedies I have seen.
Review: I have seen all three Evil Dead Movies. This wasn't as good as the other two, but that was because it was a completely different type of movie. While the special effects were mediocre, the movie was one of the funniest I have ever seen. Unlike most comedies, it stays funny, the humor doesn't get old. The only real downside to this movie is that it was not as gory or bloody as it predessors. The ending also left the series open for a new installment, and I seriously think they should consider making one.

Summary: Great, but disgusting.
Review: Fabulous movie, good plot, great humor, but where's the special effects? It's major shortcoming was the excessive gore. Well, it's a good rental anyway...

Summary: Strange, entertaining, and a hell-of-a lot of fun!
Review: This movie stars Bruce Campbell, one of the B-movie kings. He is best known, recently, from the Hercules and Xena series playing the "King of Theives". This movie can be considered horror in the MOST basic sense. It is more of a sci-fi, horror/comedy spoof. If anything, Sam Raimi, has created a parody of the sterotypical horror film. It takes the elements of a zombie movie, throw some sword fighting in there, and a side order of slapstick and you have Army of Darkness. In other words, its Hercules with zombies instead of demi-gods. Owning this movie makes it a personal cult classic that you cannot help but to snicker at no matter how many times you have seen it.

Summary: awe-inspiring movie making at its best
Review: the best movie of the evil dead series, it is a high point in bruce cambell's otherwise dull career. He shows that he can match any great actor blow for blow. He is most definitely the best at delivering one-liners that I have ever seen. The settting and theme of the movie is absolute brilliance while the cast is phenominal. You will never find an equal for this movie, because one doesn't exist

Summary: BEST OF EVIL DEAD MOVIES!!!!
Review: SUPERIER TO THE OTHER FILMS IN THE SERIES. LOTS OF LAUGHS AND UM ACTION. UH BRUCE CAMPBELL RULES. THE DARK HAIRED GIRL IS REALLY HOT IN THIS MOVIE BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF SHE WAS NACKED. GO CHECK OUT THIS MOVIE.

Summary: Hail to the king baby
Review: Ive seen the entire series several times, heck, I own all 3 movies on vhs and dvd(and I got the movie posters too). And I just gotta say, if you havent seen them, you dont deserve to live. While Army of Darkness isnt as good at Evil Dead 2, its still a kick butt movie in its own right. Sure the special effects arent all that great, but hey, its a little old too. The one liners and combacks are all great, and its fun to see a hero who is responsible for lots of deaths, yet still worshiped in the end.

Summary: Defintaly a classic in its time and now
Review: While trying to fall asleep at 3 am, I turned on my tv and found a very strange movie with skeletons that played bone flutes. That held my attention long enough to watch the ending and wish I would have seen the beginning. Imagine my suprise when I found that my work (no not S-mart) Target has all the series on sale! That was enough for me. The one liner's are classic, go watch it now! Shop smart- shop Targ..I mean S-mart

Summary: A Classic Movie, Give Us Some More Sugar Baby.
Review: I hope director Sam Raimi is not finished with the Evil Dead series. Sure his Hercules and Xena Warrior Princess shows are doing great, but nothing is quite like his Evil Dead Series.

Army of Darkness takes us to medieval times (a continuation of where Evil Dead 2 left off) where Ash has become known as the promised one who will rid the people of this time of all the dead that have risen from the grave.

This film was called 'Army Of Darkness' because this was the first Evil Dead movie that had a wide theatrical release. They didn't want movie goers skipping it because they hadn't seen the previous two. It does stand by itself, but I would recommend following the whole series. They changed the beginning of this film a bit from the ending of the Evil Dead 2. Where in Evil Dead 2 Ash falls through the rip in time, and is instantly saluted as the promised one, he is now thought to be an enemy. He has to prove himself to the population first. Unfortunate, but I'm sure it made a better storyline.

The rest of the movie is a classic horror/comedy. Sam Raimi has invented an entire new genre with the Evil Dead series. It's a fun movie that has clever little things inside. For instance the chant 'Klaatu Verada Nicto' taken from The Day The Earth Stood Still. H. P. Lovecraft's Necronomicon, and copies of Fangoria magazine are all little things that made this movie fun for me.

This is the American version however, and was altered. The main difference was the ending. The ending was too depressing for U.S. audiences according to the movie studios, so they changed it. That is unfortunate. Hopefully they will release the international version.

The DVD's features are limited. I don't like the little webpage text included on DVD's too much. The Production Notes, Cast and Filmaker's Bios and Film Highlights are just that. While some content can be interesting to read, overall I find that boring. The Theatrical Trailer is the only intersting extra.

Summary: Lost in a world not ment for the coolness of Ash
Review: Man what a thrill ride, the cheesy special effects and great one liners bring me back to the days when movies didn't need 170 dollars to be good. I loved this movie, there's not one scene I haven't memorized and with the alternate endimg you too can see what happens when ash stays in the past to lead his people, and marry shella.
